Wonder if the club plant anyone in there......? -
Missing the point again we are on about having somebody like that in the squad for when we need to go direct.
-
Spot on he needs games in his position and if he's out wide move him centre later on in similar fashion. Thing is though he/we need crosses, good ones and lots of them. Even Rudy needs the ball constantly banging in there to make anything count. Someone like Gally might develop a 1 in 10 ratio which is probably about average but they need creating. A big lump would be handy though seeing as the policy at Ewood seems to be have a pool of forwards who are all a bit different rather than all round strikers.
-
Lets not compare budgets between us and Preston over the last 20 years though eh.
-
'So Jack we've consolidated last season and after investing 12 million of your hard earned i think we can finish a place or so above that this season. What do you think ?'
-
We've been crying out for a large target man / battering ram type since league 1, imo we'd have won that lge with one in the ranks. Then again it has to be something a bit better than Chris Brown but other clubs seem to dig them up.
-
You can carry people like Rudy in your squad with the parachute overspill. On a smaller income ou might be able to carry someone like that if you weren't so kind to your deadwood.
-
Mathematically of course and they should be aiming for it. Realistically no too many weak points and of course injuries and yet another wasted window. We can get 9th or 10th though which would be an improvement table wise if nothing else. Said a while back we might as well chalk this down to a transition season and try as many decent youngsters as possible.
-
Hard earned point it's always tough up there and two hardworking sides it was always going to be tight. When you can chuck someone like Gestede on for the last ten or so it shows what we are up against and what we lack in our squad. As mentioned we'd have lost that last season the resilience has improved quite a bit that's why i don't ever want Mulgrew back in unless desperate. Happy they kept the settled side again to help gel, unhappy with too much jerking around with formations in game again. Felt that hindered us yet again and could have proved costly, trying Bennett in every position just to have him on the pitch is tiresome now. Can't fault the lad himself though. Happy with the point.
-
It never really went away that's why i really fear at some point another set of big sales, on advice of course.
-
Really who was the least bit surprised at that mega blooper ? You'll get a couple of those type of thing from him every season and he'll cost points. He'll also almost single handedly earn as many if not more. That's what you get with these keepers so it's just hope theirs more worldies than basic howlers over a season and you end up in credit. Personally i'd always take solid over spectacular.

Get that shite off here.

Interesting debate as to who would have done what with each others squad. Would GB have done better than TM with this squad ? No i don't think so but would he have recruited a bit better ? Probably yes although he'd still have done as he was told if other 'outsiders' were bringing them in with blessing from his bosses. Something i suspect still goes on to a degree. Would TM have done a bit better with GBs squad of a 40 goal strike force ? Again i'm not so sure he would but would he have built on it better ? Unlikely but you never know. Both done good jobs in certain aspects but both big flaws in others although Bowyer never had the opportunities to kick it on that Mowbray has. Never over till the fat lady sings as they say.

Just how serious are they in moving these guys out though that's the thing. Just look at who and how many have been moved out in the past when we wanted rid, mostly under GB i think. If the manager of Chief Exec tells you to go or they'll foist you onto any club they can you go if you have interest. Here at Ewood these lot are sitting back cherry picking were they want to go safe in the knowledge they are still on a good screw here if not. Now hark back to the managers words in summer, not good enough not only is it holding us back in improving it's pushing us further towards FFP problems. Far too cosy casual and relaxed down there, no urgency for sod all this lot. NOT the way to kick on at all. -

The other day you were confidently spouting the club were totally relaxed about FFP ! Face it lad you spout straight off the top of your head like most of us on here then do some u turns not long after. You either get fed spin then have to backtrack or, like most us again it's just your own assumptions. -

It's only fair to balance this out by saying to a very large extent they are just funding their own losses So much of their 180 million to date has flown straight through the club without touching the sides. And it still does, nearly every club outside the Prem requires outside funding of some sort anyway. They've created their own money drain themselves. When with a bit more thought and care it could have been a nice hobby putting them in a good light and costing about half an n losses. Which surely could be written off like sponsorship and they could even have been actual benefactors ! Paying for their mistakes deserves some credit. Have the club and its fans just hung in the middle doesn't. -

One thing seems to have gone away and that's signing bodies for bodies sake. Finally dawned it's better filling some squad places with your own youth. Very disapointing again though that they never seem too bothered about trying to kick on. Biggest annoyance for me though so far is not moving out some of our biggest wage stealers. I said at the time it should've been done in summer. Now we've to carry a few till the end of June and I don't believe for one min that isn't a hindrance. -
Boro is always a tough place to go always has been. Anything you come away with will be hard earned.

Not that long ago a midfielder who runs towards the opposition box time and again would have been lauded. Pointing or no pointing. -

Andrews the jump was far too big at the time. He was signed because he was Inces mate but his style never fit what we had. Not the Prem either really. Handy squad man but was being paid 3 times above his bracket. No hate for him it was just one of those wrong player wrong club jobs. Did some decent graft for a few clubs after. Was better than Jason Lowe anyday of the week though that isn't the highest of praise. That hair though ! Very wrong. -

Surely he'd be an improvement on Gallagher or Bennett on the right ?
