Why did Eustace get a massive round of applause after getting sent off after being involved in something he didnt need to meaning that he forfeited being on the touchline as manager for the 1 and a half games that will determine our survival?

I always find it strange when players get a round of applause too when sent off leaving us in the lurch.

I wouldn't have applauded him but Eustace's red card was a) harsh and b) (and perhaps of more relevance in this instance) due to genuinely trying to help the team.

When someone is sent off for something stupid (Brittain second yellow at Saints springs to mind, Duffy/Bothroyd) I'd be surprised if anyone applauded. But a player who has genuinely tried for the team and is sent off in the act of trying to do something for the team? I can see why they still get applause. Lee Williamson wasn't at fault for being left one v one, wasn't over the top in his actions and saved a near certain goal with a particular rugby tackle.

Reading the lad's comment who is working 2 jobs. He struggles to get to games which have been moved for tv, because of shift work.

Don't know if it's been suggested, it should be easy to introduce a flexi half season ticket. Maybe a  12 game ticket which can be used for any 12 games,so a half season ticket which can be spread over the full season.

The problem with this is cannibalising your full season ticket sales. Make it too attractive a prospect and people who would have bought a ST buy this instead, and you could actually end up with less income. I accept it isn't just about how much the club brings in but it also can't be ignored. It's a fine balancing act.

Players aside! A top priority this summer should be finding and bringing 2 good new Goalkeeping coaches (one for first team and  one for the youngsters) because or current gk coaching dept is clearly very dire to say the least.

A lot of the mistakes you see our keepers make are from poor decision making and poor positioning, the 2 things a good gk coach should help improve

Playing devil's advocate, is that to improve on the GK coach who worked with Spain international David Raya and Belgium international Thomas Kaminski, both of whom are also established in the premier league?

I've said numerous times I've no idea why he gets so much hate, other than his age and lack of playing experience. Those things don't necessarily make you a bad coach and sometimes it is the player who can be the limiting factor, not the coaching.

The squad needs that much investment it's nuts. We're weak in every position.  I can't see Venkys spending a penny in the summer. Rhodes, Best, Breo, Gally, Dack, Szmodic, Hyam, Brittain, Wahlsted are the only significant cash buys I can think of since they've been here...  How many years is that across?

They need to get out of the club.

Rochina, Formica, josh king, Ben Marshall, Duffy, Armstrong...depends how you define significant. Pickering? Kaminski?

Also worth remembering some of those early frees will have been on high wages and probably high(ISH) agent fees - Etuhu, Murphy, Nuno Gomes

He'll keep us up by virtue of other teams being rubbish and think he's great, but in fact he is the luckiest Rovers manager I know to have such a low bar for "success"

Didn't Kean get a bonus for us being relegated?

Back to Eustace. Up until last night, we've looked tighter at the back, but we also didnt look like winning many games. I don't find him particularly endearing - his talk of focusing on the pitch is understandable to a degree but disregards fans who care for the overall state of the club. It'd have been a token gesture but I didn't hear any apology for last night's display, particularly to those who attended - I thought that would be almost standard when you've been absolutely smashed and the team showed no fight or threat to goal. Even if we stay up he's got a long way to go to win me and I suspect others over.

Van Hecke. Think i've raised it before -the issue of the quality of loans which has declined.

Never liked Mowbray as a manager but he did seem to get some good loans. Tosin, Elliot etc

    Is that:

    down to cash

down to Mowbray's network -agents/personal contacts being better than present incumbents

the dysfuntion at Rovers is so well known that we are a last resort

Don't disagree he got some good loans but also some absolute duds or players who were quite poor for us:

Zeefuik, Giles, Poveda, Clarkson, Douglas, Branthwaite (though started off ok), Palmer, Harper

The fact that shadow man gets to walk from the Blackburn End car park to the Jack Walker every week unmolested shows what an easy ride these people get.

I hope your choice of word was simply ill-thought as opposed to what you do to someone you don't like. Are you implying the person should at the least be harassed by fans and as such, border assault? Assault not requiring contact to be made but the fear of unlawful contact?

  8. Don't think he's put a foot wrong since returning form injury. It might be argued the form of Leo means we appreciate what Pears does that bit more. Pears' speed off the line has been needed in recent games and he's not been rash in his judgement. Carry on like this for the remainder of the season and I don't think a new first choice keeper is on the list for summer recruitment.

Don't know where to start really!

Ok firstly, thanks @glen9mullan for sharing the info that you have.

We fucked up so embarassingly last year, that this is unforgiveable & all, & I mean ALL (apart from the poor admin girl, for the purposes of dramatisation we'll call her Amy) have to go now - go on! Off u fuck!!

Last year it was a meal in Manchester,  this year a curry, what next year? Domino's? A kebab? Tesco meal deal?!

Sorry, but I'm not buying it. Everyone who has any 'info' on the inside is complicit & being bought!

After last year's debacle, even a simple conversation would've done, unfortunately it probably went like this:

Amy: ok, what u having Steve?

SW Chicken Korma (u know I'm right!!)

    Amy: Mike?

    MC - Lamb bhuna please

    Amy- Gregg?

GB- Just one sec, Ian? U get confirmation back on the McGuire deal?

    IS - Chicken Jalfrezi please

    GB- Ian?! The McGuire deal?

IS - Erm, keema rice & a plain naan

GB- Ian!? The McGui...., Fuck it, special mixed bhiriani please Amy, but can I get that with a madras sauce instead of the veg curry..

SW- Ooh  Greggy, madras! Not messing with u eh bad boy, eh eh?

GB- Fuck off Steve! Soft cunt with your coconut casserole! Oh, Amy, a peshwari naan & well please love.

SW - Amy? That over £40 yet? Not paying for delivery & we get free samosas if it is.

IS - we do get poppadoms & chutney with that don't we?

All - YES IAN! (Group laughter)

    2 hrs later....

SW - well that was bloody lovely! A great job, well done all!

Amy - Ian, there's a message flashing up on your PC - do you want to save changes?

ALL - MCGUIRE!!!! (No fucking laughter)

    You have been watching........

    Amy for CEO

I don't know whether he pushed to leave or not, did he tell you this? He was under contract to us and it wasn't in our interests to let him go. As became obvious very early indeed.

I'm pretty sure GB said he wanted to go once Luton made a bid.

It wasn't in our interest to let Wharton, Armstrong, Raya, Duff, Dunn, Shearer, Sutton, Roque etc go. But we're Blackburn, not Real Madrid or Man City. if you're not a destination club, and we are far far far from that, your players are pretty much all available if what the club deems is an acceptable offer is made.

Actually he nearly said as much himself

If Kaminski had been between the posts all season I'm guessing our position in the league would be rather higher.

He was left with Pears and Wahlstedt and then immediately lost Pears. much of the defence's problems are down to that.

We sacrificed safety in the League for £2M. Venkys again.

He pushed to leave, as would most players at this level when a top tier team comes in. He's 31, chances of playing in an elite league wouldn't come around many more times.
