  1. That’s what they do anyway. It’s the losses that are the issue.
  2. https://www.rovers.co.uk/contentassets/397cfa67d2c44384a0c159ed2ab47774/ff-minutes-13.1.20.pdf Its mostly pie talk.
  3. The minutes have landed. Very vague.
  4. We look an infinitely better side with him in the team. This proves it.
  5. Brilliant result. Shows we have that quality, just woefully inconsistent. Brilliant to see Rankin- Costello in the first team. Nyambe, Downing and Holtby getting 90 mins each too is very pleasing - them 3 will be key for the remainder of the season.
  6. Because he is dreadful.
  7. Venky’s have continually only appointed managers from a very small pool that share one essential criteria.
  8. As I said, I wasn’t there, just reporting what I’ve heard. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in that. I fully accept that I might not have got absolutely everything Waggott stated as it was intended due to it being second hand. For me, the salient point is that there was consideration of a sale and buy/lease back of Ewood due to FFP concerns. I wasn’t overly concerned about the hypothetical sale of a now injured player. Rich Sharpe also being cautious about reporting anything until the minutes of the meeting are published. I really don’t see any problem, unless it is expected that the minutes aren’t going to constitute an accurate record of what was discussed.
  9. Brilliant post.
  10. I wasn’t there. I’m relaying the information I got from people who were. My first thoughts were not about questioning the Dack transfer, they were concerns for Ewood Park. Thank god for the ACV and well done to Paul!
  11. Steve Waggott. At the fans forum.
  12. And I expect that they need the money quicker than within 6 months so it’s back to the drawing board
  13. Apparently there has been a lot of talk about this at the fans forum tonight. I wasn’t at the meeting, but apparently the big news was this: We are right on the cusp of breaching FFP rules The plan was to sell Dack this window to remain compliant Since his injury they have looked into a sale and lease/buy back of Ewood. They decided against this due to the ACV on the ground. Other avenues are being explored. So I wouldn’t expect any signings this window.
  14. What do Mowbray and Brereton have in common? The same agent!
  15. Sent to The Hague to answer for his crimes against football.
  16. The referee yesterday got loads of stick. He’s continuing to get loads of abuse on Twitter. No denying he did a really poor job, but I’m sure he tried his best and did his job honestly and with integrity. Where is the consistency? I’ve seen no outcry and concern for his mental health and general wellbeing? Ps. Brereton didn’t cry. Load of bollocks.
  17. Invites are sent to various supporter groups and they have to respond with the names of those attending and any questions they wish to submit. BRFCS are one of those groups.
  18. I’m definitely one of those that lost patience with Pedersen during the latter half of his spell here. I would agree entirely that his form dropped off massively and he was lucky to play as frequently as he did for a good couple of seasons. However, even at his worst he is far and away better than 99% of the dross we have had since, and as frustrating as I found him I don’t think his commitment to the club can be questioned. Accusing him of milking the club is incredibly unfair. Rather than blue and white tinted spectacles, I’d say it’s more a case of don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone. That said, I don’t agree with all this “legend” stuff flying about, or calls for him to have a testimonial. Particularly when better servants to the club, who earned for less and actually qualified for one never got one.
  19. Traditionally you’d get one for 10 years at a club, with the purpose being to give the player some financial reward when wages were a lot more modest. In this day and age, where Leon Best got far more money out of us than Simon Garner ever did, they tend to be charity events at higher levels. If a top flight player today fancied buying a pub he could just save up for a couple of weeks. Still a thing in lower leagues and different countries.
  20. If we are going for a Pedersen 11, I think we should remember there is a left winger who actually qualified for a testimonial but never got one. Therefore I’d make it a joint venture. Pedersen 11 . Friedel Neill Samba Nelsen Warnock Bentley Savage Tugay Pedersen McCarthy Santa Cruz Subs: Robinson, Zurab, Emerton, Johansson, Gray, Mokoena, Reid, Thompson, Bentley, Roberts, Derbyshire Wilcox 11 . Flowers Kenna Hendry Moran Le Saux Ripley Cowans Atkins Wilcox Garner Shearer Subs: Mimms, Brown, Wright, Morrison, Pearce, Marker, Batty, Carsley, McKinlay, Skinner, Richardson, Sellars, Gallacher, Newell, Speedie, Baah, Hill, Dobson, Marcolin, Davidson Lots of subs required for the second team! Raise funds for the Len Johnrose trust. Bellamy used to pick on Pedersen. Berg would get an invite, but can’t see him coming!
  21. Downing, by a mile. Nyambe is the only other player with a chance of being in the conversation if he plays regularly for the remainder of the season. If he’d have got any sort of look in for the first quarter of games instead of inexplicably playing second fiddle to Bennett it would be between him and Downing.
  22. I suspect what’s happened here is as follows... Brereton has performed poorly, again, and been subbed off. A few people have made ironic cheers, maybe the odd couple have booed, and a few people probably shouted something along the lines of “get off, you are shit”. The majority of the supporters there will have stood up and applauded him with varying degrees of enthusiasm. He probably looked a bit disappointed in his performance. Which he should have been. This whole scenario has since been reimagined with our fans as a baying mob hurling disgusting abuse at an apparently crushed and inconsolably sobbing Brereton as he trudged off the field. Criticism and abuse are not one and the same. Referees are human, all of them undoubtably try their best, yet they are barracked from all corners in every single match, and their performances scrutinised and criticised whatever they do. Why doesn’t the virtue signalling extend to them? Branding any criticism of a footballer as abuse is really problematic. I’ve seen fans vilified and bullied disgracefully via social media for simply voicing an opinion (the situation with Bennett on twitter earlier this season being a prime example). There is also a risk of it threatening to trivialise real issues like racism. Also, please let’s not try diagnosing Brereton’s mental health. I expect the support network He has around the club will do that far more effectively than any of us are capable of. Obviously I hope he is ok, and wouldn’t wish any abuse or mental health illness upon him. I do however think he has been an abysmal signing, and one which is more than a little fishy.
  23. I expect the claim that they ever have done is absolute fantasy
  24. Anybody heard anything about the date for this yet? They are already very late with this.
  25. Pretty happy with that line up considering the injuries we have. I’m a big proponent of 4-4-2 but I think with our two most natural wingers having to fill in at full back we are better off going 4-2-3-1. I’d really like to see Buckley get a run of games in the ‘Dack role’.
