  1. But i guess it's that balance for a club like us in the grand scheme of things. Somebody punts 1 or 2 million to pinch him now then no not worth it. Some club prepared now to spend 5 - 10 mill on potential then you've got to seriously consider it. We've had too many not made the grade they come round every few years. The Duffs and Joneses etc come around every 10 but it seems quite obvious there is something already there at a young age. Not just a case of hey if he fills out / gets taller / loses his puppy fat he might be a baller.
  2. This Buckley talk is very similar to the Jason Lowe talk of years ago. A hell of a long way to go yet and as we've seen with Brereton and countless others nobody is worth this stupid money talk until they prove something.
  3. The Dosser v The Tosser Or the windmill v the runner. Couldn't really care less who wins this battle of 2 of the most overated heavies in modern history. Do have a feeling though that Fury might just spring a KO surprise. Wilders been getting away with it far too long.
  4. The same Ben Marshall whose been through god knows how many clubs since he was here ? The same Marshall whose now about to play in the 12th tier ? How many mates of his post on here his name comes up every window ?
  5. Bell reminds me of Henley, quick off the mark but not a defensive natural he looks like a player from another position 'trying' to be a defender. It just doesn't come naturally to him certainly not at this level. The amount of stick he's had on here i'm amazed a couple of half decent efforts and playing in a 5 nil win suddenly cloud judgement again. It's time to improve on this one this is precisely what we keep moaning we want, he hasn't proved good enough back up and never will. Let him go in summer and lets have a look at something else otherwise he'll be on another good 2 year generous Tony deal and be in and out of the side again producing the same stuff. Nothing against the lad i wish him well but lge 1 is where he's at.
  6. No Iv'e had a bit of empathy with him for not really getting runs of games at times when he's done ok. Aside from the daft tactical (rotation) policy though it probably says it all how many others have been used there since he's been here. There's no Nyambe here he's just getting down to the grind because his deals ticking down by the look of it.
  7. That's all we need really right now we've not had one for years. Robinson wasn't a great and had his flaws but strengths as well i'd call him a solid steady Prem keeper for a spell at Rovers. Since then, Steele physically the weakest keeper iv'e seen at rovers, Raya talented but raw and erratic and now Walton who seems somewhere between the two maybe ? We are long overdue a good steady pair of hands just like we are long overdue one good season in this league.
  8. Point A - Correct and an example of how a top pro should look after himself. Sadly it'll be lost on a lot of championship jobbers. Point B - Woah there, way over the top he's getting on and as we've seen numerous times the legs can go overnight. Asses him at the end of the season but if money is tight it might be best used elsewhere.
  9. He's shown some poor judgement of high balls and crosses a tad too much for me, sometimes not under pressure.
  10. Everything about him seems to suggest lower league keeper but that kind of thing with the high balls is something you've got to be good at in league 1. So if he brings that and can kick and get down at least competently he should be ok here.
  11. His groupies are ridiculous, time and again fed speculative bull yet they still take everything he says as gospel. He must have about 1 hit in every 50 the hot air blowing fud.
  12. Nixon is a twit The end.
  13. Vague schoolboy memories of that win away at Boro and that was completely out of the blue like yesterday probably. A complete one off where everything goes your way for once. It's the championship it throws up crazy stuff regularly so i don't think its a turning point at all TM will reel them in again before long. Great result though and this team is capable of pasting opponents now and again if it slips its leash.
  14. Give or take 100 and I'll bet you a quid ?
  15. Today is another get out of jail card for the Ewood bean counters, we go with what we have. As you were !
  16. Footballing god status tonight lets give him credit when it's due, well done TM. Grand scheme of things nothing really changes, the less he has to pick from the better he does and the better the team performs. About time all the dice fell in our favour and we caught some team having a mare.
  17. What a strange feeling, nothing to moan about tonight Tony is back to being a football genius and the play off chase is back on ! COYB
  18. I doubt there's much to see in the Hart deal other than another poor player judgement call. Think they just kept him around and loaned him out to see if he shaped up a bit. You'd like to think he won't be on big wages and with a lot of time on loan there should be a contribution to that so not a huge gamble. Trouble is at Rovers when one deal starts to look suspicious then another, they all do going off what's happened in the recent past. Sadly football is chock full of people doing people favours and jobs for the boys. It's what ruins it really and these days things are a lot more transparent than they were so everything is open to scrutiny.
  19. That would be no surprise either.
  20. Just wait till we buy Walton and give Bell new deal ! I'm calling it now.
  21. Oh how we could do with a Don we are long overdue one.
  22. Exactly, it's just lip service depending on what he's being called out on. To say the Brentford moneyball method is the way to go after selling them our young keeper cheap . Then whacking that towards a 5 million fee for Gallagher is a bit insulting to be honest On top of Brereton and big contracts for over 30's Downing and Johnson as well !!! Billy bullshit I'm afraid.
  23. He's highlighted Sheff Utd a few times but he just isn't capable or isn't allowed to sign the right players for it let alone implement it. He couldn't in lge 1.
  24. Mulgrew might get away with the odd game there if the oppo aren't particularly strong on their right. More than likely he'll get found out pretty quickly if he gets a run in that position especially away from home. Seen him in bits and bats in games in his time here as left of a back 3 and occasionally LB in games TM has changed formation a few times in game. Never looked anything other than uncomfortable and not right happy being there. I guess it's all about how he'd acquit himself.
  25. I know it's unavoidable in many ways we've come to that but i'm just highlighting the kind of thing that contributes to pushing this club towards FFP again. Fact is Bell was the back up LB to Williams and would probably have been to Cunningham but time and again he's proved he isn't up to it. Competent cover should be there as now is the time to claim that spot. Expensively paid old players filling there who are very unlikely to be here next season. So back to square one.
