  1. Really pleased to see Graham sign a new deal. Never expected anything else amidst the rumoured multi year deals apparently on offer elsewhere. Only speculation, probably agents promoting their players or whatever, but not sure thats what we need. Hector is an ok Championship defender but cant see him dislodging Mulgrew or Lenihan, nor being happy as a back up. Not seen Chalobah but surely it would make sense to loan an attacking player, maybe Hudson-Odoi, who can give us something a bit different? The gift that keeps on giving. Was the other club Blackburn Rovers? Agreed. If we do sign a loan or 2 it should be someone who can make a difference, no Harpers ie signed for the sake of it. Armstrong, Payne, Chapman, Conway and Payne have all left and id only probably want Armstrong back, but theres a lot of attacking players that need replacing one way or another. Sub centre backs should be well down the priority list.
  2. If you look at the seasons theyve both had, in terms of actual output, comparing 2 incredibly promising talents, youve got 1 who is delivering regularly and one who for whatever reason has yet to fully show his raw talent into consistent goals and assists.
  3. Even though you said the other day that youd pick Dier over Henderson?
  4. I dont think you can fit all 4 of them in the same team. Its Sterling or Rashford and for me, Sterling is a more complete player off the back of a superb season.
  5. To discard the prospect of any signings just because they are 29 would be an incredibly narrow minded transfer strategy, and one im sure Mowbray is clever enough not to adopt. He might be in the main aiming for younger players but you cant just totally ignore players for that reason. Would have Brownhill, Adelakun and maybe Harris, the rest less so. Doesnt prove anything chaddy. Nixon doesnt know what hes talking about, and what he says on this occasion regarding the option in his contract is contrary to what Rich Sharpe is saying about the clause in his contract now being redundant. So one of them is talking shite. The only thing I do know is that it will be a huge blow. Graham was a big player for us last season, if he went to Bolton, who we know are penniless and desperate hence their signing of Jason Lowe, then it would be bad news and potentially indicative of us maybe not having much to spend. That said, all this about Bolton wanting him, 1 and 2 year deals, wage offers, its all rumour and speculation and we wont know until the club officially announces it. Lets hope its us saying hes renewed.
  6. Whether you believe it or not, up to you, but it is still rumour. No one knows. If I took every rumour as fact wed have a bloody big squad. 6 goals in 33 suggests not.
  7. Henderson for Dier, otherwise id pick the same team. Better on the ball, more progressive in his passing, better positionally, more of a leader, had a far better season individually.
  8. Its all gossip and rumour chaddy. The wages hes on, the wages he wants, the length of deal he wants, the offers he has elsewhere. Not one to pay too much information to any rumours. All I know is I want to see one of our best players, Danny Graham, at the club next season and will be dissapointed if hes not. The reasons why are total guesswork.
  9. Agreed. Rashford brimming with confidence, still behind Sterling but a great option, Delph is technically very good too, for me he should play alongside Henderson in the tougher games, and the wing backs have been fine. Henderson has been excellent too, some of his crisp passes forward have been key and his positional sense and leadership make him so much better than Eric Dier. Loftus Cheek has not done anything, not convinced by his presence in the squad, hes too lethargic, and Vardy has not been involved and missed his chance.
  10. I dont understand why we didnt just activate his year extension as mentioned above. Id be incredibly frustrated if our summer business started off with Graham leaving and Conway staying, that is for sure.
  11. Why would Chelsea loan him out to be back up?
  12. I think that passage is referring to Gladwin, rather than Smallwood. Still the same message though haha, you can offer criticisms of a potential signing. Youve proved based on my Whittingham analysis that I dont know what im talking about... Thanks for the apology but no need.
  13. You said I wrongly "wrote Smallwood off" (I dont think I ever wrote him off, maybe youve got me mixed up?) implying that me stating my valid doubts about Rothwell was me writing off him too, rather than judging him if he came to us. Id like to see us sign a higher calibre than an Oxford player who has struggled to maintain a place there for whatever reason. If he came Id obviously wait to judge him.
  14. I dont think I did write off Smallwood, no. Im making a comment about whether I would want a player to be signed, I can do that without getting all the "judge him in a Rovers shirt" rubbish, Im not saying I wouldnt but not every signing has to be one that people fully agree with. If we signed a 40 year old from non league, would you still make these comments?
  15. Dack was their star player, had won player of the year, been linked with Prem and Championship clubs and the fans seemed unanimous on him being an excellent player. I'm not dismissing him because of his team, ive even suggested players at smaller clubs (Adelakun and Maddison for example), im dismissing him because the fans seem split on him, hes not a regular and he has injuries.
  16. Taylor, the same player who has at times struggled with injuries, and even when not, hes failed to dislodge an out of position and at one point unwanted Alan Hutton? Lansbury, who is again nowhere near the first team? Kodija whose spent most of the season injured? Hogan, who has badly struggled for goals and as a result, starts? Form an orderly queue.
  17. Not sure players in and out of the Oxford team are what we need to improve.
  18. Risk hasnt paid off and they are left with a massive wage bill, ageing squad which Bruce has helped to build and you mention how much they need to raise, whose sellable bar Grealish? Regardless, the size of the club means they can do a lot better than McDonald. Could be a good job for Big Sam.
  19. Apologies if already said but may I ask what has brought you to this Rovers messageboard @Dryhorse ? Are you a Rovers fan? Or have a liking for Rovers? Not having a go by the way, genuinely dont know.
  20. Dont get the need to state every top player left at home shows how weak England are. You look at the quality of our attack, Kane, Sterling, Lingard, Alli, all key players for top 4 clubs, Vardy scoring 20 goals as a sub, thats not the issue or the reason we may come unstuck, plus ive got no idea how Sane isnt in the Germany squad anyway, for the same reasons as @benhben has said.
