I would agree with that, but i don't think a pompey win is any more likely than it was before the transfer window opened. Pompey need to get there new signings up to speed quickly so they can beat brum and then basically put them on the verge of going down. As Harry found out yesterday, you can't just spend money on better players and expect them to fit in straight away. Come on the pompey!

While he is not playing against us applaud all you want but for all intensive purposes he is a bolton boy now and so should be hated for the 90mins! As SouthAussieRover says he's finished anyway, problem is he has a habit of getting the odd important goal.

He was very good, for the first time in a while though. Personally i would prefer nelsen to be made captain, just for his constant superb displays. I'd also say that the goal was just one of those goals, great run by saha but if anything todd could have stopped backtracking and played him offside. Got no complaints with todd as captain just think that nelsen would be better for the team. My preferred defensive 2 would be zurab and nelsen but i did agree with hughes that it was right to play todd last night. I wouldn't have 100% confidence with zurab against the skill and pace of rooney, just for the experiance factor.

Couldn't agree more with the Smith challange being a straight red. Nothing but pure anger and hatred in that challange. I thought first out and after the first couple of replays that rooney thrust his elbow at sav's face, then from the other angle it seemed as if it may have been smith's fault for taking him out aswell. Problem is The FA can't now take any action against smith as the red saw the incident (who the made up that y rule). I assume they could take action against rooney....sorry that almost sounded sensible then, but an england player getting charged by The FA........ we live in hope!

Thats correct, i thought he had given the card to kuqi at the time though. Not the best performance, felt we dropped too deep too often. Bellers and kuqi worked ok in the first half and didn't work at all in the second. Bentley did ok, but i'd rather have emmo with what he offers defensively and in partnership with neill against manyoo. Can't complain with 1-1, can complain with Savage still not being able to miss the keeper even from 5 yards! Bring on the Bolton!!!

Fantastic read and well constructed BRISA is doing us proud. one of the best suggestions from my point of view would be the idea of the swipe card that allowed you to go in on the day and it automatically charge your account. Rather than ringing up booking and then getting there eariler than need be, therefore cutting valuable drinking time. As said it would encourage me to go up on the spur of the moment rather than planning which games i go and see at ewood.

There have been big names on the world scene being linked with the job. I would hate to lose hughes, but i can't see how Bruce's lack of managerial skills make Hughes a bigger target, when there are other bigger names out there! and if all else fails they could always go for souness!

Agreed totally, for all the good he did us, he did as much bad. Awful signings matched by good. Getting us up and almost certainly sending us back down. The league cup stands as his main achievement I'm thankful he left when he did, i'm even more thankful for newcastle paying us for his services as he would have been sacked soon after. Somehow i doubt anyone will take him off there hands now! If it wasn't for hughes securing up our rubbish defense we would have gone down and as souness has proved he can't sign good/decent defenders and make them play well. It's for the next manager to make them play well. I doubt he'll be in charge when we play them, but if he is it'd be very good to get him sacked!
