  1. If they were waiting for anything it would be for one of their advisors to advise them on the cheapest yes man available.
  2. Just reiterate what I've been saying for ages. The most frustrating and confusing manager I've seen at Ewood. Far far away from being the worst but his very ceiling is average. In terms of on the pitch stuff and signings Most annoying thing is he isn't a long way from being good but he's too many bad habits and blind spots. Briefly threatens to move away from them only to revert to type first chance he gets Keep the group happy.
  3. Why ? He's found a formula to keep the playing squad happy. The owners backing and enough points to keep majority of match going fans onside. Plus surrounded by his mates, bloody genius really. And like I said if he could apply that level of guile to the playing side we'd get somewhere. It'll never happen though.
  4. Very crafty operators this fella and his mates are proving to be. If only he was as wily at putting a good first 11 together and sticking with it.
  5. Oh the old tight hamstring, that he's been told he has no doubt......
  6. Oh look Bennets in at RB again. What's up with Nyambie ? That lad isn't made of glass.
  7. Mowbray himself did say they were looking to drill a more conservative approach into him OR in other words drill out of him that youthful fearless stuff. Modern day robotic approach sadly, he might become a better 3 yard sideways and backwards passer but at what price ? We don't want a midfield full of Corry Evans we need a nice mixture, the one that was shaping up with Tav playing his game and Evans doing his stuff.
  8. They are just subsidising it like they always have done though aside from a brief spell they turned the taps off which led to mass sales and relegation. Wasn't it pointed out a while back that to stay on the right side of FFP the club has to find about 3 million per annum as its own income contribution alongside owner input ? Cairney went out of the blue for about that then at one point Vs wrote off 3 million of shares. More recently Raya's departure again for around that magic number ? Wouldn't be surprised if they have to find someone to sell for that again in next 12 months, however in the overall picture if they can keep investing as they are now it might be a small price to pay. The key is to spend it properly on fees and wages, that bit is wide open to debate.
  9. Samuel was a case in point soon as he was fit he had a good game for the U23's and he was back in the squad, albeit temporarily. That guy has had about half a dozen good games in his entire time here. Chapman has been frozen out before his real Rovers career has begun. If he's been a pain in the arse send him on loan lower down to think on his sins or threaten to sack him. Simple.
  10. I'm surprised you're missing the difference between dropped and rotated.
  11. You'll find those supporters at every club. It might surprise you but there are far more demanding crowds and fanbases even in the championship that Rovers. On the owners yes it's hard work but again there other boards who put far more pressure on their managers. We haven't really got one. Plus he's had the best backing of anyone under them post Kean and basically appears to run the football side of the club behind the scenes..Also when a manger at this level spends fees of 5 or 7 million on single players fans have a right to expect them to be half decent in my opinion. Sorry but there is no sob story to be had for Mowbray the guy is on a very good number here. He knows it as well.
  12. Now now don't be twisting peoples words leave that to Mr Screenshot and his empty twitter vacuum.
  13. Some players could piss in Mowbrays tea cup everyday and still get picked. Others well they only seem to have to look at him the wrong way but the way he chops and changes you'd really have to piss him off not to get a chance.
  14. Forest hired an agent to help SELL Brereton, lets just think about that one.
  15. Doesn't matter where they come from or what they cost or didn't if they at least look like they might do the 'biz' . Stick that in yer flex.
  16. Iv'e heard Pearson was sounded out more than once in the past, not recently but before TM and he didn't fancy it. No idea why maybe prefers to be down South or something.
  17. As opposed to going blowing 7 million on someone else's. Yeah definitely ?
  18. Full allocation sold out or a reduced one ? Either way good effort although we've now missed it through dawdling and thinking it wouldn't ? Win on the cards now though !
  19. At 30 quid a ticket and recent disappointing performances i wouldn't be too sure of a big following but anything around 1500 is decent. Think we'll grind out a draw here, calling the team selection and set up under this mon is like calling the lottery numbers...impossible. How he'll set them up is equally as hard but one thing is easier to call it usually ends up in a similar performance. However we seem more resilient these days so i think there's enough about us for another draw. Hudds 1 Rovers 1 1,262 travellers
  20. We have been a bit more solid to be fair so that's a plus and no reason we can't go there and get a draw. He's got to get balance in the side again though, strong midfield and no Bell for me.
  21. This is exactly what he does, did it away at Bristol miles away in front of a few hundred travelling fans, got away with it. Gets a bit bolder because it worked and the formula that was winning games back to back is now out the window again. Won't come back along with a more pressing attack minded game and remain unchanged until the fans are about to tun again and he might fear the owners getting twitchy. He's a crafty old sod is Tony he tries to keep everybody happy bit by bit, keeps him in the job. He's very much landed on the 'risk v reward' balance.
  22. Most of them have invisible friends it seems. Something someone said to me, you can have all the sports science, dieticians, masseurs, personal fitness coaches and drones you want but it's all a bit pointless if you have players that just can't pass to each other. You can improve a footballer but you can't build them from scratch.
  23. No i genuinely believe he has something to offer that role 'if' he has been as involved with some of the rebuilding behind the scenes as he gets credit for. We are in danger of becoming too focused on that i fear at times when all the focus should be on the best first team 11. Wherever we finish this season i'll still to my original thoughts that we must change manager at the end of the season to try and progress. I don't see them wanting to let him go so the next best thing is move him into an in house role overseeing stats etc and the football depts. Could even be a player welfare officer or something as well. Shame to waste his experience and familiarity with the workings of the club and owners but as first team manager he'll always be a 1 step forward 1 step back type.
  24. I watched two strikingly different interviews with him in the last week that in my mind added to the thinking he should be DoF. Pre Wigan when he was dour as ever building them up the moaning how hard his job was leaving out players who'd worked hard all week. So much so they cut him off mid sentence which was ignorant but probably understandable. This was pre game and it was very uninspirational and more like preparing us for the unambitious grind to come. Then the stuff on the video from behind the scenes where he seems bright eyed, clear talking and almost excited by it all. As well as very knowledgeable and clear about what they are doing. To me his real strengths lie behind the scenes in the bigger picture he's too much of a players man to do anything more than keep us ticking over. Not a bad thing but we/he have had a real chance to kick on this season and the form, signings and tactics don't reflect that quite enough for me. A few weeks ago it did but a few weeks before that we were going backwards, now we might have found middle ground which will probably be drawing every week like under Bowyer.
