Perhaps he thought Ferguson would stay and an attacking midfielder would go someway towards compensating our deficiencies up front. What happens if Dickov and Johnson are injured? Maybe there was little chance of us signing a quality striker in january but I don't remember us even trying! Spurs signed Mido and he's become an instant hero. Brum signed Pandiani and I think his debut was impressive with him hitting the bar from a long range shot against Man U. Just remembered we were linked to Hartson for a while.

After reading those comments I have to say I'm not surprised. He criticised Spurs for their defensive attitude to the game. He probably lied to everyone regarding the alleged meeting between himself and Cole. He said something negative about man city after they beat them (can't quite remember what it was) All in all, I'd rather Chelsea won it this season but out of all three, I'd go for the frenchman anyday (you don't see him dripping with arrogance wherever he walks and he tends not to engage in petty psychological games).

I haven't read his comments re your thread but having read his strange unwarranted outburst at rover6 on the chelski thread, I wouldn't take it personally. Poor Barry Ferguson!! How disheartening it must have been for him to see the rovers fans leave early. Contrast that with the elation he must have felt when he scored the equalising goal for Scotland in that fine 2-2 draw against the biggest team in the world. How barry's suffered at ewood!!
