Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coachbooth replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard No doubt who the real villains are but VI didn't need to play those players today. Didn't need to replace Ribeiro who has been decent so far. Didn't need to move Hickman, who up to that point wasn't doing too badly in the middle and was good against Ipswich. The place that needed a shake up was up front if anything as we've been pretty woeful in the final third. Today his subs and shape changes turned a mediocre performance into a very poor one.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Only 23 but so far his career has been underwhelming. Agents must see Rovers as manna from heaven. 2021 Leicester City 2 (0) 2021–2024 Porto B 38 (0) 2023 → Colorado Rapids (loan) 5 (0) 2024–2025 Moreirense 29 (1) Tavares is a product of the Leicester City academy, which he joined in 2010 at the age of 9 from local grassroots club Carib SSFC and signed his first professional contract in 2019.[5] He made his debut in the UEFA Europa League as an 80th-minute substitute during a 2–0 defeat against Slavia Prague on 25 February 2021.[6] The following week, on 3 March 2021, he made his first Premier League appearance as a 77th-minute substitute during a 1–1 draw against Burnley.[7] Tavares made his first Premier League start against Brighton on 6 March 2021. In that match, he produced an on-target volley from the edge of the box, only to see it saved by opposing goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.[8] In 2021 Tavares signed for Porto B where he made sporadic appearances. In 2023 he joined Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids on loan until the end of June 2024.[9] In the summer of 2024 Tavares moved to Portuguese top flight side Moriense for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut on 11 August 2024 against Farense, receiving two yellow cards and therefore being sent off in the second half. He scored his first goal against Estrela Amadora in a 1–1 draw after coming off the bench, scoring in the 78th minute.[citation needed] On 20 June 2025, Tavares joined EFL Championship side Blackburn Rovers on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.[10]

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Yes, did VI stick him at full back? If the answer is yes, you sir need a hobby.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I'm not blaming Toth, I'm saying they'll sell him and replace him with the goalkeeping equivalent of Kargbo. Second goal is on Tavares. Bringing Tavares on was waving the white flag to Charlton.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We're transitioning to League 1. I dread to think what kind of players we are going to replace Tronstad, Toth and Wharton with in January/next season.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I mean, you've answered this question in your snarky response, did he or did he not stick him at full back as I said in my original post? Combined with the introduction of the awful Tavares it completely derailed any chances of us getting anything from the game.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Because he's not done his homework.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Gardner-Hickman looked good against Ipswich in the middle. VI thinks, hey I know let's stick him at fullback. We pretty much played that game without fullbacks.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coachbooth replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I think today we saw what his previous club fans were saying. The guy can turn a poor performance into a worse one with his 60th minute subs. I think every Rovers fan groaned when they saw Pickering on the team sheet. Then on comes Tavares and Kargbo...

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Did you just watch that? The lack of quality combined with the manager shitting the bed is very worrying.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We'll be lucky to be third best when we're in L1 next season with this squad. I can only hope that when the inevitable happens it's fuck off to Rudy remarks and Suhail the fail.

v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Ismael on the touchline wishing he'd never gone public by saying he was happy with our transfer window.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I don't think you can judge him from this. He came on when Ismael completely fucked up the team already had too many passengers.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard So far this season we've played more bad than good. There are too many weak links and not enough goals to make up for it. Let's face it they took apart the team and cobbled another one together very cheaply.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Tavares's play is STILL causing US problems. He receives the ball, he kicks the ball, he loses the ball. Gestede has managed to find a player worse than Keith Andrews.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard What happens when you sell your best and employ a loser like Gestede to bring in cheap replacements.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Thank Christ, I can stop watching this Rudy Gestate/Sufail Snake bullshit hoping for some kind of resurrection. We're down this season, I should probably just make peace with it.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Because Gestede is a c*nt.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Does Ismael have eyes? Taveres has been shit in almost every game so far and VI's master plan is to bring him on when we need a goal.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Pickering shite all game and he's still on the pitch. He strikes fear into his fellow defenders.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Barring a miracle this game is done. I've just seen Miller get the ball when under pressure, take a touch and fucking lose it then get a yellow card and give a free kick away. Fuck off Suhail, fuck off Gestede. Fucking chancers.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Kargbo, chance to clear it, takes a touch and loses it.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Played well against Ipswich but have shown nothing today. Ismael hasn't helped with team selection and subs.
-
v Charlton Athletic (a) - 27/9/25booth replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Kargbo, ffs. Can't cross the ball, can't pass the ball, can't tackle yet always appears on the 60th minute. Without fail.
