  1. Sounds a pretty fair assessment Izzitnot and I think Rovers fans are under no illusions as to what we are letting ourselves in for.
  2. Now that's just silly. I am not the only one to have said that.
  3. That is a very harsh resume on Ferguson's time here. I agree, he hasn't been the 7.5 million midfielder people might have been expecting but he hasn't been a total flop. In fact, he's improved with games and is now a crucial player for us. How many times have you sat and watched him for a full match? I actually quite liked him until someone pointed out a few things to me. 1. He does like to try and take control of situations - fair enough. However, if you watch when we get a free kick (and this happened virtually everytime against Charlton) he will strut over and grab the ball. He orders people where to move to, then passes the ball staright to the opposition. 2. I guess the main problem with point 1 - he can't pass! 3. I don't particuarly like his attitude to some players in the team. I might be reading this wrong, but he seems to have some Souness tendancies. All a pretty wooley argument I guess, but with every match I have seen him play this season I have disliked him more. If he could tackle and pass I wouldn't have a problem with him - until that happens he can go as far as i am concerned.
  4. Ferguson has shown me nothing to make me think he is worth holding on to. I thought he would dominate our midfield because that is what we need, but he has been, overall, very poor since coming back from his injury. I am very upset about the money that has been wasted on him, but we'd be better off without him. (btw, that doesn't mean I think Savage is a suitable alternative!)
  5. I think they genuinely hadn't realised about the cock up on some of the prices. I think they asked me to write just to get rid of me. I'd only told them 2 of the issues with the Cardiff tickets, I hadn't even got onto the problems with the Home Cup Tickets Scheme! I presume I have had to pay for 2 quite lenghty calls to the 08701 number. I am not going to write, I will make sure it is taken up at the Fans Forum. I have asked the chairman if he will invite Tom Finn to attend the meeting.
  6. Funny that....when I phoned the Ticket Office yesterday as Miriam hadn't got back to me as promised, they were very apologetic for not calling and said it was because they had been so busy with the tickets going on sale!! I don't think they had realsied that the Young Adult prices were more than full Adult STs in some areas. They said that Young Adult ST holders affected by this just need to make the staff aware of the issue when purchasing their tickets and they will be charged the same as the Adult price. I also mentioned why Lee had released details of ticket prices on the official site, but these prices had conseqently changed and, in some cases, ST holders were paying more than initially expected. They said that the ticket prices were a brief summary (I don't remember seeing it say that ). They said that I had done the right thing bringing these issues to their attention and asked if I would write to Customer Services and Tom Finn would relpy to me. I can't understand why the club can't just explain what has happened. I am sure Cardiff will not mind if the rules and procedures that have been followed are clearly stated. This whole fiasco will be bought up at the Fans Forum meeting (hopefully this Monday).
  7. I phoned the ticket office about that yesterday. I am still waiting for a reply from Miriam There are 4 area categories where Young Adult ST holders pay more than a full adult ST?!?!
  8. If you are so insistant that Cardiff made this decision then all the more reason to blame the BRFC management!! As I understand it, it is decision made between the two clubs involved. The most I presume they can charge is our average home price, i.e. £24. I am only guessing, but say we went to Cardiff and sent we want to price the tickets at £10, then they said, no. We would surely have some bargining with them between our offer and the full price. As originally announced, if the prices are £24, then we don't seem to have very good negotiators working on behalf of our club. Cardiff City alone do not set ticket prices at Ewood!
  9. stu, you don't seem to have noticed it could cost you more than an adult ST holder depending on which area you choose to sit!! What is going on?!?!?! Just waiting for a reply from the ticket office. We have reduced ST holders paying more than full ST holders in some areas! Smacks of set prices, then panic and try to sort it. The £24 quoted at first doesn't apply everywhere and you can actually pay more than that. I admit it is a very difficult situation for the club, but how do they expect people to trust them when they do a quick back-turn like this and confuse people with the prices and conditions.
  10. Didn't realise how much twaddle their fans spout until listening to the garbage they came up with on the phone-ins last night! The guy who thought that Brum were a bigger club than Leeds! And how he thought that Leeds saw yesterdays match as a big deal, but it was against a "mickey-mouse" team as far as Birmingham were concerned!!
  11. You have to remember that only 800 Rovers fans decided they wanted to pay £18 and travel to Cardiff. This is a replay of that match. I know the travelling is an issue, but if only 800 fans went in the first place I just can't see how you can charge anymore than that for the replay.
