  1. Can't say i'm disappointed as I can't stand the bloke as a commentator and if he's said that then he shouldn't be on telly anyway.
  2. No one is questioning that right but when all she can post after a match like that is more anti-Souness rubbish or pro-Celtic stuff then I think we can question. In fact I think we can say a lot more and some of the reponses have been restrained. First and foremost this is a Blackburn Rovers messageboard. We have plenty of fans on here who support other teams. No others ram their own teams 'success' down our throats or are so bitter about our manager though. If as you say the Souness' opinion is for non-Rovers reasons' which I agree on, then it has no place on here and the less said the better.
  3. One of the main reasons why I think Rover6 slowly but surely gained a lot of repect on here was that win lose or draw he always came on here to back up his argument or put his view across. I think it says a lot about some of the others that they are always hidden when we have done well.
  4. Ha ha very good Rev. One of the biggest annyoances I had to put up with when we won was from bitter reds saying we had bought the title. I always said and still do, that you need more than just money, you need a very good manager. That is what we had but to be called Kenny Super Buyer doesn't do him justice and I just find it strange that's all. I am by no means Souness' biggest fan and will as usual be giving him a bit of stick where necessary. However I can give credit where it's due also and that's why I get annoyed with some of the anti-Souness brigade.
  5. We've done all this before and I can't be bothered but for the record both Shearer and Sutton were transfer records when bought so it was hardly genius was it, more like changing markets. Also don't know which Pearce was sold for £5 million, Brosnan maybe. It's all irrelevant as i'm not interested in discussing Dalglish's transfer record but more KSB's posting record.
  6. Why does it denigrate our greatest achievement to point out that Dalglish was indeed extremely successful in the transfer market? Firstly because he wasn't extremely succesful, we were simply in the position that Ranieri finds himself now in that we could buy anyone, at any price. Secondly go on any 'rival' board and as how we won the title and they will tell you we didn't, we bought it. No self-respecting fan would therefore use that name onlya dingle on a wind up.
  7. Firstly please stop shouting. Secondly you've already been told no 'proper' Rovers fan would name themselves something that denigrates our greatest achievement. Please go back t'moor or wherever else you have crawled from.
  8. Fair play to the aussies who have been gracious in defeat. More importantly well done to the boys for a solid performance and for showing bottle. We made so many mistakes that I just kept thinking we would be punished but we deserved and we are the champions. Now come on the Rovers
  9. Erm?? If you were with him win or lose surely mid-january wouldn't make any difference. I agree. I think when he took over we needed a 'hard case' to sort out the 'rubber dinghy men'. I'm sure everyone was happy when he got rid of some of the dead wood. However, he has no idea where to stop. (getting rid of dead wood is ok but- to continue the analogy- when you start pulling up the saplings your forestry skills must be questioned) Basically you can be a hard boss, but if you don't know when to temper that with reason (which Souness patently doesn't) no-one wants to work for you. If your players don't want to play for you- or the atmosphere isn't good (note Thommo's actions on Saturday- and he's a favoured son!!!) the time has come to let someone come in who has man-management skills as well as a bit of toughness (Kidd and Harford- RIP- had none and Hodgson was undone by evil tactics of one member of his team). Of course- someone with tactics which don't involve a huge line of midfielders across the park might help too!! (of course since he's still unable to pass the midfielder shop while out looking for defenders or attackers- much like me with shoes- they're all we have.) Just had to say that unfortunately I agree with more or less every word there Jan and it's one of the first times you have explained your case well IMHO. I've given you enough stick so I thought it only fair to give credit where it's due. One of my worries this season has been the team spirit or lack of it. It's always difficult bringing a number of new people in but they really don't all seem to be together at present at that must be a real worry. I think Souness must be aware of this but whether he is sorting it or just ignoring it will make or break our season.
  10. And there he shows his ignorance. Anyone who thinks Alex McLeish is fit to lace Martin O'Neill's boots isn't a football fan. However, that said and realising that Martin O'Neill would never look at a club like us, Alex McLeish wouldn't be a bad choice. He's young, had relatively good ideas. I wouldn't have a problem with him. Why is he showing his ignorance in stating an opinion. McLeish showed in his first season that what O'Neill has done is nothing special. The only difference being that at least McLeish gets his team playing attractive football as opposed to the tried and tested lump it to the big man and have a team full of workers to do the rest that O'Neill so prefers Substitue Heskey for Hartson add a load of average workhorses who are not good enough for the Premiership and what do you have Leicester in the SPL, see it's easy. If O'Neill is so good why haven't Liverpool or Manu come in for him. Oh yeah that's right 'cos he loves Celtic and the challenge of the SPL
  11. Seems to me another piece of eveidence in the 'you don't have a clue' camp to me. Phil Boersma was replaced because of player pressure as they didn't like him and he had no rapport with them at all. This was evident both in training and during the games. Last year we did well in spite of Boersma not because of him. Don't worry though Jan don't let facts get in the way of your anti-Souness campaign.
  12. So what kind of fan is the best then eh scumbag. A bunch of burberry clad racist, murdering thugs who smash up their own town centre. I know what kind of fans i'd rather have have in the stadium. You sir are a clown and if only fans who come onto other msg boards could be sensible, intelligient like Clitheroe Claret there would be no problem. Sadly it is clear that Clitheroe is in possession of the only brain cell down't Burnley way.
  13. I'm off on holiday on monday so will try and pick a few up. as for recommendations. I've read quite a few by Kevin Sampson especially Powder and they are very good. Footy related I would recommend The Boss by Michael Crick, it's about Fergie but is very interesting and puts a different slant than his own book.
