Timid Tony is perfectly willing to leave. He simply needs paying to do so.
The stuff about honour and integrity is just optics.
Iv'e suspected something like this since the middle of last season. Some of the stuff he said then and he's said recently has almost sounded like he was asking for the sack. Otherwise he'll just shrug his shoulders and carry on looking after the players regardless of results.

Nine managers out of 10 in Mowbray's current situation would resign - without a doubt
Nine clubs of 10 with a proactive board would have sacked the manager by now
Our lot seem to be letting them get rid of a host of backroom staff instead.
That'll fix it.....said no one, ever.

Terrible showing todayDon't put the excuses in his mouth, that'll no doubt be held up as the reason for todays shambles anyway.

Ah ok Tony, better luck next time, carry on you nice man.

And as if by magic they'll probably wake up now !

Why aren't the press asking, nay digging to find out exactly why people are leaving ?
Absolute waste of chip paper all we get is Mowbrays angle on it. Not even the CEO who's supposed to be in charge of these things. No just the first team manager putting his spin on it.
Why no interview with Harvey ? Why no questions asked when a groundsman leaves to go to a lower level cub ?
Surely that is what actually passes for news and where there might be a story.

I suspect that all of this new technology and new systems are going over his head and he hasn't got a clue how they really work. That quote reads like waffle to me where he is pretending he gets it.
Why can't we keep things simple? It feels like the more clever and smart we try to be, the worse we actually get on the pitch. Nothing beats seeing a player for yourself out on the pitch, but maybe that's just me.
I think he's far to into it all and that's the problem iv'e always looked at him as a bit of a dinosaur trying to be too modern.
For me that's where his caught in two minds methods come from, instinct versus stats sheets. The result is what we witness from game to game.
Some stats are a good thing but trying to totally run the club off them aren't. If a player has a shit week in training and doesn't do his numbers it seems they dropped these days.
Some of the best players we've had have allegedly been some of the worst trainers. It's all about blend and balance on a matchday. We don't really see that we see a guy turning out his side based on his obsession with the opposition reports. He's been at it again about this game for possibly the weakest side in the div.

Horrendous crowds will be there next season if TM is in charge. No season ticket for me for 2021/22,the football is dross and I cannot stomach more of TMs drivel.
Just setting out on the road to 11th - 15th, knowing that despite what they may say in Aug by Dec he'll be shrugging his shoulders again doesn't get the juices flowing.

Horrendous crowds in prospect next season even if only a third of the stadium is open.

Completely different style to now obviously but similar to now the players in the squad that Appleton had weren't suited to what he wanted to do. Certainly not enough to make it count and make headway in the division although i could see what he was trying to do. He just wanted us hard to beat and be more of a long ball percentage side, right idea for the mess we were in but wrong squad to try it with.
Now if he'd have had several seasons and a few quid i'm sure he'd have stamped his style on it and although probably not prospered we wouldn't have gone down either. Could say similar about Lambert, Berg who knows and GB had well lost his way but still had more mitigating circumstances behind the scenes than this guy has had.
Back to Appleton though, he got it so badly wrong with those cup games but lets face it we were a really poor side at the time. Should just have gone for it though just like at times so should Mowbray. However when people say this now is the worst football they've seen i'm not sure they are thinking back hard enough.
It was some of the worst iv'e ever seen under Derek Shaws best pal.

1 - 3 to Rovers
I think we'll finally find the flat track bully mode here it's getting to that end of the season. Pressure is all on them, beach in sight and a care free summer for our lot. A few will also be eyeing another lucrative mid table season here so will want to impress generous Tone before he starts handing out the 1 year extensions.
-
It certainly ain't broke so it doesn't need fixing by 3 who've had next to nothing to do with it.
WTF makes Waggot, Mowbray and Venus experts on how it should and shouldn't be in the future ?
Where is their collective back catalogue for overseeing this kind of thing ? The only reason he can trot out the stupid '5 years behind Brentford in selling and recruiting' is down to rank bad, corrupt even, management from ownership downwards.
Players have been sold for millions under Venky's, quite a few cost little or nothing. It is the way its been re-invested or not at all that is the real problem. How he's got the brass neck to come out with that when he shot 12 million directly down the tubes on just 2 forwards and expect fans to swallow it is beyond arrogant.

