  1. Ex-Man City starlet Michael Johnson. I recall Sven once saying that he "wouldn't even swap him for Gerrard".

After a few bad injuries he became fat and ran down his hefty 5 year contract at City after falling out of love with the game. Shame.

As 'Reverend and The Makers' sang..."I could have been the heavyweight; champion of the world"!

Nah I'm done. Nothing more to add. Boring at this time of year, esp a world cup year. Transfers don't really get going till after the tournament.

Isn't the transfer window now closed before the first game of the season hence why it's open earlier?

Story in The Times this morning.

’Burnley are the subject of a £180million takeover attempt from rival US and Middle Eastern investors’.

Walkers sold us for... less than £30million, with TV deals exploding. Our players were worth more than that, never mind our PL income and real estate.

Obvious who was the savvy one in that family...

We can only hope that those 6 fingered animals that have lorded it over us for the past 6 years fall on their own swords. It only takesthe removal of Dyche and some ridiculous appointment ala Bob Bradley at Swansea to set in the rot...

  4. Plus you can always "talk" to someone via this forum; we all disagree at time but we all share one love, Rovers. ###### happens and our online family is at each others throats right now because of the pillock of a "manager" and the bloody chicken barons but at the end of the day it's football; Shankly was wrong, life is more important and so are you loved ones.

    PM's always welcome.

Superb post. Never have I read a better one on here.

  5. 8 - Benni McCarthy

Here's a choice between two possible scenarios. Scenario A: You wander through the remainder of a season on the fringes of a team managed by a blustering hoofball merchant. You are kept out of the team most weeks by Franco Di Santo (17 appearances, one goal) or Nikola Kalinic (15 appearances, one goal).

Scenario B: You earn about twice as much money at a club who, while involved in relegation set-to, arguably have better long-term prospects, and are managed by one of the most likeable men to walk the streets of London, and who recognises that a ball is round so it can be passed along the floor.

    Tough call.

It's amazing how differing people can have such different views. In my opinion, he's joined a club really struggling at the bottom of the premier league, in massive amounts of debt for their size, and are paying over the odds for a 32 year old fat footballer.

West Ham are gambling, and gambles don't only pay off!

  6. Not at all mate. Although the midfield was an improvement to a midfield partly consisting of Andrews, I'd love to see Dunny & Reid in midfield tonight with Benni & Nicko up front and with Junior and Bert on the wings we could be in business.

I'd go with the same team that started against FUlham for the first 50 minutes and then take it from there. Dunn in central midfield isn't an option for me, he doesn't really have the legs to command the middle of the park. He's far better playing in the 'hole' behind the striker and infront of the midfield.
