This England team could well lose the first home Ashes series in more than 20 years
Far from being "the best English (sic) test side ever" (silly), it could be one of the worst
Rightly or wrongly all England and Australian players and sides are pretty much judged by the ashes. If don’t get back on and get a win, I agree this side will forever be remembered for the first England team to lose a home ashes for 22 years. Despite the run rates.

As playing Cumbria the only fixture Lancs should be playing up in historic Yorkshire modern Cumbria.
Krikken led us last year and got us to the final when chapple took over and inevitably lost the final. Things are not right at Lancs so can’t see them doing anything.
Unfortunately playing there again Tuesday. So a bit of time for a nice swimming pool to appear in the bit in front of the pavilion.

England defo won one series in the dark at karachi. Must have been one of the early sky take over games remember watching it on tv. We ended some sort of long Pakistan run if memory serves.

At what point can I start to panic that they might just chase 384

Having proved fairly conclusively that the fans groups can put on a better event than the club have ever managed to do. Is there any plans in the pipeline to do it again?
Perhaps one day do all games. Then who knows one day take care of contracts, transfers, etc. Remove the club officials from all decisions surely the long term goal 😂

Crawford looked a class above in a fight they claimed was a genuine 50:50 where both fighters were undefeated and could claim to be best pound for pound in the world. Crawford put him down 3 times before finishing it in the 9th. Now the first boxer to become undisputed in two weight divisions.

He’ll go straight to the sky comms box. No bowlers. Did some punditry while England were in Pakistan and was better than some of them.

It still boggles my mind that somebody can devote their life to playing football and not think to develop their weaker foot.
No one playing for rovers or any professional side should have a weak foot worse than my strong foot but there’s a couple of them using their other foot for balance.

The club has been on life support for over a decade - the Academy is the only reason it's still breathing.
It truly is uncle jacks last gift to us. To think swag wants houses.

Of all the days for the clubs hierarchy to remind us how fucking useless they all are. Couldn’t write it.
I bet the organisers are thinking you set of bastards today of all days to further reveal your utter incompetence.
I’m sure it’ll be a decent afternoon and won’t detract from the great efforts put in by the fans planning it. Hopefully waggott will be out and about for a meet and greet with random fans he wants to open links after all. I’d like that.

In light of JDT shining a light on the ever present incompetence of the rovers hierarchy it will be interesting to see how the trust/we are rovers play this. I listened on bbc radio Lancashire to the chairman John Murray saying “the relationship has never been better and they’re signing a memorandum of understanding which gives the trust a strategic input to the club.” Cynically was/is this just the clubs way of paying lip service to a fans group to get them on side before their normal incompetence resumes.
The Trust is at a crossroads it probably didn’t want to find itself in, least of all today with the fans in control vs girona stuff. From a lot of the bumf I’ve read/heard it’s all about how we’re all friends these days (can’t say I’ve ever felt that way) and one of the themes today. Mr Murray might have to show some metal if wants to keep fans on side rather than be seen as another wing of the clubs propaganda machine in light of developments.

Smith was out. The umpires got it wrong according to the Sky commentary team after a 50 minute group analysis.
Pointing said he'll check tomorrows papers.
I’ve just seen a replay of the smith run out that wasn’t. What the fuck was the 3rd umpire watching. Even forgetting that dope bairstow had glanced the stumps before receiving the ball my 15 second analysis is the entire stump subsequently went backwards before smith was in.

Another bore draw at Old Trafford vs a team who can’t bat.
This is effectively a day 8 pitch and it’s as boring and flat as when the Australians put on 300 last Wednesday. The pitch is that flat it nullifies our seam bowlers, who are good but don’t have real pace. So much so Bailey even tried spin. Our spinners are not up to county level and on a pitch that isn’t really spinning still bowled 70 overs. I’d maybe try and sign that young spinner from Kent.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the messageboard for my stupid comments and jinxing proceedings thereafter.
Its not the first time this has happened, but I can assure you all, it will be the last.
Apologies 😤
I did the same on Tuesday at OT vs Northants. As Luke procter and Emilio gay were in I said we’ll make short work of these 2 Clowns. 200+ partnership later watching them both for most of the day.

Stokes looks a total div in that bucket hat. He must have lost a bet to wear it as often as he does.

Swag is about as transparent as it gets, to most. He’ll be slightly worried a fan driven game will be better received than any of the shite ideas he and his cronies have tried. So in that event it’ll be it’s “us” not the guys actually doing it.
-
What I like is this presumably is being organised by people giving up their time all will have their normal jobs. Already sounds better than anything people at the club have done and they get paid for it.

With the fan involvement in proceedings I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a preseason game to be a success. Hopefully commercially but even in terms of positive feedback.
I’ve said for years it’s embarrassing that the rovers look on at how they do things at Stanley with envy and even bloody Clitheroe more effort than rovers. If I was in control would put decent beer on, transport, fuck off that Sodexo, programmes, give a load of free tickets to those less fortunate for a very easy PR win. That’s before doing stuff like a bit of live music beforehand/after.
Unfortunately I think I know the clubs/swags game. For the fa cups don’t get 5 figure crowds so when 2-3k rock up for a friendly vs a team no sod has ever heard of they’ll use it as a stick to say well the fans thought they could do better (which I’m sure 100% will do) but no sod came so back to normal. I wouldn’t be surprised if swag can somehow guarantee it’s hooning it down.

There’s barely enough toilets without the scaffolding stand, ridiculous when it’s up. About 10 extra portable loos with 15 minute queues even during the sessions. Dread to think at the intervals.
It’s embarrassing. Same every time there’s a crowd. They can’t handle it. It’s scandalous there isn’t an ashes in the north next time round but frankly ot doesn’t deserve one.
I was talking to an Australian during a 45 minute long queue at tea and he said 90,000 at the mcg and he can’t recall ever having to queue.
There’s so many better systems such as troughs like get a festivals and Hyde park concerts. Nope we’ll get about 20 port a loos for an extra 8,000 fans. Truthfully the club doesn’t give a shit about match day experience. Unless on the point balcony of course.

I suppose being entertained is subjective. For those who like t20 and what the boring traditionalists would could reckless cricket it might be.
I was fortunate enough to be at the mcg then the SCG in 2010/11 where won in their back yard 3-1. Only once did we go over at 4 an over in Adelaide. Grinding out a draw in 2nd innings at the gabba, scoring over 500 at 3 an over at the mcg after skittling them for less than 100, 644 going at 3 (high test score down under) at the scg where cook got nearly 200 at a strike rate of about 50. Exceptional sensible batting, bowling and fielding for me that was the most entertaining England have and probably will ever be.
