Different teams , times and std of football, but Dack in his pom is still probably the most naturally talented player we have . He won't lose his first touch , vision , passing, ability use his body to hold off / roll opposition and finishing . He just won't be able to chase around like a manic.

If Dack does only loss a bit of pace and the rest of his game returns . I'm sure there's a role for him . We didn’t just drop Tugay as he wasn't fast / couldn't press . I know one of Dacks strong points is finishing around the box, where as Tugay was long shots and range of passing , but Dack has more to offer than just finishing. Time will tell to what standard he returns to .

Our attacking options aren't great really. Dack , SG, BBD might not fit system or be sold (bbd) . The rest are not tried /tested first 11 players

Sure there was a chance where bbd took a shot tight angle from the left. Vale was waiting for a tap in but was ignored.

How else do you find out if they can cut it without loaning them out ? Surely if rovers show quick progression to first team, better youth players will be recruited on going, because they get a chance. These are back up squad players, early doors not starting 11

I'm personally content with the squad/ transfer situation. There's 7 games to see if the youth players can play a part , or if some need to progress more before being included. If bulking squad players were signed, youth would not get an opportunity. Quality over Quantity signings for me at the moment

Regarding Philips and other stand out youth players, there should be a fixed % of future transfer fee paid to the player developing clubs . Ie now with him potentially signing a pro contract with spurs at 17 , rovers should get 30% of future fee. Previous club 10% It might slightly put the big fish off, from youth player poaching
