  1. The most worrying aspect of it is the players he brings don't fit this Head coaches style as the main thing he demands of his fwds is run around a lot, press, track, work hard. They either have different ideas or it's a bit of a box ticking job....... you want a good forward ? Well we can't afford one but here's two cheaper ones for you to make players out of.
  2. You can't have it both ways if you want the good ones under his name the others are to, similarly he is DoF and as you pointed out he is responsible for the whole football opp, so we can't cherry pick his remit. It's all on his watch so he needs to employ better scouts going off the evidence, it's his recruitment team. The main model here now is youth, freebies and cheap punts and the 3 mentioned are crap to put it mildly. Don't take my word for it look at the Head Coach and judge by his actions.
  3. We don't know about Szmods but allegedly wasn't a GB choice and the other two were lined up by Mowbrays gang before Greggy got here. Ennis, Leo and Tela are without much doubt and his resume though.
  4. Agree the lad needs to finish the season then have a full summer here ready to be really judged next season, i actually think he shows some decent touches and movement. Whether he'll ever get up to speed at this level though is another matter as he's about 24 now and he's a biggish lad but not right mobile. I'm getting Joe Nuttal vibes with this one and if the finances ease a bit i can see him being shunted out like Ennis probably will longer term. With him, Ennis and Leo that is a lot of questions that need answering with regards to this recruitment depts actual ability to find bargains who can contribute !
  5. I'm saying nothing major will happen there'll just poss be a low key loan or two out/in. The Rovers/Vs finance men will be desperate to flog Adam and Sam as late as possible for as much as possible so it can't be spent but all that will fall through until summer.
  6. Just tell Ipswich 2.5 million or do one then let his extra 12 month kick in.
  7. Modern keepers they all seem to do that these days.
  8. He still got down well to save it, come on after what we've seen this season from the pair of them that was Friedel !
  9. At least they got a rendition of 'Where were you when you were ####'
  10. Gally looked good tonight as an actual centre forward albeit against a league 2 defence. Special mention for Pears crucial superb double save it was the turning point and gave us the jolt we needed to kick on, he's a level above Leo at the min. Wrexham battled hard but didn't look anything other than an ordinary physical league 2 side i hope Mr Reynolds has deep pockets because they'll need it.
  11. Last time Ipswich were in the Prem i saw it mentioned on their forum that 25% of their ST's came from Colchester. When they were crap under McCarthy then dropped out the Championship i don't think they were getting 20k never mind 29.
  12. Well if he gets shunted out for a small fee and paid up the only people to benefit from this are him financially and whatever agents are involved. That stinks and opens up questions again.
  13. Always thought this ownership will end in admin one way or another and it seems we've been close a few times over the last 13 years. Actually selling the club would be preferable but can't see it and that would end up being a long painful process anyway knowing these lot. One thing about admin would be it gives the opportunity for someone to pick the club up and rebuild it but i'm not sure there'd be much left.
  14. There was Syad the conman plus the IPL cricket guy was interested but didn't have the funds and he may have been the one who asked Vs to buy in. Then they decided to buy it themselves, although i may be wrong on that one but i'm sure there was talk of that scenario.
  15. Yes that was the guy i was thinking of and he spent some time over in India allegedly checking out Venkys business etc. 'Everything they touch turns to gold' i seem to recall that quote by someone.
  16. There was a lot seemed to have a hand in it and don't forget they'd already let a conman in the door to look at the books before that. So the process wasn't exactly watertight i think desperation was taking over and clouding some judgement.
  17. He's on a 4 year contract so they'll probably have to pay it up if he's being shoved out that's why they'll want a fee. Awful signing.
  18. Anderson was already well in at Ewood for some reason and it was the other fella who went on the fact finding mission in India checking out the Vs. Can't remember his name but he was on the Trust board i think.
  19. They cashed in their inherited chips so that some of them could move to Monaco. The other sued the Trust for miss appropriation of funds. Sound familiar ?
  20. They wanted a young coach to develop players under the DoF model and he fit the bill. Whatever ambitions he had obviously aligned with what was said when he was offered or pitched himself for the job. 'I want to build a promotion challenging team using young players and your backing' ....'Yes yes we want that too, welcome aboard'. They have plenty previous of false promises, ask Paul Lambert.
  21. Because that isn't really an owners statement it's just a minion scribbling it down and getting the ok. They also confirm that future funding for the next 12 months is in place every time they sign off the annual accounts and that's a legal document. Empty words as usual it still leaves so many 'what if' issues like what happens if the date is pushed back again/they say no/the investigation carries on etc etc Load of old bollocks for the LT brigade to slaver over.
  22. I think it was in a club tweet the other day.
  23. Of course that is the reality of it there can't be any denying actual facts. However you have to consider those in the middle of the void who run the club for Vs and those (agents) advising them. They are were i think a lot of the problems lie as not only are they not fit for purpose but they are on a very cushy financial number and they know it. Their number one priority is don't bankrupt the club and they are managing to do that so in the owners eyes they'll be doing a good job. So beyond that they have nothing to gain whatsoever by making things more complicated for themselves they stay in good wages by hitting bare minimum aspirations and targets. And that is what they'll pitch to the ownership, a low grade model that's easier to finance -under normal circumstances- and easy for them to run and earn hundreds of thousands in wages. This is also the reality of our situation because if we are to be ambitious and aim to punch above our weight it needs to start with them. The one thing were your description of the situation falls down is there has never been any real ambition or attempt at promotion nor any real desire shown. Money albeit limited could have been spent to help TM or JDT when they had the club so close but it wasn't, then the budget is cut despite them knowing in advance of the pending issues and not sorting alternative arrangements for funding in advance. They just leave everything to chance, a lax attitude ALL the time never any proactive approach only reactive and often when it's too late. If you really want or need something -i.e promotion and the money - as desperate as this club needs it them you have to at least go after it and seek it it won't just come. Nothing here has ever suggested that the only intention is to as you say keep the lights on. So sorry i don't agree that promotion is ever really the aim over low budget water treading because it's the easiest option to them all.
