  1. Is Mowbray deliberately trying to get the sack? Brings off Nyambe who had absolutely no need to come off, replaces him with a centre forward Gallagher, then after humiliating him for 10 mins hauls him off as well and brings on the City lad. 2 substitutes completely wasted. Speechless, dumbfounded, flabbergasted you name it.
  2. Absolute garbage, don't know what to say any more, let's hope the Rao's are watching. Braithwaite is absolute rubbish. We'd be far better off developing our own youngsters than other Clubs' We'll have to see what the second half brings, hope we turn it round and win but if we're to lose anyway we might be better having another half like that and losing by 5 or 6. Then the powers that be might sit up and take notice.
  3. Another defeat for Lambert. What the Ipswich owner was thinking giving him a five year deal last season as Lambert was failing miserably God only knows.
  4. We have a 40% win record this time round which doesn't sound bad, but the problem is that up until yesterday we'd lost as many as we'd won hence the reason we're languishing some way outside the play offs.
  5. That's great news and tends to confirm the view of some that the owners always provide money when asked. There's only one missing ingredient!
  6. Not much in it, 40.2 to 41.8 and I would imagine that would be accounted for by TM's time at Celtic. I'd rather judge it on Warnock's eight career promotions to Tony's two really. I also saw a piece online from Mowbray in the Liverpool Echo in which he said Warnock was a wonderful individual away from the pitch but he's a very emotional manager and on reflection might think he shouldn't be fronting up to an 18 year old. About right and credit to Mowbray the best interview he's given in a very long time.
  7. Substitute Lambert's name for Mowbray and League 1 for the Championship and that more or less mirrors our situation here. Doubt we'll ever see a similarly ballsy piece in the LT though. As for Lambert, he doesnt seem to have changed much since he was here, says all the right things but the performances and results under his watch don't match the spin. At least he didnt insert a get out clause at Ipswich then walk out when things didn't go to plan. Probably realises his stock is going lower and lower with every job he takes.
  8. We're fine thanks Gav. I saw Tris in Blues just before Christmas 2019 and he imparted some news I wasn't aware of at that point so hope all is OK at your end.
  9. Very strange. Not going to do his development any good whatsoever.
  10. Serious question re: the Greek lad as I've heard nothing whatsoever about him since the initial euphoria about it supposedly being a massive feather in the cap of the European Scouting System when he signed. Is he playing at all and if so at what level?
  11. Yep, that's it in a nutshell.
  12. Hi Tony. Actions speak louder than words and I've formed my opinion over a period of time based on Mowbray's tenure here. You obviously have a different view and that's fine. I doubt you know Warnock any better than I know Mowbray but even if we were to accept your character assessment of them both, Warnock's managerial CV eclipses that of our manager and I want a manager who'll get us success not one I can invite round for tea.
  13. What makes you think it will be any different than Mowbray's previous 132 games in the Championship with us?
  14. The parachute payments skewer the equation slightly as regards automatic promotion but we're not even at the races in regards to challenging for the top 6. We're also only three points ahead of teams who were struggling desperately against relegation last year like Huddersfield, Barnsley and Luton so we're not exactly performing well are we? Edit: two, three and five but the point stands.
  15. Yep, it's a really weak and lazy argument to say that you can't compete with a team with a bigger budget. Some teams will always have bigger budgets than others no matter what League you're talking about. If you take that viewpoint there's no point going out in the first place, just allocate finishing positions in accordance with turn over.
  16. We can but hope. If true you can't really blame Venky's for being annoyed when TM over-ruled the recommendations in favour of Kipre who we then failed to land and Ayala who to date looks like an overpriced crock on a long term deal. How much must be wasting on him and Mulgrew not to play. £2m p.a.?
  17. Yes, why wouldn't you be? Appalling level of performance. Being in and around the play offs should be the absolute minimum level of expectation. Really the target should be top 2 with the play offs as a fall back option. And it's only six because we sneaked a win yesterday. Would you be posting the same if we'd lost and the gap was 9?
  18. Agree entirely. I wasn't a fan until he was out of work for a while and had an extended spell as Co presenter on the Talk Sport Breakfast show with Alan Brazil. To my surprise I found him a really engaging character who wears his heart on his sleeve and says exactly what he thinks unlike most managers who lapse into ridiculous manager speak to cover their backsides. The only criticism you can lay at his door imo is that he gets carried away in the heat of the moment either during the match or immediately post match and says the sort of things a fan would say. Again I find that rather refreshing. Meanwhile you've got a manager into his seventies bouncing with enthusiasm and passion busting a gut trying to add yet another promotion to his already impressive CV. Whereas we have Mowbray going through the motions counting down the days until retirement pulling the wool over our owners eyes by waffling on vaguely about journeys and challenging for the top 6 sometime never.
  19. Doesn't say much for us then as I still think we'll finish well behind them.
  20. That's not the law as it stands. Can't remember the Evans incident but Raya got accidentally injured diving in at someone's feet. There's a massive difference between that and what happened yesterday, you've a right not to be kicked in the face six feet in the air hence the current regulations requiring you to take care for another player's safety and not requiring deliberate intent.
  21. We have to be alert to the possibility. When's Ayala due back? He really has been a poor signing thus far and we've got another two years of this to come.
  22. Fair enough, but in Killer's day you could get away with a lot. These days you can't (usually) so if he carries on in that sort of vein he'll spend most of his loan spell here suspended and be neither use nor ornament.
