  1. Have to shift the likes of Bennett and Bell and not be weak and let them stick around as neither are good enough to play any part.
  2. People wont be just travelling from Lancashire though. No chance that the rest of the season will be accesible for fans.
  3. The situation is very much day by day and ultimately no one knows for sure the best way to prepare for such a situation. It goes without saying that large gatherings with people in close proximity is a massive risk with an infectious disease spreading like wildfire. I suspect the crowd will be considerably down on Saturday and you have to say that those chosing to stay away are making a very understandable choice.
  4. Very surprised to see the game go ahead, potentially a very risky decision. Will against my better judgement most likely attend but expect a crowd that is halved in size and expect this to be maybe the last game we can attend this season.
  5. Why would you choose to put Sam Gallagher on the wing? I dont get after seeing him there on numerous occasions and be totally ineffective every time without fail how youd come to that conclusion?
  6. And could probably offer more goal threat!
  7. Im guessing the absence of hot water isnt just in the Blackburn End either?
  8. It does seem more and more inevitable that the season will not finish with fans being allowed into the ground. I have tickets for Barnsley and am half expecting the game to be behind closed doors.
  9. He may well impress with the kids which is not a barometer really of readiness for the first team but I was just commenting on 2 performances as I saw them really. You do find that people are unwilling to accept any scepticism towards the performance of younger players (not aimed at you) even if they dont do anything or even do something bad (ie Buckleys stupid red card) but I thought he was totally ineffective in both of his starts and theres nothing wrong with saying that provided that its not accompanied with over the top conclusions. Undoubtedly, the fact that he is a wide man means that he should be right in the thinking for a start simply because you wont get anyone more dismissive than me of playing Gallagher, Brereton or Samuel as an inside forward and options are very very scarce in that position.
  10. Just because hes a young lad doesnt mean that it wasnt totally unnecessary and wreckless. Ive hardly said he should never play for the first team again and have agreed with the paralells drawn to Travis' red card at Portsmouth which was equally irresponsible.
  11. Work ethic is not an attribute to be fawned over for a side chasing the top 6.
  12. Was unimpressed by Rankin Costello in his 2 starts, didnt really show anything to get me excited at all. Not particularly fast, didnt take anyone on, no sign of much technical ability or flair. Slim pickings out wide and no doubt the managers favourite donkey Gallagher will be shoved there.
  13. Because he was that bad against Derby and I realised that I was wrong to be encouraged by his ability to merely win a couple of fouls. I dont see any other right wingers.
  14. Very much a must win. Lose and its curtains. Dress it up as you wish but we have a 9 game sequence in which we have to pick more points than any of the 4 teams ahead of us, factoring in a small deficit, plus more than the teams right over our shoulder, so its a long shot. We need to get out of the habit and mindset of plodding along, needs to be something special now. Brereton and Gallagher need dropping, as obviously does Bennett and Rothwell. Think I would go: Walton Nyambe Lenihan Adarabioyo Bell Chapman Travis Johnson Downing Samuel Armstrong Subs: Hilton, Williams, Rankin Costello, Graham, Gallagher, Davenport, Rothwell
  15. The Travis example is a good comparison, another sign of wrecklessness and irresponsibility at a young age. He learnt his lesson and has shown maturity that Buckley can learn from.
  16. What he did was wreckless, unnecessary and irresponsible. His foul wasnt for the team.
  17. The elephant in the room will always be a transfer record "boasting" 2 waste of spaces for 12 million and more misses than hits. We are definitely in a better position than this time last year or this time when he joined but the next step is the biggest and his transfer record especially creates huge doubts as to whether he can achieve that or whether the rate of growth justifies the net spend in that time. Equally removing him could be seen as very harsh. I cant ever remember being so unsure about a managers future, usually I feel very much one or the other. He talks a lot of shite but so do most managers so not too bothered about that.
  18. Very young is a bit of a stretch and I also thought Johnson was going to be a really good signing which he hasnt been at all.
  19. Maybe he would be a good signing, but a player who will be 33 soon after the season starts with such an underwhelming CV is hardly cause for much optimism. Based on the source, its very unlikely anyway.
  20. To be fair we can surely aspire to more than to simply exist.
  21. Lets hope he is typically wrong if that is the standard of goalkeeper we want to push us into the Premier League!
  22. Last season he had a hot streak for a month within an otherwise poor season. This season his hot streak was longer and as a result his overall numbers are better but before that and even these last 3 games he has been his usual languid and ineffective self and I suspect that people got a little carrying away suggesting that we could struggle to hold on to him and that he can sufficiently cover the absence of Dack. Dack scores goals consistently, I think his biggest dry spell is 6 games.
  23. He cannot play effectively in any position though at this level.
  24. A showing of petulance and needless aggression does not come under "showing committment" and "showing he cares" in my book.
