  1. brad to get my vote with flowers a close second, roger jones did a great job for us,as did gennoe but neither had outstanding careers in the top flight and were not in the same class as brad and tim.
  2. 1 arsenal 2 chelsea 3 man u 4 liverpool 5 villa 6 newcastle 7 boro 8 brum 9 charlton 10 rovers 11 spuds 12 fulham 13 southampton 14 portsmouth 15 bolton 16 man city 17 norwich 18 everton 19 west brom 20 palace in the fa cup newcastle to get more than there share of dodgy decisions as pundits/journo's up and down the country go on about robson and shearer's last season and wouldn't it be a fairy story, magic of the cup blah blah blah. only for there day at cardiff to be spoilt by us!
  3. 4-1 to the rovers followed by a flood of posts suggesting we will be top of the league by the end of the month
  4. when i woke up this morning my head was still in conspiracy mode but having had time to reflect we didn't do enough to win,for most of the second half the general feeling in the pub was it was only a matter of time before we conceded a goal.while the ref did appear to lean towards portugal it was no more than one would get from a ref if we where at home. on the disallowed goal there was an english referee on the radio this morning and he was putting forward the point that having seen the tape the referee had blown for a foul by campbell before the ball went in.as pointed out in an earlier post the free kick was dodgy to start with and campbell used his own player to gain height which is a foul anyway. fair play to portugal they were the better side on the night.allegencies are now swopped to sweden as i have larrson at 40-1 for top scorer
  5. we need experienced cover up front and dickov fits the bill, price wise its as good as we can afford and leaves us able to spend more on covering more essential gaps with the rest of the transfer budget.
  6. i am pretty sure fowler is on more money than cole so hopefully it is wild speculation in the daily telegraph. fowler great player once and we were supposed to be after him before leeds jumped in and we went for cole instead, as it turned out we got the better deal.
  7. jimmy hill has always displayed an ability to open his mouth before engaging his brain, remember when he blamed one of our ball girls for costing us a goal in the cup against liverpool [ when super atko scored the o g ] he publicly slaughtered her in front of the MOD audience for throwing the ball in too quickly
  8. So it's OK to call someone a nigger then. I'm glad we sorted that one out. So what Ron should say is "Marcel. I now realise (after reading the Rovers board) that it is obviously deeply insulting to refer to you and millions of others like you as nigger / black / negro / coloured and that the mere mention of your skin colour is deeply embarrassing for you and constitutes some kind of offence in our enlightened society. I am old and was brought up in different times. I remember the time when people were rightly proud of their ethnic origins but I guess its not like that anymore is it? I realise that I have offended you through my inappropriate choice of words, but for the life of me I cannot really understand why. Unless the reason is how absolutely awful being your colour must be and how you and all others must all wish that you could change and be as white as Michael Jackson. So once again, sorry mate you really do have my profound sympathy and I shall promise never ever to mention your embarrassing skin colour ever again." There is that better Jim? Cos imo thats how ridiculous and tiresome this entire issue has become! what point are you making thenenrog, that we are not free too use racial insults? why should ron apologise for using the words / black / negro / coloured ,they are not offensive and he didn't use them anyway. whether or not the quote in the mirror is accurate i don't know but if you look on the skysorts site desailly says he feels sorry for ron and accepts it was a mistake.
  9. Rumour has it he kicked the ###### out of Phil Brown at a club function when Brown informed him that he was only getting a game for Bolton because his dad was the manager. I now for the life of me cant remember who his dad was? One of those 'know it, but cant remember it' situations. colin todd ex bolton manager, when he got the sack todd jnr followed him in a bit of a huff
  10. kilby must be off his head, ternant has worked wonders to keep them in the 1st and has taken pay cuts in the past to help the financial situation, he is burnley through and through. it could go bad for them next season and i just hope kilby gets his comeuppence and i get a good price at ladbrokes on them taking a drop.
  11. i just cannot see where the next point is going to come from ,plenty of huff and puff but with the exception of emerton no guile.the betting man should get to betfair now.the other teams at the bottom have been playing with their backs to the wall all season and appear to more adept at bouncing back from bad results. as for souness i thought he would stay but in the interview with him that went out on rovervision prematch did not bode well he appeared to lack belief himself, not in words but in his demeanor
  12. souness won't walk away before the end of the season, there is no one within the club who could plausably take over anyway. are the board capable of sacking him? probably not. have they considered a replacement? probably not. its too late for any change of personel. if we go down then hopefully he will fall on his sword if we stay up i would be in two minds about it.it would all depend on how well he did in the transfer market but i wouldn't be too surprised if he chucks it in.the strain of having to manage todays multi-millionaires is probably getting to him.there are no sticks big enough to balance out the 24ct. gold carrots so managing them seems to be becoming increasingly frustrating for souey hence the continued public spats
  13. I've a good idea of what is being played down at Brockhall (Allegedly) Gillespie- Go your own way (Fleetwood Mac) Duffers-1 Irish Rover (Van Morrison) Friedel- American Dream (Neil Young) Flitty- I fought the law and the law won (Clash) And maybe in a year's time this is what i reckon Dunny will be singing : Stupid Mistake (Gareth Gates)
