No they haven't got it in them. It all starts at the top though and works its way down. Just enough is enough at this club Mind you they'd probably sit back and watch us fall a division again if we were really struggling. So no surprise if there's no freshing up of things in the next few years at all

He'd likened us to Millwall etc when we came up then in the last round of criticism he decided he was going to model us on Sheff Utd. When that wasn't working he switched to Preston and now it's Brentford. Buy low, play, sell high, certainly the moneyball will appeal to Venkys and more so their 'advisors' but it's been tried before here inbetween making it pointless by wasting tens of millions. Now for the love of god we have Mowbray saying it after selling our young keeper to them and spending 12 million on 2 underwhelming players !!!! The guy has either lost it of he's taking the piss it really is reaching that point now i'm beginning to suspect he also is just another stooge for whatever is going on. -
Hill's been having a rant at Bolton. I genuinely wonder what he could do with the budget Mowbray has here. This long balling a dwarf up front whilst sticking your 6'3" marquee striker signing on the wing is beyond ridiculous now. It serves nothing, never worked and never will chufing sick of this type of thing.

Still poor pal whichever way it's looked at. Only 2k more for a local game than what usually turn up.
-
Cancelled each other out as often happens in these games with both sides taking the 'dare not lose' approach rather than going for it. Both sides in poor form and it showed, very little inspiration and the usually disjointed trademark stuff from Rovers. At least they didn't get tactically undone today but as usual defending an early lead is an alien concept in the Blackburn team. Poor home turn out but no surprise whatsoever and the usual mass invasion of the home stands that only exists in Preston minds was nowhere to be seen. It's going to be another boring January.

If there's such a thing as an honest version of Kean then he is it he really is just insulting fans now with his claptrap. Mind you having had many face to face meeting with our funders he'll now know just how gullible they are no doubt. Winging it this fella is, hopefully all the dice drop in our favour today. It won't be a turning point because everything will change again in the coming weekls but it would be a massive much needed win. -
Waggot is to tickets what his gaffer is to team selections -- all over the place week to week according to the opposition. The only people who need to get a grip is that pair.
-
So you think it's ok to introduce yourself with an empty rant yet take offence at so called middle aged men going through many midlife crisis on a forum ? Double standards there methinks, that's Preston all over though, only ever turn out for Liverpool pre season at home and Rovers away. Proper plastic that is.

TM like many of his predecessors is fortunate to be at a club whose owners and fans will swallow guff as long as they do before they blow. He's been trading on it now for 12 months the only thing that saved him from many collective pennies dropping was a decent finish to last season. That earned him the right to the summer and gave us all hope we were readjusting back to the championship and looking forward to pushing on. Regardless of the injuries there hasn't been much to say we are now moving in the right direction on or off the pitch it's more resembled job done, back to treading water and be happy about it. Whilst not expecting top 6 a still think there have been and continue to be wasted opportunities both in the transfer market and on the pitch. People might be miserable at times but they aren't stupid they can see how it's unfolding and what he says and how it often just doesn't add up, it's that old feeling of being placated again. That's why he's getting stick. -

They know they'll have to pay big fees and wages to some of the names they throw about. That gives an automatic get out clause that's why it's bull designed to make it look like they are doing something. For what they've blown on the two strikers and their wages etc they could have signed someone like Assombalonga and maybe had a decent return on the pitch. They simply don't want to go down that road, same with the keeper situation, how serious were they about some of the better names when in the background a favoured agent might have been pitching his client Walton instead ? Either get serious and get after some quality and pay the money or stop wasting peoples time and stick to the freebies, risky loans and kids but at least he honest about it. -

To be fair we have owners and managers who tend to freely supply ammunition. -

Just trying to create excuses to justify his over zealous chopping and changing. Subtly baffling those who stump up the money as well probably. -
It'll all be about stopping Preston and it'll take about ten mins for them to fathom us out

In other words 'I must find a place for my captain'....

What the hell is all this get used to the way we play guff again. If you have a style of play you find players to fit that surely ? If you change weekly in fact daily quite often then it doesn't really matter there's just no point signing square pegs for square holes. Sick to the back teeth of reading his backside covering jibberish now all designed to keep the idiots who fund us off his back. I absolutely pray for a new approach come summer. -

This 100% His version of planning seems to be well put it off and just see what happens. Should have had a clear out in summer whilst there was chance and made some room. -

Yet this guy brings him in at 35 years old to try and cover several inadequaces instead of looking to rinse the last of his strengths out of him to make us a better team. Sums up Mowbrays approach compared to the likes of Allardyce to a tee. -
They change their minds on a weekly basis regarding the DE and the upper/lower thing. Tried posturing like they do with home fans but it didn't work so they climbed down again. Pathetic it really is. Fact is since Waggot set foot in this place the crowds and in particular ST holders have gone backwards, we've wasted millions on signings and he's spent a fortune on the internal side. If his antics with the running of the rest of the club are as incompetent as his handling of the DE, away fans and ticket prices we'll go nowhere fast. Plonker.

I'm amazed some are still under the impression we'd have sold Dack this window then spent the money ! Come on when was the last time that happened ? When was the last time we did big business in January anyway ? No way was that happening. A) I think they'd have held him to summer to max out his value B ) The money, guys, has already been spent. Vs have had an overall almost balanced player sale v spend, can't see that changing. Now, back to this game, it just seems to have swung in PKEs favour a bit more and no doubt they'll sell out their cup final now. Expect bother and a 1 pm again next season.
-
Ben's one for the future though ! Why spend the same money on somebody who can actually already do what they are supposed to do and pay for what you are getting when you can gamble the same amount on a long shot who's shown nothing. But might have an outside chance of making the grade..... in 5 years. Now, back to talking about that promotion challenging side they wanted to build over 5 or 6 windows starting about 3 ago ?

This is what we've lacked in the squad for years, another actual striker who's consistent. Maybe not a 15 a season player but someone who you know regularly scores and sets a few up besides your key men. Armstrong had a few in league 1 and he's managed the step up, inconsistent yes but he's still only about 22 himself isn't he ? These are the types worth spending a few million on at our level. It's beyond stupid to lay out the huge money we have for strikers with no real goal scoring pedigree. Then they stand there on the side lines scratching their heads and thinking up every excuse in the book as to why they aren't scoring. Football genius ! -

Well he's a left winger so worth a go if it's a cheap loan i suppose we've nothing to lose. Just have very little faith now in this manager and his avenues of recruitment. Any coincidence that the best player he signed wasn't an old boy or one of the usual supply lines as far as i'm aware. -

Him on his own would probably contribute more than Brereton and Gallagher put together and still cost less. They don't want to take those sort of gambles though and i'm not sure it's football related. When you look at the connections in those two signings it's not hard to fathom Rovers only like doing business with certain people. It's something that's held the club back all the time under this lot they never learn. -
If the have genuine ambition and bring in players with genuine ambition the motivation should be there automatically. Going nowhere and shrugging shoulders accepting mediocrity as 'where we are' really won't. The gaffer and the club as a whole have to really want it and give off that vibe. The old 'never put off till tomorrow what you can do today' isn't very evident under this regime i'm afraid.
