  1. Fortunately Briggs is 90% full of shit and ever the opportunist. He's had a fight sorted with half the HWs on the planet in the last few years. Not happening.
  2. Clubs budgets set in the summer will probably be part used to square off what's left owing from this season. Plus plugging other gaps and paying back extra short term borrowing. All depends on where Vs stand on this and what shape their spare cash for next season's budget is in. Would be nice to able to get back the wasted 7 million. That's never happening so more than likely we'll be selling a few of our good young players cheap just to get by. If there's any buyers that is.
  3. Tyson should stay retired even from the exhibition stuff, stick to his cannabis farm. He isn't a tip tap fighter so no way are him and Holyfield going to ponce about and people wouldn't want to see that it's pointless. I don't think he's any intention to be honest as he's become a good self publicist so he'll be making a few dollars out of all this somehow. Trouble is as the past tells us he's very easily distracted by unscrupulous promoters and big money.
  4. Same in Chorley they've popped up all over in the last few years yet you rarely see anyone in them when driving past. Must charge a lot for a crop to be able to survive. Maybe if they are claiming Govt help now in the lockdown it would be a good time to look at their books and see how they arrive at the figures they are claiming ?
  5. Hang the bastards no ifs buts maybe's we didn't mean its. Still cold blooded murder and there is no reason nor excuse. Looks like the world has lost another one who was trying to make a positive contribution to society. RIP Aya. Hang the bastards.
  6. It's amazing how different it looks when you look past hyperbole and put some actual meat on the bones. Coming to Rovers and hopefully upper end Championship football week in week out is a big step up at the later end of his career. Underwhelming it has to be said, there must be something a bit better out there with a bit more potential for a decent number of years in them. Changing keeper ever year or two just like changing centre backs every season isn't the way to build a team with promotion as the ultimate aim. Trying to keep the likes of Walton makes more sense.
  7. The magistrates courts up and down the country will end up busier than usual when they finally resume. Plenty on threatening/abusive behaviour and assault no doubt.
  8. Amazing, surreal still to this day. The town will never see scenes like that again.
  9. Makes a change, when Rovers are playing regularly it usually causes a need to drink more.
  10. Good signing on paper and he still knew were the net was but his legs were gone gone gone from what i remember he really struggled to run around. Still some good touches though but spent lot of time on his arse taking 5 mins to get up again ? Mind you he still had more about him than Mick Duxbury !
  11. It's quite simple for me really Hodgson liked to over complicate things but didn't get the right people in to do the basics first. Ended up with a squad with cheap rubbish filling the gaps, big money wasted in areas that matter and inbetween still some good solid Prem players who struggled with his continental methods. I think him not knowing the British market and expecting Prem players to be able to conform to his way in a short space of time was the main problem. It's a shame because there was periods it looked like we might be onto something with him but in the end he made a right dogs dinner of the squad.
  12. Key to all this is how the banks handle clubs overdrafts and borrowings as in time big money will come flowing back in inevitably. There'll be a lot of Dubai / Brunei based football investment vehicles fielding a lot of long term borrowing enquiries. There'll be a few of those about to go tits up as well.
  13. Which just makes it even more of a potential farce over here as soon as it gets going it might have to be pulled again. Utterly pointless even thinking about finishing it. Something tells me this Govt wants the revenue stream soon as though so they'll sit back and let the farce unfold no doubt.
  14. Travis and Nyambe will be the easiest to cash in on for quick money. Probably not even enough in the new market to cover the huge hole blown by the ridiculous couple of overspends. That's going to look even worse now than it did before, just a quick reminder to those who like to chuck heroic status out to the manager and his directors constantly.
  15. Maybe start next season as usual whether behind closed doors or not with teams on the points and standings as they are now. A 'long season' if you like. Be crazy points totals but it can't be argued everyone doesn't have a fair chance again of sealing their fates. Might actually be the fairest solution, the 2019/2021 season !
  16. Who's suing who ? I think there might be plenty players/managers/clubs who feel forced to play returning the favour on these potentially suing if it gets null and void. Its a minefield either way they'd be better selecting the captains of each team and playing games out live on an xbox or something !
  17. Some really good ideas there Stuart but more than likely way beyond the thinking of the FA and co.
  18. Exactly ! I love the game itself and the club but along with the shenanigans at Ewood over the last 10 years that exposed some of the self serving undercurrent in football and now this it really leaves you wondering why bother. No club is immune to the greed and although Mowbray's tenure has restored some of Rovers real values that were stripped away it still rankles the wages average at best players are on now at this level. I don't really blame the players too much it's the market they are in and it all starts at the top this gravy train. Rick Parry i can warm to, Gordon Taylor represents everything that is wrong with the game now just looking to drain maximum out into players and agents pockets. Finish this season if need be between Autumn/Christmas then just have a shorter season following it. I'm sure we can manage a season without the cups it might recharge a bit of interest in them the following year when they are back. All we have though are businessmen and suits at the top looking to maximize what they can from what might be on offer. Nothing to do with sporting integrity.
  19. Agree the parachute money seriously needs looking at, maybe not scrapping but policing properly to make sure it's used for what it was designed for. Most of it goes straight out into pockets like the rest of cash in football.
  20. No such thing as integrity when you just want to push it to get games on to get tv money in and sort out the Champions/Euro spots but scrap relegation. Big clubs big clubs big clubs, money money money. Do it properly for everybody IF it's safe to do so otherwise write this season off and start afresh When it's safe to do so. That's integrity.
  21. They'll probably be extending them all now.
  22. Money as always will force the issue, sickening. It'll be a right cock up if it gets the go ahead. In other news nice to see the first thing clubs doing is cancelling agent payments. Tough for some of those lads it's their job but there will be plenty getting their comeuppance their land of milk and honey could come to a permanent halt. Not before time.
  23. Fair play on reaching agreements although not sure what other choices they actually had, like the rest of us.
  24. Blackeye Rovers did all right for a while, who needs the crazy gang !
  25. Agree definitely need to focus on the young fans but that's difficult because they've taken all the craic out of it for some. Shutting the DE where youth liked to gather and have banter with away fans is a dropped bollock in that. They aim more for the young kids and families but they just don't seem to want the hassle of youth at Ewood. Should reopen the DE lower and make a section for 500 16-21 year olds and let it catch on Rovers is the place to be on a Sat afternoon not stood in the town centre or hanging around the streets. To do that they'd have to make it affordable and cater for them on that concourse food, drink, music wise etc. Yes there'd be some dick heads but there always has been yet other clubs seem to handle it, i'll repeat again our lot don't want the bother.
