  1. Poundstretcher? He'd have to supersize it.
  2. 4k doesn't seem like very much to me actually, I would have expected more.
  3. He still missed quite a bit of time while he was here. We need to stay well clear of him.
  4. Bought Dark Sector. I've not played much of it, but from what I've seen so far I'd make two comments: 1. Graphics are great. 2. AI is amazingly poor. I also picked up Viking, which looks like it could be anohter Assasins Creed (ie, had the makings of a classic, but fell short).
  5. You really have to mix up your play selection a lot and you need to run the ball. You also need to be hitting guys for short completions rather than going for the big play, basically you have to have a realistic approach. You'll also need to learn when it's the right time to throw.
  6. It's not as simple as that. A great part of MGP's game is the amount of defensive work he puts in, he's been doing that all season, but it goes mostly unnoticed. Where his game has been well below par, apart from the lack of goals, is in his control and his passing. Yesterday both were much better. If he can pass well and keep control of the ball then I don't mind if he doesn't score another goal all season. He's not simply a goalscorer, he can do more than that and he needs to do more than that.
  7. Should have gone with the bears!
  8. Well Fable 2 has now been delayed, a game I was really looking forward to. I just think they shouldn't bother even giving you a release date anymore, I can't remember many big games that have made it out on time in the past couple of years.
  9. Quite a lot of people liked him even when he was England manager.
  10. It has to be defamatory.
  11. The thing about MGP, at least for me, is that although I would sell him, I also wouldn't be surprised to see him be a big success elsewhere. He certainly has talent, in the right team he would be a very good player, as he was earlier for us. I still think he will turn it around eventually.
  12. Seems to be all too common at the moment though. What was the last major release that wasn't pushed back?
  13. We seem to have had a lot of players recently who have kids without getting married.
  14. I used the wall mount package thing that came with it, fixed onto the wall quite easily. It was falt against the wall, but I could have tilted it down slightly, but would have had to pulled it slightly further away from the wall in order to be able to do that.
  15. I'm in the Tony Gale camp here. I think he's an ok player and valuable member of the squad, but he'll never be good enough to regularly start for us.
  16. I've had a walmounted tv, only a couple inches off of the wall, probably about 5-5/12 feet up the wall. Not very hard to do.
  17. Yeah, it is surprising that it didn't get any nominations for that work, my problem with the movie was that it was really only that, but it certainly was well done.
  18. I thought Juno was pretty good, nice little film. Really dsliked 300 and Zodiac though, so probably just very different tastes.
  19. My point is, if you were all working in an enviroment where players were earning upwards of 100k a week and you thought that you were one of the most talented players in the league, then why would you accept an offer of 55k a week. It's still a lot of money, but compared to some of your peers it is "nothing". It's easy to forget now that his career has gone slightly off track and he's been hit by a lot of injuries, but after Euro 2004 I think most would have considered him the best left-back in the world, so he would have expected to be earning close to top-dollar. Now I'm not saying that justifies him coming out and making an ass of himself in the press, he should just shut up about it and be happy with the contract he has, but those of you being critical of him for either being surprised by how low the offer from Arsenal was or for then rejecting it and moving clubs to get more should just consider how you would react if you were in his situation. I don't think any footballer deserves 55k a week, that isn't at all what I'm saying, but I think some of the criticism on here is undeserved.
  20. Here's the thing, how many of you would honestly have turned down the bigger wage offer?
  21. You can play gamecube games on the wii?
  22. Well, the only thing that works in our favour in that respect is that I don't see many jobs becoming available soon. Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs have recently changed managers. Arsenal and United have no reason to, unless one of them retires. Villa, City, Everton and Portsmouth will all be very happy with who they have at the moment. The only real threat is Liverpool, but I can't see them going for Hughes even if, more likely when, Benitez goes.
  23. We're not exaclty the only club to be midtable or slightly above who haven't spent absolute billions on players.
  24. I'm really looking forward to Juno, as an Arrested Development fan it's nice to see a couple of them working together.
  25. Producing the goods for me means getting the side to play well. As I said, nothing to do with the Coventry game really, I've never judged a player or a manager based on one game. Why is Hughes more likely to turn it around than Souness? Souness had more managerial experience and more money to spend (it seems). Hughes was fantastic at Wales for a while, then things went stale, so you could say that based on his record he is sticking true to form. I don't look at the team we have now and think it's an achievement to be clear of relegation. When I look at the team we have now I see a side that should be in the top 6-7, we aren't. We're close, but if you want me to specifically define what doing well is rather than simply judging it on performances (which I feel is the far more valid way to do it), then we are 2-3 spots below where we should be. We could still have a good year, we could still finish in the top 4 (won't happen), or the top 6 (good chance), but that doesn't change the fact that as things stand they aren't looking that great.
