As said before i think owners can hire managers out of their own pocket and navigate around FFP. There should be something in it anyway to allow management changes as they are common place in football and sometimes clubs have no choice. Having said that it doesn't seem to suit the way Vs fund the club, via VLL via VH group. Something beneficial accounting wise goes on there i assume.

I'm pretty much with you on that although i thought TM would have enough sway with them to say no if he wasn't that keen on it. There was also something floating about that they shared the same agent at that time though no idea if correct or whether it would have any bearing on that signing.

The youthful 3 pronged attack of Armstrong, Gallagher and Brereton looks quite intriguing on paper, combined cost c15 million. Be nice if he can actually get a tune out of them but i'd have preferred Downing saving his legs for PNE. Dread to think what the tombola will throw out for that one.

Some of his comments make it sound a bit like he wasn't but he's put his name to it in the past. Ben gets 2 today and we win he will again.

They usually sell most yes. Burnley are always restricted and Leeds can be anything from 3 to 6k. So all it really means is THEY see Rovers as their cup final......
-
Now he's busy absolving himself of any responsibility in regards to Brereton, you know the striker HE paid 6 or 7 million for when the team was screaming out for investment in defence etc. A very fortunate guy to have such clueless employers.

The Lemon tea comes out once every 5 weeks and everybody loves it and asks for it more often but Tony sees no reason to change or defend his tea rotation policy. -
'With sales approaching 2 thousand....'

Tea lady got removed by Steve's brainfart cost cutting so now Tony brings in the leaves and bags. Black tea, green tea, mint tea, fruit tea, chamomile tea, nettle tea, darjeeling, earl grey, PG, Yorkshire and Tetleys all thrown in one pot. The result is a rather unbalanced unpalatable brew but some still drink it up because they are scared it'll be bovril instead if someone else is employed to do it. -
Waggots bottled it already as predicted with not even 2k sold upstairs yet ? Where did they get this mug from he's firkin useless.

Agree, the first team itself now really needs a whole new fresh approach, an identity and a solid first 11 where possible who all know their roles. Shuffling the deckchairs is worth a try and at least there wouldn't be too much upheaval but of course some noses would be put out of joint unless they are open to it. Rovers now is very much jobs for the boys though so there is nobody in power who could oversee this sadly. -

Given Mowbrays Boro connections that bothers me greatly i hope someone is keeping an eye on all this. -
Losing Dack tough as it is has now given him the free pass for not hitting 70 points and maybe not bettering last seasons place. Of course it's going to have a massive impact but the 12 million seems irrelevant now in his mind. As does making an attempt to shift some out and bring in a bit of flair. His limited view of it all and lack of nous will hamper almost as much as Dack missing, clubs get key players injured, they find a way to cope. Especially when you've a squad still containing FIVE strikers and several who can play in Dacks position, at least that's what he told us when signing them. A lot of these were recruited to so called cover these eventualities for gods sake.

Once the upper has finally sold they probably have a massive late rush, hence the moaning about no pay on the day. Not sure if we got that at theirs but we rarely got it at Bolton when they got it at Ewood. Then they'll all be moaning about queues and missing the kick off ! Knobbers by name......

What delivery are they going to get on the end of when one is 5 ft nothing, the other is on the right and the other 2 on the bench ? I love this line of excuses and what 'might' happen from the usual gang who live in Tony's pockets. What makes you think we are suddenly going to see things we've rarely seen with this manager and set of players ? And even if so what makes you think it'll last for more than a few games before a certain type is reverted to ? He doesn't play that way he doesn't want to and the players he's recruited are in the main not suited to his methods. It's a New Year but don't expect anything new at all. -

It usually has when he's tried it all across the park, penny won't drop though because he doesn't want it to. -
He's done it to himself if that's the case ! I have wondered recently how much of this increasingly crazy swap and change policy is just him being him and how much is it sticking the middle finger up just a tad ?
-
I just hope he retires at the end of the season it would save a lot of hassle and force the issue with no one to blame. Obviously the snowflakes amongst the support would have a breakdown and melt but we might end up with someone who'll role their sleeves up and get stuck in instead of winging it.

Mowbray knew that though he touched on it in an interview not long after the Brereton signing which seemed to go over the heads at the time. Selling Lenihen for good money might actually be the only solution to that little financial problem, 5 million might plug a hole for a bit and allow a bit of incoming action on loan or whatever. If that happened i'd have a bit of faith in a decent manager digging out a competent centre half from somewhere within our budget. This fella, no chance, we'd end up with Nyambe covering there and allowing captain fantastic mk2 to stay at RB. -

Gorrin at Oxford, might already have been mentioned.
