He isn't exactly inexperienced Heffernan. He was trying to get a corner off the Arsenal man, which went horribly wrong and cost his team a place in the semi's. The main thing i would point to is that one of the defenders could have accidently pushed eboue or taken him down on the wing to stop him running all the way. From what i heard doncaster were all over arsenal for most of the game and if they hadn't scored so early in ET they may well have gone on to win it. IMO we should use this option as he is on top form for stoke and if he going to have the confidence and skills to do something at the top level this is it. After seeing the incident on sky, i would think he deserved a red for it in a normal match situation, regardless of last man etc. The only factor that saved him was the "foul" by dickov. But i'm not complaining 3 points are 3 points. 100% a pen, he stuck his arm out and can have no complaints. How can you be sent off for ball to hand? Todd had no chance of getting his hand out of the way, it looks bad on the super slow motion but in real time it's just his body motion. Todd's sending off sounds another big mistake by a ref having a shocking game as normal against rovers.
