davulsukur
Looking at getting my wife a digital camera for Christmas mainly because we are expecting a new Rover in May and I expect that she will go photo crazy when it is born. Basically looking for a reasonably priced digital camera, easy enough to use, that takes decent photos/videos. Anyone got anything they could recommend? Cheers Dave

CapeTownRover
when IT is born? Lol, love it Dave hahaha. i will suggest that you look at the Canon range of digital cameras, as well some of the Sonys and Samsungs. i know you are looking for an affordable camera, but i would seriously consider the SLR camers if you can afford it, as it deffinately takes better pics, and also its a real good investment imo. Im looking into that, but not to purchase right now, as i just recently purchased a home lol

Cheers Dave My choice would be this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-D3200-Digital-Camera-18-55mm/dp/B007VBGTX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355212622&sr=8-1 At 40% off its a steal, but still quite a lot of money. For something less bulky, this is getting good reviews, it also has 3G and cloud - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Galaxy-Camera-Optical-Android/dp/B009K27FNY/ref=lp_430660031_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1355212756&sr=1-

LeChuck
My choice would be this - http://www.amazon.co...55212622&sr=8-1 At 40% off its a steal, but still quite a lot of money. A quick Google suggests it's available around that price everywhere. Amazon's RRPs are a load of nonsense. Incidentally, so is there policy on tax payment. I spent hundreds there last christmas. Haven't spent a penny this year. Shame more people are boycotting.
M-K
There's a lot of very good camera gear in Amazon's "lightning deals" promotion lately: http://www.amazon.co.uk/deals-offers-savings/b/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27?ie=UTF8&node=350613011 I honestly couldn't give a toss about Amazon's tax avoidance, as long as I can get cheap stuff from them! cn174
Depends if you want a DSLR or just a normal compact digital camera. If it is the latter then I would recommend Lumix camera's very highly. I've had mine for nearly three years now and if/when it breaks I'll be getting another one. This is nice value especially if you look at the new/used: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-TZ18-Digital-Camera/dp/B004I1KOM6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1355658682&sr=8-
