  1. No, I haven't read any of the books and know nothing of how the story unfolds in them, so my perception of the show is much more enjoyable and less biased the yours. and I meant there supposed to be pretty averagely written, R.R.Martin isn't exactly in the same league as J.R.R. Tolkien(but then who is I suppose)
  2. I've never read the books, but from what I've heard they're not really of a high literary standard, but they have made for a good rich source of material and blue print for an outstanding tv show. this was my situation and reaction as well, gobsmacked. I'd personally still put breaking bad slightly ahead of it as the best show on tv(ever-ish!) as its a truly original show that shocks and surprises on a weekly basis and the dialogue is also of a much higher standard than that of thrones, but then you also have mad men and homeland(+ a few others) that both also great, so I guess it just has to come down to personal preference.
  3. Just watched the 1st episode of The Vikings(a new lovefilm instant exclusive show), Really promising, high quality show, its kind of a mix of Spartacus/game of thrones but About Vikings, its quite historically accurate(from what I gather) and I'm also really liking Banshee, a pretty original show, some really brutal fight scenes(and borderline pornographic sex scenes, though they are relevant to the story!)
  4. they all seem to have at least halve a dozen staff behind the counter as well, no way there making their money from selling cheap pizzas and kebabs!
  5. NONE of our wingers/wide players can(or even attempt to) cross the ball(which is a bit of a flaw if your going to play out wide)
  6. I think he's done ok considering he is our 3rd choice keeper(and personally id have him ahead of Robinson regardless)
  7. The Ref and linesman made a few real odd school boy errors in the 1st half and spent the 2nd half seemingly trying to balance things out and make up for them by letting a few things go un-punished.
  8. Completely forgot supposed wonderkid Zaha was playing today he was kept that quiet.
  9. Todays starting 11 was definitely a team to build on(minus Nuno and maybe a couple more), our dodgiest area seemed to be ariel defending, they had at least 4 clear opportunities to score from headers(luckily today they missed the target!), all our players seemed well motivated and organised. Bowyer definitely the man for the job(Unless a very good and well respected experienced manager is brought in)
  10. I feel we will do ok tonight, 3pts, so put your money on a 3-0 Millwall win as I'm rarely right.
  11. Gareth(Mackenzie crook) from the office(uk) is in season 3
  12. Just seeing adults riding bikes makes me a little depressed, they just look so miserable and pain ridden, hats of to ya(but no thanks!)
  13. I watched Uk film 'Sightseers' last night, serial killer/horror/drama/romance/comedy(in its blackest form) really good well made low budget film from Ben Wheatley(kill list), its about a new couple that go on a campervan trip around the Yorkshire countryside.....stuff happens along the way....!
  14. Surely there's not actually enough horse meat around for it to become a staple meat source in this country to really rival beef/pork(not without tge price eventually increasing to match beef/pork,etc..)
  15. Anybody going too see 'Cast' at King Georges Hall this friday? One of the better(and more credible) 'britpop' bands, had a rep as being a great live band, though i never got the chance to see them at the time.
  16. I like to make my own burgers sometimes, i usually just buy the cheapest pack of beef mince in asda(under £2), give the meat a real good pounding(hmmhmm!) fill it out with some breadcrums and ingreidients of your preferance(il like thinly sliced hot chillis and little cubes cheddar), an egg white to hold it together and seaoning(salt, pepper+ il like smoked paprika). also sometimes like too use the cheap Beef/pork mixed minced meat asda sell(about£1.50 a pack i think), i wouldnt bother buying good qulity lean minced meat, i find its to chewy for burgers(you need that fat to keep it juicy and tender) and i imagine if you make a batch you can put them in the freezer for a month or so.
  17. Are you kidding!!!(outrageous comment ) Yes Pulp Fiction was a Truly 'great' film thats above anything else hes done(and better than most modern directors will ever do), but still all his films have been at least 3star(out of 5) movies other than death proof(and even thats more entertaining than most films. p.s. i went too see Django and it is his best most solid, mature(ish!) movie since Jackie Brown(two very different kinds of films though!) and if you don't at least find django fun as a good entertaining popcorn movie, then id be worried for you
  18. Only recently joined netflix, suprised at the amount of great content they have(especially tv shows), Im probably watching a lot more on netflix now than on cruddy old sky&freeview. Currently addicted too Sons of anarchy on netflix(After getting through all of the pish funny californication)seriously great show once you get past the cheesy 1st season.
  19. yea, tbf horse meatt must taste pretty reasonable for it too be so easily mistaken for beef(all be it processed to within an inch of its life!)
  20. That picture could have been taken at anytime by anybody . Just kidding
  21. sorry, but that is god awful vegan'hempenthusiast'bate, even the dog ran away half way through.
  22. I'd imagine they'd get mobbed(in a good way) in a regular Liverpool restaurant(or bad way in a Manchester one!), but saying that it does seem a little far fetched(but not unbelievable).
  23. Your time in the big old land of Oz is making you forget how small northwest england actually is.
