Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 This time last year Warnock didn't like Ince and Ince told him about Newcastle United - in front of the rest of the players. Remind me. Why did we sack him again?! That's astonishingly unprofessional... Nicko, do you know exactly why Warnock didn't get on with Ince? If neither Bent, Bentley or Huddlestone weren't being included in any deal for Warnock, we shouldn't be interested in selling Warnock.

I would take any of them 3 Tottenham players but loosing Warnock would be devastating. Had any of yous ever met Ince? I didnt get the chance. I bought the review of last season on dvd and there was an interview with Ince at the end. All seemed so positive.............what went wrong?
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I bought the review of last season on dvd and there was an interview with Ince at the end. All seemed so positive.............what went wrong? Sounding out one of your players infront of the rest of the squad for a start... I didn't know he did that...
ni_rover Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I never knew of that either Ben. The Sun Newpaper had articles about players not being happy because the training was very unprofessional and the only time you saw Incey was when they were having a 5-a-side kickabout. And off course the poor results and league position it left us in left the board with no choice but to sack him. There seems to be alot more going on behind closed doors than we hear about!
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Brum have just signed Christian Benitez... Gotta say im very disappointed we didn't consider him...
ni_rover Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Stay on topic please Guys n Gals! Oh look at you lol. Ok I suppose we're slightly off track Mr Rowley lol!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Brum have just signed Christian Benitez... Gotta say im very disappointed we didn't consider him... We did, but he broke his leg.
Backroom Tom Posted June 3, 2009 Backroom Posted June 3, 2009 Brum have just signed Christian Benitez... Gotta say im very disappointed we didn't consider him... How do you know we didn't?
ni_rover Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 There are people on here and it amazes me how much they know (or think they know lol)
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 How do you know we didn't? I know we haven't in the last 6 months. Thats for sure...
Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 How much for - £6m+? If so, thats why we didnt! Too expensive for an unknown who doesnt have prem experience. We only paid that for both Benni & RSC.
nicko Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Benitez's fee will be a lot lower than £9 million...lower up-front fee and all sorts of clauses. Could be good business. But he is very small.
ffan Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Because he had a broken leg? Yep. And it means that Birmingham have spent the bulk of their budget, I would imagine on one player, while Rovers and the rest haven't even scratched the surface of their budget.
Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Who's reporting £9m Nicko? Some business seems to be getting done abit earlier than normal this summer. Barry & Benitez already moved for decent cash.
tcj_jones Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Ah, but ffan, you're presuming that we have anything to spend. Hughes and Ince's net spends in their time here were both negative. I doubt we'll be bringing anybody in until Roque leaves. If he doesn't then I fear that we won't be able to strengthen the midfield adequately and will struggle next season.

Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Sam isnt daft - even if its done by freebies - we will be stronger next season than the one we have just finished. Reports in the north east are linking us to a £4m move for Nolan again!!
tcj_jones Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 we have signed a midfielder/winger allready!!! Wasn't he a free transfer? Ok, let me rephrase that - we won't be bringing anybody in for a noteworthy fee until Roque is gone. Plus, Sam says this guy is unlikely to feature until after Christmas anyway. Hughesy, I have faith in Sam, but it'd take something quite exceptional for him to strengthen the midfield in the way it needs to be without spending any money.
