  1. Oh the irony.... ? You're going to need your own chadometer by the time summer is out, it's only May ! Brexit has nothing on how this board will be in the next few months lol
  2. Either way the gist of it is his agent has got greedy because he knows there is long standing interest and he's on a free. Personally I also found it hard to believe he'd be daft enough to be asking those figures no one will pay that for him a good Championship wage for a player like that at a good club would be half that or less.
  3. Think you might want to search the fans forum minutes it's probably in there. Then you can take your liar liar crusade elsewhere.
  4. No he didn't say it personally in front of you so it didn't happen you mean.
  5. Go and find it yourself instead of always assuming people make stuff up. The guy said it, it's out there, go for it ?
  6. I thought the bold was you getting all passionate Philip ! Good post though and I have to agree on the parallel universe bit I've also posted in regards to what's on here without seeing the original content of TM interview or the LT stuff. Thing is though its got to be said this board is very good at seeing right through the bluster but maybe these interviews need pinning in full before they get dissected from second hand cherry picking ?
  7. Problem is most of our owner input still goes to under write losses racked up by them in previous seasons and of course guarantee the wages to enable us to pay beyond our income. The club then under FFP has to have a certain portion of its own income as well to avoid big borrowings and more debt so it's a bit of a minefield that only way around without getting really creative is sell a player now and again for good money. I suppose they thin the more turds they try and polish the more chance of creating a conveyor belt of selling for a few million regularly to under pin it and maybe being able to keep the better ones as long as possible, fair enough. I'm not comfortable with the hints of selling Dack and buying a load of cheapo gambles to fluff out the squad and hope one or two make the big money grade though that's just playing into the agents revolving door model yet again and it isn't building a promotion squad its treading water. When you sell quality for big money at least a portion of that should go straight into some more quality either ready made or real potential, even if it isn't in the same position as the departing player. By all means sell to survive if that's the case but don't dress it up as anything else that's telling lies again !
  8. Yet the other week you were telling us he'd be upgrading and signing ready made championship players whilst having a poke at some of us who were sceptical as usual .. ? You're right about the budget though he's not going to show his hand although he's said several times in the past there was money but he didn't spend it which won't go unnoticed to other clubs and agents when it's basically saying I have powder but am keeping it dry. What we have now is the usual gentle moving of the goal posts to something more resembling Rovers after all the bold words before ST went on sale. Tony has form for back tracking plenty times he just covers it well but it's all part and parcel of being a manager he won't be the only one.
  9. I get the impression he might be going there with words of Dacks agent(s) ringing in his ears worried their client might be priced out of a move in the not too distant future. He just getting it put out there that it might be a good idea to deal but he'll need the money to bulk out the squad and create more value. The words promotion or play offs won't come into it he's cleverly buying more time imo offering the 'increase book value' model so I think It would be down to them to say we want a real push and we'll back you.
  10. It won't do we've seen it umpteen times before and the only was you progress is invest a big lump of it in something else resembling quality, upgrade or stagnate then go backwards.
  11. There's a bit in a post above that will probably ensure you will be...... ?
  12. I think a Fielding signing would be a big pointer of the way things will pan out this summer, good back up but given the injury problems he carries he's unlikely to provide much direct competition to Raya. Also on that note would he be another who wouldn't get a much of a sniff of a deal anywhere else and someone feels sorry for him type signing.
  13. But any decent player coming on a free is going to want a good championship wage although the likes of Bauer can do one if he's after 40/50k pwk. Not sure I buy that though is his agent really so thick less than half that is the best he'll probably command.
  14. Dacks value maybe increased ten fold plus, - 750 ish then c 7.75 million is invested in in BB and AA last summer. The equity might well have been borrowed against already.
  15. Things have been a bit more sensible since that period so maybe some 'investors' or lenders before that period got it settled then there was a clean slate to go again on a more sustainable footing. All guesswork as usual but it does make a bit of sense hence why I really don't expect any spending spree this summer but maybe a short term wage bill increase on a few loans and frees which can be brought done again in a season or two and debts brought down again by a sale or three. Maybe a modest gamble similar to Lamberts mid season effort so it really does come down to astute recruitment, no room for wasters now.
  16. Still not totally beyond comprehension that Nyambe could be sold he's signed the new deal and if he has a bit of exposure in his National summer tournament there might be interest. Mowbray could see it as a way of raising a few quid and creating a space for one of his established favs at the same time. Whatever happens there was some odd goings on with him last season for no apparent reason.
  17. You've only got to cast the mind back to Coyles time and pre that to realise we were heading in Boltons direction it's amazing it's all forgotten about but it was happening. Taps almost turned off, players sold under managers nose, FFP sanctions and mid season emergency high interest funding being sought and used. It was a hairy time inside the club and a worrying one on the field that ultimately ended in relegation. A few things saving Rovers that Bolton weren't fortunate enough to have was a raft of players to sell for good money in a short space of time and get off the wage bill and the fact as far as we know it still owned all its fixed assets mortgage free. No idea what changed but something did, my guess would be new funding streams from somewhere in India after the previous ones were squared off with proceeds from the fire sale.
  18. Balaji in Switzerland giving green lights.......... ?
  19. I liked Curtis but that's what happens when you upgrade, no room for sentiment when you want to progress. I hope you're reading Messers Mowbray and Waggot
  20. I hope TM has learned Bennett is not a right back outside of emergency in fact I hope he's learned Bennett is the ultimate utility man...starting from the bench. Somehow i'm not so sure.
  21. Just found his feet then Souness dropped him and it went tits up from there, shame he was class. Come to think of it i'd have Hakan Unsall at left back now he didn't mess about he'd have suited the championship.
  22. Good call and at any other time under any other manager he'd have been firing us to safety or Europe.
  23. Not sure on that one as one of the reasons we struggled badly was Gennoe, Garner and Sellars spent a lot of time out injured. Graham and Dack would've been cracking replacements although I think i'd take Mark Grew over Raya. Also even Lenihen and Mulgrew would've been decent in place of Young Keith Hill and Bob Dewhurst, Evans for Shepstone as well. We really were down to the bare bones then with no academy graduates to call on.
  24. Half a season to two seasons.
