I think Alebiosu is nudging ahead of the lad who went to 'Boro.

A hard working performance with two well-taken goals. A good effort from meagre ingredients, which is why it will be toad-in-the hole tonight,

They should of course be toasting us, but we look like we might score, which must be putting them under pressure. Can't see us keeping the lead though.

Well done big-G. He's playing well and was in the right place.....

It seems like a lifetime ago that I walked away from Ewood with that feeling you only get from winning. But in all honesty I just couldn't see a win coming after we went behind albeit I thought we were unfortunate to go in one down at half time. We had enough chances to at least be level at the break but the game at that point was like so many this season when we perhaps should have got more.
As the second half wore on and we were still missing good chances (for balance Southampton missed a few too) I had pretty much resigned myself to a defeat. And that feeling got worse when Ismael made his triple change as I just couldn't see how the players coming on were going to impact the game.
De Neve was arguably our best player but Tronstad and Morishita were a long way off the pace but I just thought Hedges and Montgomery wouldn't improve us. I was wrong. The driving run from Montgomery seemed to get us going and he played some smart, forward passes. Hedges got up and down the line and Henrikson started to run forwards from midfield. But I still doubted whether we'd get anything out of the game and I would certainly have taken a draw at that point.
Alebiosu, despite falling a touch below the high standard he has set got us back in with a goal which I thought was a cross. Who cares. We grasped the nettle and went for it in a manner I haven't seen for a while. The winner again probably had a touch of fortune about it but again, who cares.
After he scored Gudjohnsen was like a man possessed. Just before he scored my friend said 'he needs a goal' and hopefully now he has that monkey off his back he will get more.
In truth today's game could have finished 5-5 but again, who cares.
The downside for me today was the number of easy chances we missed but that's for another day.
Enjoy the win.
Always the review worth waiting for.

Vital win. Stops us from being cut too far adrift at an early stage.
Hopefully Gudjohnsen can kick on a bit after registering what sounded like a scruffy goal.
Changes nothing else for me. The head coach is still shit and the management and owners need to go.
Only nine points off the play offs. Lol.
And out of the bottom three.

I thought we had no chance, but what a soft lot Southampton are.
Their manager is a goner.

Its the Jack Walker stand that the TV cameras face these days, may as well make it visible to a larger audience for the whole game
The management team would have to see it though.

Would make great t-shirts

A act that needs small numbers of people but is visually impactful is the thing to go for. Get twenty people with t-shirts spelling out made in Blackburn, destroyed in Pune in front of the Riverside will be a great photo-op.

Got to say De Neve has been a busy lad down this side, that break away shows he has pace and control at his feet. Quietly impressed by the lad and can whip in a cross. Over committing to challenges worries me but can let that slide from his contributions

I think the players are giving their all at the moment and I do like the scruffy De Neve.

Fans, including me recently, have voted with their feet. That we have so many going after 15 years is testimony to our attachment to the blue and white halves. I can barely watch this lot, knowing what we all know. Not as bad as Coyle's time, but on nodding terms.

Last season we were in the top 6 all the way through and fell away to finish 7th.
Derby County, who were in administration a few years ago and League One as recently as 2024, who took our manager, captain and other players off us, and who survived in this league by the finest of margins last season.
Now we are supposed to be feeling smug that they are struggling and 'only' a point above us?
Yes, because it's slim pickings.

Yeah.
Above us in the table.
As you're presumably being critical of Eustace, you must be even more so of Ismael?
Yes, and erm, yes.

Worth noting how high-spending Derby with their top-tier coach are getting on.....

150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Posted
It's not clear at all that the white kit is official. It does seem to feature the Marcon and Rovers' logos, but in the blurb it says: (bold added)
"This commemorative shirt beautifully captures the essence of Rovers' illustrious past whilst embracing modern performance standards. The classic design features the iconic blue and white halved shirt that has become synonymous with Blackburn's rich heritage, evoking memories of legendary players and historic triumphs, including the club's remarkable Premier League title victory in 1995."
