We know, hence why he shouldn’t be playing for our u21s, or any u21 side in the country.
I think all centre forwards in the history of the game have missed more than they scored tbh. Its getting into the positions to score that matters. The rest takes care of itself if you are a natural finisher

Sorry my fault. Getting mixed up with per frandsen and per pederson lol 😆😆
Per frandsen was a player. Not too sure about per pederson tbh as he only played 11 games and looked pretty shit when he did get a game

You’re not listening matey. Kiddo signed Frandsen. You’re only 2 seasons out. He signed in Sept 1999.

Hignett scoref the odd goal for us but was mostly just another gobby scouser that liked to point
Per Frandsen signed for us in Sep 1997 so would have been Hodgson

So that's JRC out the club and Bucko can't get a game....who'd have thunk it...? 🤔
Is he out or is that just your wishful thinking? You are very quick to criticise academy players for some reason. As it happens I don't see what Morton brings to the table . He was shit today (again) . Buckley is a far better option

Buckley had better pull his finger out.. Still want a ball carrier and another enforcer in there though.
Prefer Travis at right back. Watched his debut at right back and was well impressed.
Yeah Buckley has been out of sorts so far this season. Hope he sorts it out as he is a talent no doubt.
Personally prefer Trav as a box to box midfielder which I think he's a natural at. Looks comfortable at rb though. All personal opinions so no right or wrong

He was always a natural box to box midfielder before Tony put the shackles on his game. The lad has so much energy. Hopefully he flourishes this season as he should have been doing for the last couple

I know the masses at Ewood generally aren't the hippest! musically, but bloody hell Sweet fkin Caroline has been done to death everywhere since Pete Kay brought it back from the dead probably nearly 20 years ago now! Surely they can dig out another tune that's not as naff and cliched that most will know the chorus to
I think you are getting mixed up with Tony Christies "Is this the way to Amarillo"!

Haven't given up on JRC yet either. Hope JDT can identify his best position and not shoehorn him as a RB as Mowbray did. Came into the squad with big hopes but injuries and Mowbray stifled him somewhat I think

JDT and his team have unlocked Travis' attacking potential.
He looked quite good going forward before Mowbray tried to turn him into just a midfield destroyer.
2 in 2 and both have been crackers.

I worked on my uncles farm at Stanhill which is near Knuzden. Never seen so many eggs or milk since them days. He must have had 100+ cows and 300 + chickens laying eggs. Took us hours for half a bob wage lol

He only had a cameo at Stoke and didnt play in the return game. He did start v Sheffield United when he wasnt stand out but did a decent enough job and kept his place for the following game at Bristol City where he was less effective and was dropped for the next game at home to Peterborough. We won 4 nil and coupled with a move to a formation with only 2 midfield slots we then went on a winning run so he cant justifably feel aggrieved at being taken out then.
His main downfall has been his terrible injury record which continiously prevented him from gaining momentum and ultimately when he did play he didnt make sure he couldnt be dropped.
I tried to find the quotes you mentioned but couldnt. But I very much doubt that the likes of Buckley are massive talkers, maybe he was wanting more authority from Davenport who when he did play often let games pass without really influencing them.
That's fair enough. Probs got wrong match but was away from home November where he was lauded on this MB. The bit about him being quiet was Mowbray in LT around March saying he couldn't see fire in his belly as he's a quiet lad. Funnily enough I am friends with an ex International cricketer from Glos who asked me last year why so much noise from Lancs League players when we went to watch. Sounds amateurish he said. That's cos it is I said!

Even in those 2 years he has had injuries, he missed the last few weeks this season I think with injuries. Has he ever really announced himself when he has played? This season no one in their right mind would have dropped Travis or Rothwell and he seems to get better and better by not playing.
I know its the easiest narrative to pin everything on Mowbray but not sure its the case here.
You could have actually dropped Rothwell quite easily after a couple of blinders as his next 5 or 6 would be indifferent bordering on shite. He didn't deserve his place in a starting 11 since the Bournemouth saga

Yes I think he did announce himself earlier this season away at Stoke I think when a lot on here saying he was by far our best midfielder but was then left out of the next match day squad altogether. If you're not allowed a run of games then how the heck is he supposed to make an impression? I just think Mowbray treated him harshly because he's not vocal enough for him which is a load of old bollocks. Why do you have to be a mouthy bastard to play any professional sport?

I think we shouldn't renew either of their contracts for next season.
I have been abit disappointed by Davenport not having a more of an impact in the 4 years but too many injuries. He needs to go somewhere and play regular football.
On Butterworth, he needs regular football at league 1 or 2 level cos he has talent but playing a few minutes won't help him. On Fleetwood spell he played out of position or on bench cos they only played 1 up front.
I think Davenport has been given the shitty end of the stick by Mowbray. OK his first 2 years were blighted by injury but since then he's come into the team, done OK and then dropped from the squad straight away thereby giving the lad no chance to make any impression. Mowbrays last excuse for discarding him was he's not mouthy enough or similar guff. I would be looking to fuck off from here if I was him too.

In fairness to Dack he also provided a glorious assist to Dolan
An assist and a goal in the minutes he’s played isn’t a bad return all in all but he does look a good way off fitness
Why have footballers regressed? Because of yer man Mowbray Plays our most creative midfielder as a false nine since fucking Christmas. The lad hasn't a fucking clue what he's supposed to be doing or why he's being tasked to do it. Its utter shite and Mowbray has outstayed his welcome and should fuck off tonight. But he won't will he.

This is exactly what I can't understand. Davenport must be wondering what he has to do. He must be abysmal in training!
Yes Davenport was by far and away our best midfielder earlier in the season at Stoke?. Called it on here that he would be the first out for some reason the next match. And oh yes he's hardly kicked a ball for us since. Was the obvious replacement tonight for Travis but no Gallagher has to be shoehorned in meaning Buckley not deployed where he has been excelling with the offshoot of Rothwell being so ineffective tonight. Why is he not getting game time (Davenport) when it's crying out for him? Beggars belief

FFS Mowbray haul Gallagher off and put Davenport in Travs spot you clown

10 hours ago, Mellor Rover said:From his reviews he seems different to Dolan. I think it's very much a case of keeping options open. If we sign him we could theoretically line up/change mid match to any of the following:
Diaz - Buckley - Khadra
Diaz - Dack - Khadra
Diaz - Buckley - Dolan
Diaz - Gallagher - Khadra
Diaz - Markanday - Dolan
(didn't realise how many permutations there were before starting this but you get the point)
We'd effectively have (once Dack is back) 7 players to fight for 3 places, not including Butterworth.
Add another central striker into that and all of a sudden we don't look anywhere near as bare as we did 2 weeks ago.
I'd like another central striker, Maja would be my wish of links we've seen so far. Far more pressing concern for me is that midfield 2 though. Travis was good but looks leggy, and Rothwell is our golden boy this season. Need one more to cover in there as Johnson's just a yard off it this season and Davenport is terrible.
That's rubbish saying Davenport is terrible. The lads not had enough minutes to make that sort of silly statement. Whenever he has had minutes he looks decent enough at Championship level and is only a young lad with room for growth. Just needs to keep injury free and get some matches under his belt then maybe we will see the real Davenport who was highly thought of at Citeh
