  1. Yes this is the transfer that should kick off the rebuilding of the squad with the aim of growing and trading into a promotion challenging team inside the next season or three. But... As usual here there is an excuse why this won't happen and the entire pot less wage and maybe 500k will be swallowed up in running costs. The 'real' plan here by the tinpot operators here is to throw in youth, freebies and regular 500k + add on kids and put championship mins into them quickly. Low wage earners can then be punted on after 2 or 3 seasons for a couple of million + add ons before they want a bigger wage and their is still value in their current 4 yr contract. Other championship clubs will buy them and pay them more if they aren't good enough for big Prem bids and all proceeds less the odd 500k will go towards running costs. Owners input gets smaller, running costs keep getting cut and those in the middle are well rewarded on their cushy number. That's the 'plan' in Waggot and Shadows office, forget Brentford, promotion, significant re-investment it isn't happening. The only thing that will happen is to try and keep the club at Championship level as that is vital for the plan. Low budget, low ambition, low buy/sell fees unless we strike it lucky with the odd biggie but Whartons like the Jones's etc only come along once every 15 yrs. If you don't invest in some quality along the way yourself it's a long empty road.
  2. Approves them is different to choosing them. I think we all know it's a case of look there's this lad or that lad or nothing, pick an option.
  3. 10% signing on fee of a million pound contract is nice obviously but doesn't cement the millionaire bracket. He's a kid whose spent his life at Blackburn Rovers and only into his first pro contract so there is no way he's a millionaire just yet off the back of that. He will be with the next one he signs though, wherever it is.
  4. Yeah he's a sensible lad and the money is there either way although basically doubling or trebling your current contract and cash at hand overnight will turn the most grounded of heads. Even as a football decision though the temptation will be huge because he'll get a chance straight away at Palace. Tough decision for him IF the clubs agree a deal.
  5. He's very clever as well he keeps himself unaccountable it very much sounds like there is an 'us and them' scenario down there unless he just plays it that way in public.
  6. Well it isn't in his bank yet and there'll be a whopping amount of deductions so i doubt he's comfortably a millionaire yet unless his family is of course. He's 19 and spent most of his time on apprentice wages but i think the point is if he signs for Palace he is very likely yo have a million quid from a signing on fee after tax dumped into his bank account !
  7. More like they were told to look at the other one then decided on Ennis because he was free and Waggots famous flex came into play. Neither Waggot or GB are fit for purpose if we are being honest.
  8. How is that framed as fact ? It's my thoughts, my opinion like most things on here. If you disagree say so but don't frame a comment as something it isn't you've no idea what's going on and neither have i.
  9. 10 million for Rothwell ? Someone is having a laugh but your point is correct.
  10. 'We are fully committed to building a sustainable Prem club, we will invest when we can and are working hard to do so, we love the rovers fans like family so get behind the lads FFS' In reality it'll just be coming directly from the shadowman and Waggot knowing the heat is finally about to come on top of their cushy little number.
  11. For all we know a Palace/Wharton deal could already be agreed but it won't become public until the final hours of deadline day so as not to.. A - Get fans demanding decent re-investment. B - Drive up the fee/loan fee/wages for any cheapos we are in for. C - Alert whoever we owe money to.
  12. That's what i thought and the gate take for this won't be very much, not sure how they divide up the tv money either. So i'm presuming it all goes in one pot and after everything is taken off Wrexham will end up with about a third.
  13. If he doesn't really want to go yet, which i suspect, but the club have little choice but to sell then that is is the reality of our mess not the reality of football. I'd wager if it goes through that is the more likely deciding factor.
  14. After expenses which probably reduces it to about a third of the overall take.
  15. Over a week to rest and prepare should help and a strong side and good performance in this could be just the tonic needed at the min. Even if it's a temporary respite from the league and financial issues i'm sure the need for a win and money spinner in the next round won't go unmentioned. Although to be fair even this one helps not many league 2 clubs are selling 7k and bringing their own local tv to live broadcast it. Pity we have to give them a third of the cash though !
  16. Well it's proven they were playing fast and loose with their company money via the club in the past but like playing with the club it was probably just spoilt rich kids arrogance. My interest would be what the hell was going on with some of the money they were pumping in whilst it was passing through the hands of assorted agents, managers, agencies and the like. Ain't no way in hell some of that lot weren't up to something and big Barry is the family link to them. Had some very slippery mates that lad.
  17. Whelan said it out loud more than once he knew his old mate would be spinning in his grave.
  18. And Ferguson and numerous others. I'll never forget the looks on the faces of the panel for that game at Spurs under Kean.
  19. Iv'e been saying for years on here, often to tinfoil accusations, that i firmly believe a bit of it goes elsewhere and that's why they are happy to plod on playing with the club. To Indian tax authorities looking from outside 200 million for seemingly zero return nor prospering or growing of the football club, large income from sponsorship, players sales often turned down. Players leaving for nothing after investing in them, etc. Well it could look like a form of money laundering couldn't it that's why it's not before time they should want to know where every penny has gone. Not that i think they are that stupid but i remain convinced there was always a bit more to it than we'll ever know.
  20. Have we not all learnt yet from the remarkable amounts of coincidental timing there has been in situations similar to this over the past 13 years ?
  21. Iv'e said before McGuire really isn't the gospel on these things he just rehashes stuff already out there without any meat on the bones. You genuinely learn more from a few on here and i assume that's a source for him as well.
