  1. Absolutely pitiful. Way worse than Preston imo. It's like he's deliberately trying to get sacked after the RB farce on Friday night and starting Bennett tonight then bringing Evans on when behind. Bit of straw clutching: 1) Could be a great night if this signals his departure 2) If anyone in India has seen these last 2 live Sky games surely even Swag would be hard pressed to bull up his mate's alleged qualities and keep him in a job? (Preferably both)
  2. Jurgen "So how's it going Harvey?" Harvey "Not too bad boss. Except that he now seems to think someone called Elliot Bennett is better than me."
  3. Three and a half minutes for Brereton. That'll do his confidence a world of good. Edit: What happened there? Our 2 CB's gone off early?
  4. Got skinned down our right side just before. Probably Nyambe's fault.
  5. Nice of Gallagher to clear the ball for Barnsley before with a nice cushioned header back to their keeper when he had a chance to score. As a side issue, how has Brereton gone from being one of the first names on the team sheet to being virtually unable to get a minute on the pitch? Has he bulked back down again whilst being injured?
  6. Have you actually got anything constructive to say about the shambles we witness out on the pitch week after week rather than just continually snipe at anyone who dares question Mowbray. Of course Mowbray is in pure self preservation mode. He isn't even being subtle about it now having the gall after 4 years here to suggest that we're only 28 games into a quest for promotion. And becoming increasingly arrogant and obnoxious during interview when being rightly questioned about things like sitting in the stand. It's hardly surprising. He knows he's bombproof with Waggott as CEO. Nor even Cole appointed his mate as his boss.
  7. Amen to that. Mowbray is an absolute disgrace. No doubt if by some complete and utter fluke we get a result tonight certain posters will be on here after the match saying what a masterstroke it was.
  8. Mowbray leaves at the end of 27/28 then?
  9. I'm indifferent to rather than depressed by the news that Buckley has landed a new long term deal but in devil's advocate mode you could certainly argue that this is symptomatic of the general malaise affecting the Club. If your face fits - fail to impress - and land a long term deal. None of them seem to be under any pressure to perform, particularly it seems the manager whose only focus seems to be keeping the cushy status quo intact.
  10. I wouldn't be completely averse to Holtby getting a relatively short term deal and even looking at Chapman again were we to change manager but other than that I couldn't agree more. We shouldn't even be entertaining the notion of any form of deals for Williams Evans, Downing, Bennett and Johnson. I'm sure TM will be desperate to keep them all together if he can though.
  11. On Mowbray I've been wondering recently if he would have been regarded as fondly by the owners and sections of the fan base if, instead of being relegated, he'd succeeded in his originally allotted task of keeping us up then followed that up with the same finishes of 15th, 10th and another likely mid table finish. To met I reckon that would actually have been slightly more of an achievement but I suspect it would have been generally regarded as bang average at best and pretty damp poor at worst. The heavily bankrolled promotion from League 1 seems to have given a distorted view of Mowbray's managerial capabilities. Whilst he deserved credit for it it would have been a colossal failure had we not been promoted on that budget.
  12. Disagree to the extent I don't think either have shown anything much at all but I think at least Buckley looks to have some innate natural ability. I really can't see what people rate in JRC, I can't see anything in him at all. Maybe like many others he'd be better in his natural position!
  13. Bit of inconsequential news being paraded as a major coup here as no doubt the players who really matter won't commit. I think Buckley has natural ability, far more so than say JRC, but thus far he has failed to impose himself when given the chance. And it isn't as though he is 17 or 18.
  14. Based on past results, unless we look to be in actual danger of going down, you'd have to say unlikely. The only straw I'm clutching desperately on to is that occasionally Venky's act out of the blue when you least expect it. In this instance I'm hoping it means Mowbray getting a long overdue bullet rather than him getting a new long term deal.
  15. I think he's been really poor for quite a while but this has been masked somewhat by the fact that in some games where he has otherwise contributed absolutely nothing, he has popped up out of nowhere with a clever assist. If this is adequate for you then fair enough. He's a player who clearly has a lot of natural talent and in years to come may turn out to be a very good player. However I think he's miles short of being the world beater he is constantly hailed as and given the same amount of game time I'm not sure Dolan would have contributes any less.
  16. Yet any request for extra funding, such as the loans for the latest 2 children or a £2m new pitch are met in the affirmative?
  17. I think it's nonsense to suggest that the pressure to play these kids would have come from India. Mowbray will have been so desperate that he would have had to make assurances to the PL Clubs that they would all get a certain amount of game time. If he didn't then the PL Clubs quite simply wouldn't send them here and would send them where they would play regularly even if it was further down the pyramid. Of course loaning in players from PL Clubs be they youngsters or otherwise, simply to limp in mid table every season runs directly contrary to the tosh we are constantly fed about slow builds, long term plans or being on a journey. Unless said players are good enough to help us achieve promotion then we're just throwing dead money away and are left back in square one every summer. The only way to progress in the long term is to develop our own players, not those of other Clubs. I'll bet Everton are delighted with the fact that Braithwaite appears to be a nailed on starter, but City might be questioning the wisdom of their lad being shoehorned into a struggling side out of position for a cameo appearance to make up his agreed minutes every week.
  18. Attempting to cover for both CB's who had gone missing.
  19. Top 6 has gone, it did a couple of months ago (this time round) that is pie in the sky talk. However, a change now would low a new man time to assess the squad and clear the decks in summer in preparation for the new season. That said, that should have happened in each of the last two seasons so we can only hope it happens now albeit two years too late.
  20. Exactly. If he hadn't been trying to cover no-one would have been there.
  21. He's been Mowbrayed. Who did look decent tonight? This manager could make Messi look average.
  22. Never seen anything like the Nyambe/Gallagher/Harwood Bellis farce in 50 years of watching football. Has to be a line in the sand moment. He has to go now. NO MORE!
