I'm happy to do the honours on this one. Ferguson in Scotland was more of a box to box midfielder in the Sherwood mould. Late runs into the box etc. He's way too energetic and full of running to be the player you describe. -

I'd say the same thing about Cole the last 2 seasons. I'd probably agree with you. Not to the same extent as Emerton, but sure, you have a point. Yet again, the reason I single Emerton out is because I dont think anyone underperformed as much. Other players played badly, but thats just because they arent all that good at football. Blame for that one lies with Souness, the coaches and the scouts. The Emerton thing cant be blamed on them - they infact bought a very talented player at a very cheap price. He just hasnt done the business. -

Thats absolute nonsense Dave. You clearly have only been half reading my posts about Emerton. I certainly dont consider him a scapegoat. If you could find me a post where I've blamed Emerton for a defeat then I'd be very surprised. For the umpteenth time, I will clarify - Emerton gets criticism for me due to the performance to talent ratio that he has. He is exceptionally talented, we can all see that. Yet players in this team, and in many other teams with only a tenth of his natural ability consistently out perform him. I will continue to be hard on him until I feel that he is performing somewhere close to what he is undoubtedly capable of. To say that I use him as a scapegoat is ridiculous. -

My man in the stands also seems to be of the impression that Dwight Yorke has been our best player......... -

I cant get Radio Rovers to work, but I'm informed that Lucas Neill has just curled home a screamer from 25 yards. -
Shocking, thats a hell of a tune.

If he's doing a good job there then why the hell is it a problem? As an aside, Neil Yardley just said "And it's Emerton, one on one with his man, he comes inside, ball onto his left foot and he turns away......" Glad to hear an improvement -
78, Nothing personal, but you have just hit the nail on the head as to why I am so cheesed off with Sky and The Premiership sponsored by Coca F*****g Cola or whoever is moving these (stop swearing) games around. I have a life to live and I would like to co-ordinate it with doing my 60 mile round trip to see Rovers. Maybe the 60 mile round trip counts for nothing. As someone once said, the reason a lot of people go to see football is because a lot of people go to football. What else would attract 20,000 people once a fortnight to an event in Blackburn/Norwich/Derby. Big businesses are sucking the life-blood out of football. Is any one naive enough to beleive that big corporations are not trying to make a few million bucks out of football? If they didn't make money out of it they wouldn't do it. "This is the "McDonalds Cup" semi final between Blackburn and Burnley and there is a poor crowd tonight of about 4,000 people huddled together ." The lucky ones are watching it home & dry in the pub and buying burgers and sweety drinks and kentucky fried rat and some (stop swearing again) bloody toilet cleaner or bog roll. I've seen the first ten fixtures and at least five of them are major headaches for the Colin family in arranging who looks after the child, the cat, and everything else. So sod me, sod you, buy the rat burger, buy ten spoonfuls of sugar in every can and have a nice day this goal was sponsored by Ocean Finance, the next goal will be sponsored by some other opportunist capitalist arse-wipe who just wants to make some money. "Hello, I'm doing a series of interviews on behalf of the Premier League; EUFA; whatever the English league is called now; and FIFA" "OK, happy to oblige." GIVE ME YOUR CREDIT CARD, YOUR WALLET AND YOUR CHEQUE BOOK Hey Guys, not bad for 2:30 in the morning Times the 60 miles by 6 and you've written exactly what I was thinking. Well said.

None of which are proven in the Premiership, whereas Djorkaeff is. We need to learn our lesson from last season and not draft in so many players without Premiership experience - in my opinion thats what really hurt us in the early part of last year.
-
Really?? I certainly wouldnt say no, would be perfect to tide us over for a year while we assess Gally, Jansen and Stead and see in which direction we want to head.
-
Paul is blatantly his best mate.

I'm gettin really cheesed off with this.

Unbelievable! Do you actually read anything anyone else says? Where is Freddy Adu?? -
If we were to sign him the need to hide him will have gone........
-
At one point last season one of them didnt even realise that you actually had to put the "glasses" underneath the taps for them to be filled up, she preferred to just fill up the holders. She also decided to just grin at us and ignore us when we tried to point out she was wasting the beer. Just goes to show the high intelligence levels of the staff employed down at Ewood park.

For an example as to why Martin Taylor didnt make it at Rovers, look no further than the reverse fixture with Man City last season. Diabolical. -
Precisely. Which brings us full circle and both against the diamond. Which was my point in the first place. Although I could quite easily pick you up on the thing about Flitcroft going forward........
-
Barry Ferguson has way too much to his game to be purely a "holding player". The simple fact is, we dont have to choose. It doesnt always have to be the same player that gets forward and the same that stays back. We need to play a very simple 4-4-2 just like every other team thats ever been successful in this country. Flat midfield 4, thats all we need. No fancy diamonds, no specified holding players, no libero's, no 5 man midfields.
