Road tax, car tax, VED call it whatever it all amounts to the same thing. It all goes into one pot and out of it only a tiny fraction goes towards keep the roads up to date.

We chased the Dahlin insurance money for years but ended up losing out. At least that's the last I heard how it panned out unless that got pilfered as well. That related to him being a crock when we signed him though. -
Pedantic sheriffs badge.

More cars each family has more road tax is gathered and as we know only too well round here only a small percentage of it goes to what it should. The rest just disappears, anything any govt can push on the public to make more revenue from they will. More gridlock means license to introduce more toll roads, more parking fees, fines, speeding and other offence takings and we'll see more congestion charges. It's a right racket.

It's a humungous punt RHodes cost money but had a great scoring pedigree, Rudy Gestede was a 6'4" out and out target man that was a punt for a few hundred grand. Incomparable really, What happened to the Brereton is one for the future there's no rush guff if they now say they expected him to hit the ground running ? It's bull at worst mate or very very silly recruitment at best. -

How could they possibly have hoped for that with those two when they've no goalscoring pedigree between them and both get played out of position. One of them only used bit part anyway. What a load of tosh as is expecting a 20 million quid cheque for Dack as and when they chose to accept it. Unbelievable what some people will swallow it's now backside covering to the 8th degree they've ballsed up with shocking recruitment and they know it. The injury to the best potential 10 million plus asset hasn't helped but it really isn't the root cause. Gally & Brereton scoring Rhodes & gestede levells of goals.......... As if for gods sake ! -

Totally pointless signing Rhodes at this point paying a fortune in wages for a midtable finish. Different story if they could get his money down to a more realistic level on a free for a few years contract with the aim of setting up to provide him with ammunition. Just like before though you still need a good defence and keeper at the other end or it's wasted other than keep you comfortable in midtable. -

When you've thrown 6/7 million down the drain that holds little weight i'm afraid. Majority of fans want ticket prices slashing to get more fans in the ground not for their own reasons. It's usually the ones who pay whatever looking for something to entice those who won't back in because it makes attending a better experience for everyone when there is a few more in. Also saying not being able to sell Dack is a huge set back holds even less weight as wouldn't it be a huge set back in itself to lose a fit firing Bradley Dack just to balance the books because of piss poor recruitment ???? -

Throw a few names around that they know we can't afford then hide behind that. Meanwhile go through the bargain bins and old pals little black book to see if anything can be unearthed for nothing. Standard January. -
It would also require better management on and off the park and the severing of putting money in agents pockets. Non of that will happen under the Venky model of running this club i'm afraid. To be honest he's got some front saying the Brentford way is what we should be doing when he's spewed the money he has on who he has then flogged them a future star on the cheap because they'd fallen out. But why would he say that and totally contradict his actions ? Lost the plot or hinting through interviews that his advice isn't being heeded by those pushing the buttons ?

All about the player again and letting him get fixed up. Just like letting others sit on their contracts eating up wages. Then some say the attitude towards FF P is relaxed. The attitude to everything seems to relaxed at times. They'll never build a promotion challenging team like that. -
Yet again if you were owning and funding a football club to the tune these lot are you'd be asking serious questions about this. Along with the other obvious one but when you let people have what appears to be free reign these things will happen.

Marshalls a good player at mid championship level so it's very odd no one has taken a punt on him and clubs keep letting him go. -
If they were serious about it all the first thing any govt should do is electrify all its public transport and make that the law. Then ban any gas guzzling petrol / diesel non commercial vehicles above say 2.5 litre engines. To do this there'd need to be a period of transition and it would need subsidising so now we are back at Tax. Something most probably don't mind paying if it goes towards what its supposed to, which is rarely the case. The impending doom scenario and the lack of actual action don't weight up i'm afraid and as usual they'll end up looking to joe public to carry the can.

I agree but that's the whole point of why he should be shown the door but TM is far too happy to let things like this lie. Whichever way you dress it up carrying the likes of him holds the club back now in the transfer market. Not ruthless enough down there buy a long way, that doesn't mean they have to be nasty but the good of the first team comes first. Carrying deadwood or players for sentimental reasons doesn't gain you anything on the FFP balance sheet. -

No way is he on the wages of a league 1 or 2 player he'll be on Championship wages. The fact he's never had a sniff after being a favourite might suggest he has a very good appearance bonus or something built in. Also no takers for him despite his pedigree in the leagues below point to him being on good wages here. -

But why keep those wages on the books if you can shift them and put the cash to better use ? These things are the difference between trying to move forwards and standing still. -

It's strange how everyone there seems happy for him to sit it out it must be very lucrative to him to do so. Hope they don't end up in a similar situation with Mulgrew. The players deserved some reward for the promotion season but it really looks like they went over the top with these 2. -

I think if they sign him it'll be as no 1 i'm not sure i'd want a similar keeper anyway as that would mean rotating keepers !!! Agree he's settled in a bit now but is he worth paying a fee for ? -
I'd certainly get Feb out the way first get as many points on board as possible then see where we are at. Sadly i think the keep all the old pros and favs happy and the chase to finish as near as they can to last year will dictate. We had similar under Bowyer when a season was petering out and the opportunity was there but he didn't take it. Self preservation will rule but personally March onwards i'd blood as many as possible. So maybe we'll finish a few places below last season but so what i doubt it makes much difference in prize money. Getting some more youth involved is surely better for the bigger picture. All depends how the next month goes though.

Climate catastrophe and flying in the same breath ? The climate changes and has done for millions of years and there's nothing we can do about that. As predicted several years ago before the hysteria we were about to experience a once every god knows how many years change and to expect crazy weather. That was not long after the coldest winter in decades around 09/10 when they were telling us the planet could be cooling and we might enter a new ice age. Amazing how all this gets swept under the carpet. Sadly the stuff going on in the amazon and now Australia does fall into the bracket of reckless man made climate change. Gas guzzling USA and smog covered parts of China just add to it. Of course in the UK working class blokes driving 10 year old diesel cars they were all advised to buy by the last Labour lot get the blame for it. Probably because there's a Tory tax opportunity in it somewhere in the near future. Shite state of affairs - stop cutting trees down and plant them instead.

Sign Walton for an undisclosed fee more like, that's probably why he's keeping what powder he has dry. Old pals act to be in play again i reckon. -

Shearer always wanted to wear the black and white at some point but i'm sure Keegan swayed that move just as much as his love for his hometown. Think Shearer has said as much, similar with Dunn when Bolton had the pull of Allardyce but we had Hughes and probably offered a few more quid lets not kid ourselves. Would Dunn have shunned big Sams notlob for Ince or Kean ? Very much doubt it unless the numbers were impossible to refuse, which they would no doubt have been under the king snake and co %%%% -

Used to be Rovers strongholds even way before the Jack era. Like anywhere else lads move away and there are a lot of people from Manchester / Bolton area move up there now. No doubt the local youth are TV team supporters now by and large.
