  1. Scrapping the county system would be a big call but I can see your logic. Better engagement with local schools is an absolute must.
  2. Bobby Charlton has passed away - just Hurst left with us now. RIP
  3. We’ve managed not to drop to the bottom of the table (but only by 0.02 on NRR). Things need to change, and I’d start by scrapping The Hundred.
  4. Report them to Trading Standards…
  5. and a glaring arsehole where a competent CEO should be…
  6. We’ve now passed that ignominy - still a pathetic performance though. Edited to add - still on course for the biggest defeat in a World Cup…

  10. I wanted to include that point in my rant but couldn’t work out how to word it.
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67160330 From the above - FA Cup third and fourth round replays are expected to be scrapped as part of reforms to the English football calendar’ Reform means ‘make changes to something in order to improve it’ - and who does this ‘reform’ help? Yes, as usual, it’s the biggest few clubs in the country who, without a hint of irony, moan about fixture congestion whilst also pushing for the enlargement of the European competitions. I for one will welcome the day when they finally disappear up their own arses and into a closed shop ‘super league’ Rant over…at least for now.
  12. It’s not like Kohli to make it all about him…
  13. He scored 20 league goals for us in the first 24 league games after his Chile debut. From that point he went on to score a further 16 in 56 for us (again league only) That’s quite the drop off (but still better than his pre-Chile days!)
  14. I think this is a crucial point as to why for most teams in our division a good season is a ‘now or never’ opportunity to get promoted. The only clubs, in my opinion, who have a real chance to ‘build towards’ promotion are those like Luton. I say this as, when they have a good season, for some reason (snobbery?) others see this as being despite having no decent players instead of because they do. This enables them to add to what they already have as against, like you say, having to constantly start again.
  15. Do you think there’s any link between the short managerial tenures and the high player turnover?
  16. 15 of the 24 championship managers are inside their first year in charge. 4 of those are inside their first month…
  17. I agree with all that but would you say it’s JDTs job to alleviate that pressure?
  18. Thank you for your reply. As things stand, I’d describe Southgate’s tenure as very good but also frustrating. If he was to win a trophy, and his record became that of your final sentence, I would agree that he’d been successful.
  19. Shouldn’t success (for the top international sides) be measured in trophies won?
