Mc Love Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Any chances of Sam being interested in Robbie Keane - would love to see him in the blue and white halves. I heard this morning that he was on his way out of the lane! Steaua Bucharest interested.

mhead Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 If John Williams reads this can he not co-opt legend Tugay to work for the Rovers for a few months....firstly in the back-room but mainly to talk to Boro's Tuncay and get a class act at Ewood rather than Peter Crouch clones. Surely a bonus to Tugay to bring and befriend Tuncay. Think of the savings on shirt letters! And according to the Grauniad for £8m....with Fulham and others after him.
alexanders Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Portsmouth close to doing it if the bank has left them with any money. Foreign deals are easier because you can pay on the drip. One or two other clubs sniffing but Pompey think he is coming later in the week. Do you reckon us to be one of them?
thenodrog Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 nicko ! any more news mate? Good and well thought out post TrueBlue. You really bring a lot to this mboard. btw Alan a close friend of yours is he?
Hughesy Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Cant see Robbie Keane being available cheap enough, and his wages will be big. Lets get Di Santo in this week - then we are in a much stronger position, and not as desperate when trying to negotiate our deals. Tuncay would be an awesome signing - but we havent been linked with him much, so cant see that we have any interest there!
nicko Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Do you reckon us to be one of them? There are two others sniffing around Kalinic...Rovers not one of them at this stage.
tcj_jones Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Nicko, I don't suppose somebody could just quickly list the players who have supposedly been on our radar and what the current situation is with them, could you? I'm completely lost at the moment as to what the hell is going on and it would be appreciated. I know we've been linked with Negredo, Gignac, Pogrebnyak, Jones, Davies, Gignac, Chamakh, Bent, Crouch, Zigic etc - a lot of players - and yet we still look nowhere near to signing anybody.
Hughesy Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Nicko - is there any more outgoings? Brown? Zurab? And Fielding (whats happening with that bid)? Has Tuncay got any suitors yet?
alexanders Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 There are two others sniffing around Kalinic...Rovers not one of them at this stage. Strange. I think I've heard that we were interested in the Hajduk Split striker. We can't have been impressed by his performance against us though. I think its a patience game at the moment. If some of these moves stalls, we will hold better cards negotiating with the one we want.
mhead Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Tugay could have a real friend rather than an 'imaginary' friend.

NEGREDO...Real using him as a pawn in the Alonso game...could yet become available. GIGNAC...found that one hard to believe...but you never know. POGGY...a hot one last weekend...gone a bit cold since. JONES...depends on Sunderland finding two top strikers who fancy living in Seaham. DAVIES...totally off the radar now...just signed a new deal at Bolton. GIGNAC...so good you mentioned him twice. CHAMAKH...wants Arsenal, Sunderland want him...Rovers spectating. BENT...always too expensive. CROUCH...wants to stay down south...Spurs got him cheap. ZIGIC...seems to want to stay with Valencia...that could change when the games start.

Davies - When was that? Chamakh - Wouldnt be suprised if he becomes available - Sunderland are abit like Hull (Struggling to attract their top targets)

nicko Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Davies - When was that? Agreed a new deal at the weekend. Should be in the Mirror today. Not been to get it yet... Nicko, what you think about Keane - surely its time he moved again? Yes, but he might move again by the end of August if you bought him. Very strange situation. Why did Spurs take him back? And where is he going to fit in? Isn't he their captain? Every time you think Spurs might be getting it together there is a stupid little drama building up around the place. Showbiz club.
Majiball Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Hi Nicko, Chap have you heard anything on our academy appointment???? Cheers
tcj_jones Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Cheers Nicko. As we appear to be either getting rejected or priced out of a move left, right and centre, the one consolation I'm taking is that we aren't Hull or Portsmouth!

Thanks for the reply, just heard on irish radio todayfm that he could be on the move again. Suppose everyone knows its a mickey mouse operation at White Hart Lane
thenodrog Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Nicko.... please may I leave the classrooom? Nicko.... what did you have for breakfast? Nicko.... please can you show me how to tie my shoes? Nicko.... can you tell me how to put one foot in front of another so that I may move forward? Nicko.... is the earth flat or round Nicko.... Nicko.... repeat to oblivion.. Bloody well grow up children! If there is a newsworthy comment to be made that does not conflict with his 'day job' I'm sure that AN will give it and no amount of incessant, infantile pleading will affect that situation. If it were me I'd be less likely to share snippets not more. Dunno how he's going on but the immaturity displayed now that schools out is doing my bloody head in. Admin can we not make the transfer thread readable by all but only open to contribution by the over 35's? And whilst we are at it should whichever club is supported by all posters not also be required under 'group'? Fulham Fan, Sam Dingle, Longsider are easy enough to spot and they do not hide their allegiance but there are so many newbies coming on from other clubs that it would help if we knew their agenda.

67splitscreen Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Warnock ?????? The problem with Warnock he does not have a starting role in his natural position. (LB) We know he has the versatility to play down the left side in any of three positions. With Givet at LB, as I don't see Nelson being given the chop, where do you fit Warnock in, in a 5 man MF fine but in a four we lose the creative MF to accommodate him. In a three man MF I don't think he has the quality. Warnock is better at LB than givet in the attacking sense but not as good at defending than Givet, Olsson is not ready for the LB role, even as cover he is suspect. So Warnock becomes a stand in (squad player) can't see that lasting beyond January. It's like having an ace in your hand at cards but if you can't play it it's useless. It would be a bitter pill to swallow for most fans but if the right offer came in, I can see Sam accepting at some point for the good of the team.

thenodrog Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Very strange situation. Why did Spurs take him back? Were Lpool unable to pay possibly? There was a lot of manoevering with the RB of S at the time.
tcj_jones Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Admin can we not make the transfer thread readable by all but only open to contribution by the over 35's? Come on, I know you're getting old and past it, but I think it's a stretch to be calling the under 35 'kids'. Secondary school education still only runs to 16, Thenodrog!
LeChuck Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 DAVIES...totally off the radar now...just signed a new deal at Bolton. Best news all summer. No mention of Di Santo in there nicko? Do I remember you saying something about a decision on 28th July or I have a made that up?
