  1. Definitely proved himself on a par with Coyle on and off the pitch.  He over the last 12 months has developed a real tendency for verbal diarrhea like clownpants. On the football side of it equally as confusing and trying a style neither he or his team can make a success of.

Coyle was a liar and ducker and diver though the min he set foot in the place and he began his charade in the transfer market straight away.

Mowbray i think to be fair has been steady away and well meaning but has just gone into self preserving mode worse and worse as time has gone on. Now it seems he'll say anything he can regardless of contradictions and brazen it out.

So he's turned into just as big a twohat as the goon he replaced.

Why is it raining today when the weather forecast yesterday said it would be fine!?

Seriously though, I posted an update yesterday and then decided to hide it after a few minutes - some on here might have seen it before I hid it.  Decided to hide it because I didn't want to set the hares running again.

All I will say is that my understanding now is it's got a bit more bigger and complicated.  I still think there is a fair chance Mowbray will not be in charge on Saturday.

Will be interested in where @oldjamfan1 thinks we now are.

If I've been sold a dud and none of this happens, as posted previously, I will retire to my wines from this MB.

No need to retire your strike rate is no worse than a few who claim a bit of ITK on here.

And besides Nixon makes a living off edging his bets.

I know someone who used to be employed by the club and knows a lot of staff and how the club is run.  They are almost certain Waggott was hired with almost the intention of selling off the land at Brockhall and downgrading and skimping (this is speculation btw).  One thing that isn’t speculation however... and this is coming from someone who had access to information on the company accounts... guess how much he’s on a year... £300k.  For comparison, Williams and Finn were on less than that COMBINED.

This is why when people are saying there's a root and branch clearout coming in summer i'm convinced it's by him not starting with him.

The only way he knows how to do things is down grading and cutting costs. That's why he was at Charlton and Coventry. Clubs on the way down adjusting to a low income existence.

Now he's here with billionaire owners but pitching his down scale, squeeze everything you have methods. Then he'll be gone with a nice fat pension and maybe bonuses in his pocket.

Not a good situation at all and of course it means Mowbray remains here. Another only suited to lower end deadbeat stuff.

This really could end with another relegation and a load of money in from player sales and land sales.  That side of it probably appeals to some parts of the ownership if not others.

    Dangerous people.

I was thinking about the numbness that TM has created at the club. I'm no longer excited when we win because I know its meaningless and that we won't build on it and push on. I'm actually left wondering what TM would have to do to get some feeling back in the club.

If he stays in the summer and by some miracle we win the first 10 games with solid performances, wouldn't we all just be waiting for another 1 in 15 run of form? I had some hope at the start of this season and that was crushed. I really struggle to see what TM can do to win the fans back now.

They'd built up some passion again after league 1 but failed to capitalize on any of it. Clubs like Rovers need a fire behind them once the blue touch paper is lit, always been the case.

They miss judged everything very badly on that score, the ambition which everyone in a town like Blackburn needs to see to believe in was just replaced by a 'job done' attitude. They all settled in the the plod instead of the push on.

No ambitious signings just new generous deals for players who'd turned in one good season after relegating us in the first place. Price rises assuming crowds would rocket again instead of trying to draw lapsed fans and part timers back in.

And a manager telling the owners to put their money away lets go at a snails pace instead.

Many chances gone right there and then. Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing, except we were saying it at the time !

I have no intention of smearing anyone. I responded to what I thought was very unfair criticism of Ben Benson. Good old Johnno gets a free pass on here because he is a popular former player whereas Benson is not. But I can see no reason for getting rid of Benson.

Benson and Lowe are just collateral damage of the way the club is now run. Both iv'e no doubt work hard and do their best but really shouldn't be near a team that supposedly has promotion aspirations.

Mowbray inherited both and kept them either because he had to or by his own judgement.  I'll always remain a little skeptical of the moving of Johnson into the first team fold. Either way though he'd proven himself a very useful asst to the club with his management of the U23s.

It looks from the outside like they moved him and created a position for him. Odd really when he was doing so well where he was.  And how much does Mowbrays backroom team cost the club now ?

Benson. Lowe, Johnson, Venus, himself, drones, drone pilots, analytical staff the list goes on and on.  Then they penny pinch in the physio and medical depts.

It's not good, i doubt it's all really needed and it's all on Mowbrays doorstep.  Yet form on niggles and knocks and bringing back players before they are ready is worse than ever before.

Sooner he's gone the better before he clogs up the entire club.

I think Benson has been coaching at the club since 2015 so is no longer a novice.

Good old Johnno may have been a decent player but he is listed as being the Technical Coach and Head Player Development so can hardly be absolved from the disappointments on the pitch - if only he had been as successful as Ben Benson.

By the looks of it as well as the confused look on Mowbrays face he's quite simply installed too many cooks.

