A - They are happy to leave us in limbo in the hope we will have a miraculous season whereby we are promoted on peanuts - waiting for the day somebody informs them that has happened and they can return to the stage as concerning heroes. B - They’re scared of what shady business dealings will be uncovered from their tenure during any potential takeover. B 1 Quote
JHRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If getting back to the PL was even remotely of interest or on their radar then they would have conducted themselves very differently over the last 3-4 years. Like offering a drop of support to the 3 managers that got them within touching distance, not sold off all their best players, not undermined them, not allowed the last two to engineer moves away mid-season. That sort of thing. So we can safely drop the notion that they are waiting for a miraculous / unexpected return to PL riches. They've made it as clear as they possibly can they aren't interested and will actively sabotage our prospects of promotion if they can. 4 Quote
rovgers Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I don’t believe the notion that they’re sabotaging our prospects of promotion or wouldn’t want it. I’ve no idea why they still want to own us, the only reason I can think off is they don’t want the shame of walking away as failure (even though most would agree it is). I can see them more likely to sell the club if we were in the Premier League, which unfortunately won’t happen. Quote
JHRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Surely they'd be less likely to walk away in the PL (if they ever allowed us to get there)? Overnight their annual losses would stop and even an immediate relegation would take away the financial pressure for a few years. No doubt they'd also bask in the glory and turn up for a game against Man Utd / Liverpool with their mates as well. No I'm convinced the only way it ends is through financial or legal necessity. I had hoped the legal 'issues' in India were the start of the end but it seems not. So instead I'll just have to go back to hoping that their empire collapses and can no longer sustain the cost of this pointless project. 1 Quote
rovgers Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If we did get back to the Premier League, they can walk away and claim their tenure was a success, claim the Premier League money to pay off debts to them and then sell up in the belief that more people will be willing to buy a Premier League team. I don’t think the “legal “issues”” will make any difference to them owning us, at the moment it’s only a civil case and not a legal case. As far as their business collapsing, the VH group had an annual turnover last year over a billion pounds, so the money they put into “this pointless project” is insignificant in their company. Quote

The last quarter results showed the chicken business was losing money hand over fist Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The reported turnover of VH group is around 100 million not 1 billion, the main listed entity 'Venkys Ltd' which flashes around our stadium made a profit of around 6.5 million so the money needed for Rovers is hardly insignificant in yearly turnover terms. Although probably doesn't make a dent in the families overall wealth. Quote
Ghost7 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Is this thread not local newsworthy? Can it be covered in the telegraph? We need to get the word out to all generations about the current fan sentiment and the boycott so that all know it's happening. 1 Quote

We were planning some stuff and the Mrs said ‘but Rovers are at home?’ One, I hadn’t even checked the fixture list and two when I said ‘well, we’ll go that day anyway’, the fact we wouldn’t look to arrange it for other days had her shocked. Anybody that knows me would be amazed by that, Blackburn Rovers is part of my identity, like part of my family, certainly it’s how my actual family have always seen the club. I’ve prioritised it (or had it prioritised for me) since I was about six/seven years old. First it was knocking night games on the head, but I rationalised that in my head with ‘work, cold. Red button’. For 3pm’s? Well, I’d just rather be doing something else. A football club and your relationship to it is precious, something you can’t really quantify, the sense of pride, of belonging, that link to generations passed… and they’ve destroyed it. Exactly this, it really hits you when ‘but Rovers are at home?’ doesn't matter any more. Quote

Their wealth should be an asset, instead it's the problem, unlike other owners who were/are losing money, they don't need to sell. 1 Quote