We may as well just twin with Boro !
Then whenever they have someone they want off the books or a youngster who hasn't made the grade in we step. That's the recruitment sorted.
-
Cost cutting ?
I really fear that when people have heard of 'big changes' coming in summer it'll be this kind of thing. Chairs being shuffled around the deck rather than a change of management etc.
I double fear more TM allies or HSH and affiliate filling the gaps. Losing someone to a club who's been on its arse for yeas is going to raise serious questions.
Be no surprise to see them pass us in the next few years though if the present paralysis continues.
-
In regards to Kean and all the rest of it at that time it took a hell of a while for them to get up to speed. However stuff was flying out from all angles so i think they'd no choice but to wise up once the penny dropped.
They still didn't have the minerals to go after the rest of them though, which was a disservice to their readership.
Don't make the same mistake twice.

Get this printed in your paper and on your website you spineless yes men.
Do your duty to the Blackburn public and Rovers fanbase instead of toeing the club/manager/owner line all the time.
Anybody would think you were just a propaganda tool for the latest names over the door.

I'll go Freidel first just for his consistency if nothing else closely followed by Tugay, we'll never come remotely close to those 2 again. Elite operators.
Benni Mac, Nelson, Samba, Bert, Pedersen lead the follow up pack.

If that is a PR operation making the calls then any decent PR outfit will be able to sift through the responses and present their 'employers' with whatever they are looking for.
That's how it works.
Well it's happening for a reason and most likely been ordered by the CEO. Who else down there would think of that ?
So i think we'll know which way it's likely to be spun.

It's such a shame when it comes to that as in spells they can play some decent stuff. It just isn't suited to this squad if they want to do anything more than tread water in the lower half of the division.
Some time back now just as i predicted Mowbray changed tack and wrote off a top 6 challenge in favour of banging on about the kids and journeys etc. He's an old hand at shifting the goalposts he's had enough practice when he's turned wine into water before.
I don't like his brand of possession football it's too slow and predictable and it doesn't suit some of those trying to play it. Certainly not in the positions he puts them but he's been hiding behind the 'kids' line and having to rotate because of all the games for ages. He quite simply doesn't know the best 11 of his squad available to win games it's as simple as that.
So he throws as many factors into every equation as he can in an attempt to blind everyone. Got to say its still working on a lot of folk so i reckon the overall reaction might be quite even.
For me the football hasn't been that bad mostly but it just isn't effective and the proof, stats, facts or whatever anyone wants to call them are there for all to see. Results and league position.
Not really sure the fans opinion matters much at all at Ewood though once you get beyond what passes for a boardroom. I wonder if this is someone trying to gather enough evidence to present a case for change ?
OR if it's Waggots doing more like the opposite -- new contracts. I hope they were recording the calls !

So where's it going wrong at Ewood then, the culture and feel or the data ?
How much of those do you need to see people like Holtby and Ayala are unlikely to feature often enough. Or that Evans has been on a joyride for years ?
Does the manager change his mind every game and several times per game or are stat sheets telling him he should do that ? Are the recruitment dept and stats depts pulling in different directions than the manager and what we see is a result of this ?
The balance isn't right at this club on or off the pitch and we don't need a team of number crunchers to confirm that.

Personally I would play Nyambe at right back and JRC at right wing. At the same time. I must admit I do like partnerships : fullbacks and wingers, two centerhalves, two central midfielders, two central forwards.
Our mon would only do that if the oppositions left back had good forward running stats.

Gladwin, Samuel, Smallwood now Williams.
Maybe even throw Chapman in there, TM and co's football holding company.
No wonder players like him it's all about them, might be nice if it was all about points and progress for a change.
Good or bad Friday depending on the result

Tony 'one nil to the opposition' Mowbray is happy tonight because the stats tell him we aren't far away.
This kind of denial to the truth gets teams relegated alongside tip tap football we aren't good enough to make count. I hope there is finally some coffee being smelt amongst our dwindling ranks.
The man has long since surpassed the being insulting to fans mode he really is now in snide Kean mode. Ok not with the snake like corruptance but he's an arsehole all the same.
No cure for that i'm afraid once its been exposed.
Get gone, i don't care who steps in.