Stats are taking over the game and he's thinking he's pioneering that so everybody is running around with a clipboard.

Your attempts to smear Johnson and divert away from the REAL problem are rather obvious and a bit sad really.

The problem with your sort of argument is that Benson can never win - if the player he coaches does well then apparently it is all down to the player. Noboby is going to tell me you would use the same argument if Benson was a popular former player like "good old Johnno".

There is no argument to be had.

A novice coaching from a manual was coaching young keepers and putting a loanee through his paces.  Now he's got an experienced international number 1 there everyday.

Who's rubbing off on who ?   What can he possibly 'teach' someone like Kaminsky ?

Nothing, apart from perhaps offering stats on the opposition.  So in effect having him around is better for Benson and his own learning curve no ?

The Johnno comment is bollocks seeing as he had a very good and long career as a high level player.  So no correlation whatsoever but yes he should be perfectly able to coach the first team instead of Mowbray and Venus.

How could he be worse than 1 win in 14 with such a good squad to pick from that he knows very well.

It's a fallacy to believe that someone has to have played at a high level to be a good coach.

Not sure why you have something against Benson. He is the goalkeeping coach - the one area of the team where there has been visible improvement this season. It is a pity that the other coaches like Lowe and Johnson have not had the same impact.

That's because Kaminsky has probably forgotten more than Benson will ever know.

Quality keepers just need putting through their paces day in day out, thankfully the recruitment dept found us one.

Perhaps Benson will learn something from him.

These arent my opinions per se, more what I think will happen. I know for fact that Amari'i Bell has sadly been offered a new deal. Rovers plan on Nyambe is to let him go on a free as they'll get a better deal at the EPPP Tribunal than they would if they extended by 12-months and sold for a fee. Stoke is his preferred destination.

That's been the plan with Nyambie for over 12 months imo i called it ages ago.

However its come about or whoever is to blame it's another shambles. From our lots point of view though they'll get a few million and nice sell on clause probably. Cheaper than giving him a bumper new deal and Mowbray removes another obstacle he doesn't want with minimum fuss.

Then he'll get to waste the proceeeds on another dolloper to rotate with JRC according to opposition.

    Great.

I really don't understand your obsession with appointing a Director of Football Chaddy.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A recipe for disaster with said Director at complete loggerheads with the manager.

Let's appoint the best manager we can and leave him in full charge of all footballing matters. Let's appoint the best Coach of his choice we can to assist him and Let's appoint the best CEO we can, (most definitely NOT the choice of the manager) to run the Club behind the scenes.

That goes against ALL Venky logic, it's almost like it suits them or someone for us to sit in this division wasting company millions.

Had they remotely tried that at any point in the last decade we'd have at least have had a flirt with promotion.

As sure as night follows day,the self preservation society of Footballers and Managers close ranks even in the face of complete shitness.

What next...the Soccer Saturday Muppets putting the boot into the evil Rovers fans again?

Wouldn't be surprised i mean how dare we get angry and worried at a run like that. We are only Blackburn Rovers the smallest backwater club in England with the budget of Bamber Bridge Fc.

Should be so grateful to still have the God of midtable football wasting that budget on his mates.

It’s easy to be gracious when you’ve left Ewood with three points and your team barely getting their shorts dirty.

The two things that made me laugh from Woodgate’s comments though-

‘Tony Mowbray’s teams play good football’.

    Wrong, Jonathan.

    ‘He’s the most passionate coach’.

Wrong again, Jonathan. He practically falls asleep on the touch line and looks bored out of his head on March days....

I think it's easy for them to confuse waffle with passion.

Just because he can talk a glass eye to sleep about football doesn't mean he's a passionate manager. He comes across more like a fan or pundit at times, commentating on things whilst remaining detached from it himself.

A rare talent considering he's talking about his own flipping team losing again.

Are they thick though? They are cute enough to arse cover for him, whilst laughing at the fans off air I would imagine.

I'd say no one can believe they haven't sacked him

Just don't think they pay enough attention to be honest and of course the football old boys club is alive and well. Mostly exists on hype, lies and bull shit.

It's the arrogance that gets me most they don't listen to fans who pay to watch all the time.  They prefer to just look at the stats and speak to another pundit who happens to be a managers pal.  Lazy tossers just chucking out soundbytes most of the time.

It's funny though as my only memory really of him as an opposition manager is when Boro came to Ewood and counter attacked us off the park. That was in the dying embers of Kean so we were rubbish. Very much like we are now, sideways, backwards, slow and completely toothless.

We've actually seen some of that stuff from TMs Rovers at times and it is the style that suited us most. He abandoned it though for the going nowhere rubbish we see now.

Just why he saw fit for such a sea change is the million dollar question, almost like he's trying to hold us back. For the last 18 moths what we've seen mostly on the pitch is more what you'd associate with Kean & Coyle = a confusing mess.