  12. Already done! Its hidden in the competition rules, basically the two clubs agree on the price. For a third round tie the gate receipts are divided 45% to each club and 10% to the pool. For a third round reply the figures are 42.5% per club, 10% to the FA and 5% to the pool. http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/TheFACup/New...02/08/20766.htm Its in there if anyone is as sad as I am. Thank you. I had a feeling the price was set by both clubs. I am sure that is the excuse we will get, but I still can't see how they have come to that decision. Good point Paul about PL prices. Why should the club expect anyone pay more to see Cardiff City than a PL club?! (I can only imagine what things would be like if we were in the same situation, but with Souness saying that we were only concentrating on the league!!)
  13. I've just had a quick look at the prices for the other replays. Most don't have details yet, but I'll keep an eye on them. The only match with pricing details released is Exeter v Man Utd. The Man Utd fans will be paying a massive £11! The Fulham fans seem a little concerned how much they will be paying, but the details haven't been confirmed. I'd be interested if anyone can find anything from the FA about the pricing for matches and how it is decided.
  14. I just could not believe this when I read it!! I don't have a season ticket because I am moving out of the area in a few weeks, but expect to come back for most of the matches. Like others have said, I was fully expecting to have to fork out about £10 for this match, and I probably would have paid upto about £15. £24 is an utter joke! Do the club want no one to come to Ewood?! I have never said this before, but at those prices it is very very unlikely that I will attend! I could easily get a ST and save a few quid, but £19 is still way too much. The club would be better off just having 2 stands open and save a bit on stewarding and turnstile operators, because there is going to be hardly anyone there. I hope JW is ready for the letters, emails and phone calls tomorrow!
  15. It was Ian Gwyn-Hughes doing the commentary. He isn't a BBC Wales commentator, he works for MOTD. I feel so sorry for him, he must have been bad in a previous life, because he ends up watching Rovers nearly every week! The MOTD coverage was poor - as usual. They didn't even bother saying who scored our goal! We weren't the last match on which makes a change. Can't work out why we had extended highlights of a match we'd seen already that day!!
  16. Thank you! I might send it as a question when he is featured in Ewood E-males in a future matchday programme!
  17. Just a small personal rant (and not entirely football related, but relavent to this thread)...... From the story in the LET last night and from this in The Press, it appears that Nelsen is playing for Rovers while on a working holiday visa. He is entitled to a working holiday visa because of the reciprocal agreement the UK has with NZ. Now admitedly the rules are due to change on 1st July 2005, but currently as a UK citizen if I was on a working holiday in NZ I would not be able to take up permanent employment on this visa type (18 month contract sounds fairly permanent). There are also restrictions on how long you can work for the same employer. Even when the rules change, a UK citizen will be able to stay in NZ for upto 2 years, but will only be able to work for a maximum of 12 months during that time. I understand that the visa is "broadly reciprocal", but it seems, as usual, the UK is a lot more lenient towards people entering this country. Rant over! (unless anyone knows anyway round the whole NZ immigration thing, or for that matter, knows if Nelsen is married!! He ain't a looker, but I'm desperate to get back there!! )
  18. Never played in the Premiership, but Chris Killen at Oldham is the only Kiwi I can think of currently playing in the English Leagues. He has cored quite a few goals this season.
  19. You'd have to sensor the whole of the goal for yesterday's incident though! If we had hawk-eye technology, like they use in the tennis, it wouldn't register because the ball was so far over the line!
  20. There is a good chance that happened. I think they can bring incidents to the attention of the ref, such as behaviour of managers/coaching staff, but I guess they weren't sure if they could tell him if the ball crossed the line. Having 4 linesmen has been mentioned, but with this particular incident that would not have helped. It wasn't human error on the part of the linesman either. His job is to keep in line with the last outfield player - which he did. When the ball is passed back to the keeper the linesmen don't run back with the ball. Yesterday was the same situation, the linesman was in the position he was supposed to be. I wonder if Fulham got a call from Fergie this morning?!
  21. How long did today's match seem to last?! Went to Oxford v Kiddiminster last week and that seemed to drag, but today was the longest match I've ever been to! At least it got a bit more interesting in the second half. Did Matteo have his Predator boots on the wrong feet today?! Overall quite happy with a battling performance and 3 points. Matteo does look suspect at LB and I thought Fergusson was very poor. He can't pass! And what was going on with our free kicks?! 7 points from the Christmas period - I'd have been more than happy with that before the games.
  22. There are more important issues for us to worry about at the minute, but yet again we were the last match on MOTD
