  1. If we continue with this system and WB's , which I feel we should. Then RN is not 100% suited to it and I would be happy for a change. He is a defensive RB not a WB that carries a threat. When we attack , the team is unbalanced in its attacking threat in the final third. No sale of players to promotion rivals!
  2. From what I saw/ remember of JRC, I like him and he can produce a moment of quality. TM said right back wasn't his final position and could see him playing further forward in future. He seems to have had the same goals / assists numbers as Nyambe, during his break through period before this injury. Though JRC needed just half the games to reach the same total as RN . I just think he has potential and now needs some luck with injuries to see what he can/ can't do before being dismissed .
  3. I think Nyambe is great at what he does , but lacks the final ball . He's picking up good positions, but it needs to be someone with an end product receiving it in those positions.
  4. If the profit on a sale was made available for team strengthening, then I could except a 25-30 million sale . Thought Newcastle would be a bad move for him , in the summer he would be replaced with a bigger fish .
  5. The run had to come to an end at some stage and that wasn't a bad end ,considering Huddersfields position, clean sheet. Hopefully that can give us a kick to go on another run. If we do it won't be a bad point. Looking forward to the day Dack comes on as a 60min sub , was crying out for that today . Nyambe is getting into lots of good positions but my heart sinks when I see its him with the opportunity. If someone with a better end product got in those positions it would make a big difference. I'm not knocking Nyambe he's good at what he does but an end product would be the cherry on top. Or a player that has one JRC ....
  6. True, TM was quoted today saying Dack in training is the best player at the club , but at 1 /10 of the fitness required for 1st team . Fingers crossed for the last bit of rehab
  7. It is tough, Khadra is there for speed which isn't Dack's strength. I wonder if BBD did leave and SG got a run, if Dack would play off him as an option, similar to Graham and Dack previously.
  8. TM suggested today that Buckley may have to compete with Dack when fit for a spot. Who would you drop for Dack , if at all ? TM still regards Dack as the best player. Could Buckley replace Travis due to his tackling/ interception ability? A middle three of Dack, Rothwell and Buckley may be cavalier but I personally would enjoy seeing it .
  9. Who knows other than TM , but systems change , had a budget to spend and forwards better investment, have options, lack of youth coming through in the positions, players progressing differently to expected .... Seemed mad when we needed a defence etc but at least its working out OK with a profit on the moves .
  10. JR has been a good player but not constantly good to make him important until this season. Brereton should of been signed up before the summer explots in hindsight. Lenihan on here anyway hasn't been highly regarded previously, take a look at his thread. Even unleaded thought a contract was a waste of money and he was no better than J Lowe . Just my opinion anyway, each to their own and all that 👍. Just happy things are more positive.
  11. TM mentioned this recently, ie the out of contract players may find if they wait too long, the club secures replacements for them .
  12. Quite a few players have very quickly gone from having there doubters to being important players Armstrong , BBD even Rothwell, Buckley, Lenihan have this season stepped it up a level. If the club signs them up before hand it's a waste of money, once the players stock has risen they are in a stronger position and the club gets it for not planning ahead.
  13. Funny how things workout , imagine if he had been sacked after the Fulham game.
  14. Results in January could be key to contracts . We have Huddersfield (H), Cardiff (A) ,Middlesbrough (H) and Luton (A). Which on present form look winnable games. If we are still flying end of January, they would be taking a big gamble signing for a team below us or bottom of Premier .
  15. Nope , just they haven't managed to reach an agreement with the others yet. Doesn't mean they should stop trying to secure those who are willing to sign .
  16. If BBD leaves SG will get a chance as the main striker. Who's to say he then doesn't start banging them in and suddenly we are in the same contract situation as with AA and BBD . I know it seems unlikely but its happened twice now and the club would get accused of being short-sighted not to secure assets.
  17. So if they splash the cash in January but still get relegated . Can they get caught in this financial fair play jig and not be able to buy there way out ? I guess it depends on how long there down for and how the accounts look with accounting period , parachute payments/ high wage. The problem might be because they are desperate , they end up with high paid mercenaries on the books but in the wrong league. Similar to rovers at the time .
  18. They have Leeds, Leicester, Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool as there next fixtures . Lucky to get more than 3 points out of that
  19. Hard not to , but definitely progress being made 👍
  20. Time will tell if this thead continues, but on Sunday there could be just 3 teams separating us in the league. In 2017-18 we finished 2nd league 1 , while they were 7th in Premier league ( 38 teams separating) I honestly couldn't see us getting back and we were in a right state, but just maybe the rightful order will be restored with a promotion and there relegation. That's my new year wish anyway , together with covid doing one .
  21. Personally I would be happy with no one leaving especially BBD and a settled side , not effected by the usual injuries. Anything more a bonus. Alot of other clubs fans are hoping we lose BBD in January to derail us .
  22. Shit 😆, thanks . Though it was a rovers youth player getting match day experience 😅
  23. Who is the young player in the background please ? Been with the last 2 match day squads . Adam Wharton..... I'm not sure
  24. There was a young lad with the first team squad who I saw and possibly at the Birmingham match ,anyone know who he is? He has blonde hair , quite slight, looked a bit goofy and looked very young. Really stood out due to looking so young. I've looked at the under 23 & 18 squad, possibly Adam Walton but not sure.
