EWOODACE1 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 besides not having the best of teams im worried about the fixture list. our 1st 3 games where very important to get a good start and so far it couldnt have been much worse. out of the next 5 home games only 1 of them are winnable. looking at the fixtures we could be 7-8 points off saftey before we even get going. this is even if we do bring in some players. it will all be down to how we do away from home

yoda Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 "where are our points coming from" Steve Kean's driving licence. even he hasn't got enough yet!
BRFC1995 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 we barely threaten the opposition and our defence is frighteningly bad not a clue where the points come from, 3-1 completely flattered us yesterday villa could have had sackfulls Bin off the 2 upfront Bin off Salgado Get ollsen in midfield energy and pace could be a revelation box to box emerton back from injury at rb 5 in midfield loan hanley out stick kean on gardening leave if hes unsackable and let nelsen pick the team bin off pedersen ........................................robbo......................................... Hoilett and Olsson in a central midfield three? Surely no-one would be daft enough to try that? Is that you Keano?
niggit Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Put N'zonzi in for Dunn and move into central midfield. Move Ollsen and Hoillet with Formica. Then maybe it's right.

That would be the worse thing we could do. We need to defensive mids because at the minute we just haven't got the steel to keep teams out. We need wide wingers to cause havoc down the flanks, a playmaker in the middle and a decent forward who can bang goals in. Well that's wot it seems like kean is trying to achieve. Just can't understand why he played the formation he did on saturday. Wednesday is a must win game, if we lose or draw that and then do that again on Saturday morale will be at an all time low. But looking on the bright side if we win on Wednesday it might kick start the season and get a win against everton at weekend, things might look a whole lot more rosey. Well here's to hoping!
dazmaz Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Whos this ollsen? Have we signed someone and not announced it?
chris Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Its refreshing to see Salgado (Salagadro) and Olsson (Ollsen) away from the defense, they really are weak. I like Olssen in midfield though. Still too weak upfront, have no idea if Goodwillie can do it, cheap and unproven so far, so hard to say. It's so depressing having a crap manager, its really hard to be hopeful, but I think Everton could be a draw.
philipl Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 The problem we are having is we are blowing away points with wht actually is by Premier League standards an easy start to the Fixture List.
John Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Might not excite the owners or those fans who crave total football but really need to get back to (try) keeping clean sheets. Injuries have been a massive factor therefore hopefully we can get a settled back 4 out on the pitch asap. From a defence perspective, I don’t like playing Dunn in a 4 man midfield – Pedersen is also guilty of this but both like to give the ball away in dangerous positions which lead to more pressure on the defence. On Dunn, he was probably in his best form when he was playing behind the main striker, scoring goals and all round play was excellent. Seems like he is not favoured in that role currently.

Sam Allardyce would get us out of this mess- that's for sure.
OhmiBRFC Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 But he is long gone, and not coming back. So it's irrelevant.

Could not agree more. Clean sheets, five in midfield, two defensive midfielders, stop isolating Dunn and MGP in a midfield 4, get Dunn further forward around the box where has can harm the opposition, focus on and take pride in defending well and try and gain a couple of results, to assist with confidence, get some points on the board and buy some time for injured players to recover and new players to arrive. Where are the points coming from? Very good question. The next four at home look very tough, the away games look easier apart from the fact that they are away. As said above, it is hard to be proactive and upbeat with Kean in charge as little makes any sense.
JAL Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ........................................robbo......................................... Emerton...................Samba....................Hanley (for now)....................Givet ...............Hoillet............Petrovic....N'Zonzi..........Ollsen...................... ............................................Formica................................. .............................................................................. ............................................Rochina............................ I'd bin Nelsen, along with Salgado and Dunn. Goodwillie looks too slow at the moment for prem football. I'd be tempted to drop Formica from above and put either Roberts or even MGP in as a central striker purely for his heading ability, buy hey, Ollson simply has to play further up field agreed, as at left back it just reduces our threat and sells Ollsons potential short. But you've got to look at the opposition though which could see changes to the team above.
