Fuck sake the one player who I wouldn't offer a contract gets a contract offer.
As has been noted already - Hyam played all league games last season. You'd be happy for him to go, leaving Carter and Wharton as our only senior CBs? I'd rather keep Hyam and get a transfer fee at some point.Β

12-14k
I'd be surprised if Cantwell is on 'only' 14k. One of the ladies team mentioned, when discussing the budget and pay the girls were getting, that a men's team player was supposedly on 20k a week

Sell all three if they donβt sign contracts.
We lost three players on a free before and Iβd rather get some money than lose them on a free- especially Brittain- everything that is wrong with modern football in a nutshell.
I'm theory yes, but we've quickly learnt transfer income isn't reinvested so we'll be up the creek

So far from being a back-up, it seems Alebiosu is the new starter. They must have known Brittain wanted to leave because they didn't offer his a fair contract.Β
I bet we lose Trav and Tron too now, replace them with more cheap relegated European players. We're a basket case of a club.
Fair contract is all context. He might be on 8k, we might have offered 12k - it's been rumoured Cantwell is on 20k. He might want that but we can't afford it - not with trying to get down the income to wages ratio. And even if they could match at 20k - Boro might be offering 25k.Β
Essentially once other established Championship teams become interested, we cannot compete financially.Β

We actively wanted to sell Szmodics. We were just trying to get the fee to what we thought was acceptable, but the player and the club knew that ultimately he would be leaving.
Difference with Brittain is we are told we are actively trying to keep him.
Not sure that's the case, he confirmed we offered a new contract to try and convince him to stayΒ

Salgado was a huge worry for his first couple of months. Thankfully he and the team adapted and he didn't put a blotch on his career.Β

Absolutely people have the right to make judgement on signings. Similarly, people would do well to remember some signings have completely flipped the initial judgement, or even judgement after 1 season. Szmods, Brittain, Bezza....far from great first seasons.Β

Obligatory YouTube highlights with the caveat of being a few years old. Looks to have good pace and able to get his head up to pick out crosses.Β

you have to ask yourself
was the failure or unwillingness to extend key players contracts a reason eustace walked away
why wer`nt the deals for travis, tronstadt and brittain extended last season
why has dolan been in negotiations for the last 18 months

For this alone, I'm thankful of what Broughton did. Yes there were some almighty fuck ups under his watch, but I doubt directly by him, but for that tenure we actually saw some future stability through long term planning.Β

That's just a Plymouth shirt. If there's a link to the town, I fail to see it. 2 down, no purchases for me yet...
It literally tells you it's based on the coat of arms for the town

venkys will sell anyone for a quick rupee
Unless they've changed approach, history shows this isn't true - not unless their valuation is reached. There's countless posts about players who left for free under their tenure when offers were widely reported to have been received.Β

there was a story in the telewag that players who hadn't signed new contracts weren't expected to return to training on Monday. That would include Trav, Dolan etc wouldn't it. We shall see - I wonder if the club marketing department will release a video of the boys getting back in harness??
Matters not. All that matters is that we are on the approach to another campaign, and yet again the omens are less than favourable. Getting a bit sick of starting every season with low expectations. Whatever happened to giving it a right good go? BASTARDS!
PASHA THE STOOGE OUT!
VENKYS OUT!
No it meant those out of contract on the 30th - Dolan, batth, weimann - not those with a year to go.Β

Yet we'll still have fans blaming the exits on greedy players and their agents!
It'd be nice to find a squad full of Santi Carola's - playing for minimum contract at his first club, just got them promoted back to La Liga.Β

Couldn't help but notice that Pears is conspicuously missing from all the new GK kit marketing. Their latest X post even features one of the younger goalies (Michalski I think) alongside Toth.
Couple that with Toth being touted as next season's #1... pretty much confirms that Pears will be sold this window!
Should be a cool little Β£1m-2m in the
transfer kittyVenky's pockets.By the same logic, Travis and Brittain won't be sold in this window as they're in the marketing. Yet most would not be surprised if at least one of them is gone by September.Β

Ugh...if it's going to be boring, it needs to be without a sponsor. Disappointing.

Until it suits their narrative. And this isn't me saying he is or isn't reliable or that I do or do not support the regime, just very much agreeing with your point that people slate new sources until the article aligns to their view.Β

Possibly, like the old McEwan or more recent crown/probiz(!!!) ones. Generally I don't like the panel as to me it unbalances the half shirt, but the contrast on that image works wellΒ

Unless the solicitors have agreed to a very small logo and it will be an asymmetric design, don't think it will be - you wouldnt see half of their name.Β

Agents will always make enquiries, ultimately their job is to get the best deal for their client, which in most cases means the highest salary. Once they found out Team X and Y would offer Β£20k or whatever, we'll have not been in the running if we weren't able to get anywhere near the same figure.Β
