Enter day 102 of rabid fervour??

How do you work out he is worth more than £3m? Where is the evidence to back up your claim? In 50 yrs of watching Rovers I’ve seen the likes of Bradshaw, Jones, Gennoe, Flowers, Bunn, Filan and many more including Brad Friedel. Raya doesn’t come anywhere near them in terms of class. He was not worth over £3m last year. So if and when he does move on then the few Rovers will have received will be in excess of £5m which is very good value for a player who cost faff all. Is he any better than Walton? Stats might say they are in a par with each other it’s what’s in front of them that’s the issue
-
I disagree Raya was really not that good especially as some seem to think. That is my opinion of course. As good a shot stopper he was he still had many flaws. Top goal keepers go for big bucks Raya is not a top goalie yet
-
The decision to sell RAYA was made once he wanted to leave it’s as simple as that !
-
And so it goes on.........can’t believe we haven’t had any insider info from AN?

People have their own views on Raya and his value. For me he was at times a calamity, others he was a saviour but those occasions were few and far between. To get £3m for him from a championship club was good business especially with a sell on clause. I do not recall any premiership clubs being in for him whilst at Rovers and in any case he didn’t showcase premiership qualities at Ewood. He might have improved slightly at Brentford when playing in a footballing team but at times his goalkeeping was questionable, we saw it versus Rovers and we saw it in the play offs. If he goes to arsenal fair play, he won’t ever be a number 1 for any long period of time, he will be a benchwarmer. If arsenal think he is worth £13m they are utterly daft, he is not! So if he does move and we get a slice of the fee then £5-£6m for him represents good business for us In my view.

He will be a bench warmer for at least 3 years if not more
-
Mowbrays days are numbered if you ask me! He cannot have any more excuses that are acceptable for defensive lapses like today it’s no good going to a recently relegated premiership club scoring twice and outplaying them YET still end up losing !
-
Defenders keep backing off and every time it results in a goal against
-
Has his head been turned?
-
Premier money it’s as simple as that ! Champ to champ transfers don’t invite huge transfer fees whereas in the PL champ clubs hold the cards
-
If you back off you invite shots on goal it’s fucking basic football which some of this team are failing to grasp ! Poor defensive set up
-
Hanley left out of Norwich squad! Raya not in the right frame of mind to play ? King out if Bournemouth squad? It’s all happening as well as Rivers losing on the opening day of the season
-
Not one Rovers player closed him down keepers is utterly not to blame for that !
-
No we definitely do not have a striker on the bench
-
First day of a new season and I feel so underwhelmed! No new shirt and no season ticket! It’s just not football ?
-
If he scores the winner tomorrow you show your arse in the windows of Woolies in bumley

Raya was a championship to championship transfer and he wanted to go. The fee was reasonable along with the sell on clause, it’s the world of football we currently live in. Wanker kean could have got Son for peanuts before he went for £20m plus but he didn’t! The profit on him would have been great. The money we will see from sell on clauses is a bonus obtained from a view of the future ability of the player, there are no guarantees of success but as we are a run of the mill club we are stuck. Unless the big boys come calling for the likes of Armstrong or Travis then any transfer fees from championship clubs will be a fraction of potential fees from the premiership.

Bolton are going to find themselves in deep shit! No fans in the ground before October 5th and then it’s after a trial. 30% of capacity to allow SD with no away fans just wont work. -
Derby look to be signing a Nathan Byrne from pie eaters good defender and cheap!
-
So we are not going down? The defence in the last 9 games shipped goal after goal. Luton, Barnsley, millwall, reading, Cardiff,Wigan and Bristol put 14 goals last us with ease. There has been no improvement in the back 4 in fact it’s a very weakened defence as I see it. Nothing I see of our current team fills me with confidence in keeping clean sheets. We might score goals but it is pretty clear we will ship at an alarming rate UNLESS we see a big hairy arsed defender who isn’t afraid to put his head where it hurts!
