The bizarre lack of bringing in good strikers continues even though goalscorers have previously brought in a ton of cash, and could have brought in more if Pasha did his job effectively. A bad start to the season but fully expected. I don't blame Ismael. Gestede, Pasha and the owners (especially) are the problem.

Check my post history, I liked him in his first few months here but then he seemed to decline. He was obviously much better last year as his forward play was excellent but I still found him frustrating when it came to defending. I don't think we'll miss his as defending but we're going to miss him going forward.

I wasn't a fan of Brittain as I've always thought he's a poor defender but half-decent going forward. Last season he excelled in that respect along with his workrate so it will be disappointing for yet another player to leave after a good season. The bigger problem is that we'll likely replace him with someone cheap who is poor at defending and going forward.

With Carter and Hyam at the back we could be in for a repeat of the 23/24 season minus Sammie Szmodics.

Both players are on their last legs and I'd be disappointed if I was a Derby fan, but I'd rather them doing a job for us as squad players than them. Baath is the one we'll miss the most but Weimann chipped in with some goals that won't be replaced. The likely replacements won't be very good and that's the main issue.

I was told by a family member of a first teamer that he massively wrecked the morale of the first team during the second half of JDT's first season, when he let it be known he was releasing anyone on big money and selling anyone worth anything. Whether it was true or not that Waggott was to blame I don't know but everything they said came true. They also said he was trying to sell Adam Wharton to Newcastle for a shockingly low amount but Wharton wouldn't go.

He was so far away from being a genuine football administrator but it's such a low bar at this club after Derek Shaw and co. I'll always see him as another chancer who took everything he could out and put very little back in. I'll also always see him as the reason JDT's first season was derailed along with Adam Wharton leaving. And he'd have left a lot cheaper if the kid hadn't dug his heels in, it wasn't Waggott holding out for more money.
