HIs temperament lets him down. He gets a red card today and he’s out of the team having just established himself again. He seems to be a slow learner. I never saw any point in mouthing off to the officials, you just turn them against you.

Come on man ffs. His teammate has just been two studded and the ref or linesman didn’t see it when everyone else did? Slow learner indeed

Like I posted earlier, I don't think he was ever physically 100% when Mowbray would fudge him into the side. You can't play at your best when your body isn't cooperating.

I watched a lot of JRC in his u21 days and along with Buckley was outstanding and can/ could play in any outfield position. Still don’t think he’s a RB long term (nor his favoured position) and with his skill set could certainly play as a  No10 at this level easily. I don’t think Mowbray ever utilised him correctly and did shoehorn him in at RB whenever he could find an excuse to do so. Fair play to him this season he’s been outstanding since he came back into the team playing at RB

The silence on here regarding him is deafening. He is horrendous. Happy to have been a pioneer on here in pointing it out even if I got alot of shit for it. A shame really but he isn't the answer and it's detrimental to the team to persist with him. Two new midfielders required. End of.

You don't half talk out your arse. Just on the way home from Bristol and believe me the lad Morton is utter dog shite and needs booting back to Liverpool pronto. He goes hiding when the team needs him leaving Buckley trying to do the work of 2. Mind, you don't watch football (aka Mercer)apart from TV so your skewed logic and ignorance is perhaps more understandable

Feels a bit similar to England, albeit at a much much much lower standard.
With 4 at the back instead of the 5 our midfield looks more compact and we control the game better. 5 at the back and shipping 4 goals, says it all.

I was lucky to have a good JW seat today and at times the middle of the park was deserted, Brereton on one touchline, Hedges pushing onto the other, Dack dropping deep as the only player who wanted the ball and absolutely nothing central. We need more midfield presence.

Well we had one sat on the bench all fkin match in Bucko but no this idiot persists with the missing Scouse teenager who hasn't been seen for the last 5 matches , Scmodics who is a shocking footballer at best and Travis whose confidence is shot and looks awful. How the hell is Morton a shoe in? He's not ready or able enough for the Champs. Neither is Garrett. A Wharton is being held back by Morton when it should be the opposite

Beckenbauer was absolute class a young midfield player. He moved back to sweeper to prolong his career quite early on. Back in the day DeStefano was brilliant, like DeBruyne only better. He never stopped running. Garrincha was another who could beat teams on his own.

George Best was absolutely awesome. Best footballer I have ever seen. Had this aura of greatness when you went to watch him live at Old Trafford. Only falls short on the world stage cos he was N Irish. He was a magician with the ball when he could be arsed! Always reminded of Best and Alex Higgins. Two mavericks of their sports who could put bums on seats!

If we are talking Rovers players then Damien duff. The guy can turn milk sour he was that good. Drop of the shoulder no defender could live with him

Yes he was probably the man of the tournament at Japan 2002 for me. Shame Eriksson preferred to take Keown who never played a minute over Matt Jansen who was a leading light at Rovers and in the Prem and would have had the ability to change matches

Some of us are old enough not to have to Google the 1970 Brazil team and you are making assumptions that Simon is doing that.
He may well be but do you know that for sure?
Anyway for an inclusion into your knowledge bank, the best World Cup team I’ve ever seen was Brazil in 1970

Totally agree. They were magnificent and just blew teams away (apart from England who imo were the best of the rest at that time)

You don't think a team with Pears Rankin-Costello, Edun, Vale, Buckley et al is any weaker than a team with Trav, Hyam, Gally, Morton, Kaminski etc etc?

    That is surprising.

No I said apart from defence there isn't much difference.  Midfield to front is minimal apart from BBD. Look who played tonight Dack, Vale  Buckley, Markanday  swap with Szmodics, Hedges, Gallagher, Travis. I think we've got good depth now

You drunk? Rugby union? Did I offend you? Does playing against West ham make professional footballers unable to control a football?

No you haven't offended me at all but I am in the stadium watching the game and we haven't surrendered as we do in the champs on away days. No Rovers player has been terrible or brilliant but we are playing a better team than either Wigan or Coventry and you have to take that into account. Vale may well flourish again now he's scored again and he deserves support rather than writing him off. You just seem to be either you love a player or hate him for whatever reason which is more rugby fan based

definately need a centre forward in january,if diaz is sold then hopefully the money is spent on a class one and not another hirst

Same as the other 23 in reality . Makes it more competitive than the so called Prem. Imagine being a supoorter of a club like Everton. No chance of winning anything or little chance of relegation  Wtf are you competing for? At least we have been relegated and promoted, won trophies since they did. Even getting relegated gives us some interest

Vale was poor when he came on - the most disappointing part is him barely getting out of a jog and failing to put them under any pressure. Can only assume that's been his tactical instructions?

But still, even the small bits of link up play was a lot more than Dolan offered today.

I do like Dolan, but his sole purpose today was to gift the ball back to Hudds, time and time again.

Strange how Vale seems to get worse press than Dolan.

On the flip side, previous boo-boy Pickering was very good today and has been very solid for a number of weeks now. Good to see.

Dolan will never a footballer. Yes he runs round a lot but he's shite
