  1. I see what you’re saying but I see it more as: A* senior management (as per your examples) = well thought out and well implemented projects Our senior management = a poorly thought out and badly implemented project I say all this as someone whose not keen on the term being used - although I do think it’s better than being on a journey!
  2. If our ‘project’ was to get promoted as soon as possible I think more fans would put up with that term being used. I think it’s the idea that there’s such a thing as being promoted ‘too soon’ which is the major problem with ours. Why not try to go up ASAP, even if you think this means an immediate relegation would be almost guaranteed? - if this does happen, we’d (should) be in a position to launch a bid for a ‘more sustainable’ promotion. I’d say another problem (i didn’t say ‘the other’ because I’m sure there’s many more!) is what they say the project is bears no resemblance to their actions.
  3. The league is very close (excluding the top two) so a small improvement may well be all that’s necessary to finish in the play off places. Our problem is we’ve blown the opportunity to make these improvements through signings so we’re going to have to do so with the players we have. I’m not sure there’s much confidence that this will happen (this may be an understatement!) Oh, and I agree, I don’t see how we win the appeal.
  4. I don’t think it was the only reason either but 99 goals in the league doesn’t sound like they were crying out for him - or do you mean in regard to the Champions League?
  5. I wonder if part of the reason they bought him was to stop a rival from doing so
  6. Luton Town’s manager’s comments in build up to West Bromwich match (mid January) - compare and contrast: In front of a sold-out Kenilworth Road, the boss wants his players to maintain their levels and continue fighting ‘every day and every game’. “We have to be relentless in what we do,” Edwards said in his pre-match press conference. “We have to keep working hard, keep training really hard and keep doing the things that get us success and try and keep doing them better. It’s about being relentless now, that is what football is really, especially in the EFL. 46 games of really hard work and it can be a slog but if you’re successful, it can be really worth it.”
  7. ‘Don’t make excuses for why you can’t get it done. Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen’
  8. I think you’re being generous in using think and Venkys in the same sentence.
  9. Thanks for that - from what I’ve read in here it seems you’re in the minority but I’m sure everybody hopes that he proves you to be correct
  10. I’m fairly neutral on the GB thing but I think there’s a difference between saying you take responsibility for something and actually taking responsibility for something. I’d say the latter involves actions as well as words - I guess we’ll see if any are forthcoming.
  11. That’s an interesting theory - do you think the signings to date back that up?
  12. What is it you like about his movement? - I’ve never seen him play so I’d be interested to know
  13. Perhaps GB is very good at making things sound better than they are?
  14. He was their ‘National talent ID manager’ - he obviously brought his notebook with him!
  15. I wonder if we could do a ******* useless in a honest way 11 - I’m sure we could manage a dishonest one!
