Jansen: English Tugay: Turkish Anybody who's english and does ok gets loads of praise, but yet someone like tugay who gives so much at a high level for so long has such praise reserved and is never really fully appreciated. I'm dissapointed in hughes' judgement if he gave Jansen a contract with a high weekly wage, rather than the pay as you play deal touted!

You should have been looking at brad and not this non goalkeeper person you like so much The wall is designed to protect half the goal and it failed in its job to do that mainly due to bentley but also in part to savage. If brad had been stood in the middle it would have given taylor a much easier task to find the otherside of the goal with greater power, whilst also blocking brad's view of the ball. It's swings and roundabouts from that distance as to if you trust your wall to do its job. As theno said MGP's was a worse hit free kick and westerveld got about as close as brad did. Whilst brad isn't as fast over 5 yards as he used to be his reaction work is still as good as ever. Hughes needs to do more defending for set pieces in training, including whacking a ball at bentley over and over again!

That line just about sums it up! First half we won easily and were very unlucky to give away that free kick. The change at half time in some players input to the game was amazing, similar to past weeks where we have done nothing first half and then suddenly played well and scored 2 or 3 second half. Reid was probally our best player first half and then equal worst second. Matteo looked lost and isn't a patch on gray on current form. Bentley, while i was shouting my head off at him and getting so annoyed, he did do an ok job when it was needed. (prefer Emmo in that role). There is no way brad should have saved the free kick, if you watch the wall bentley decided it would be a good idea to go for a walk as taylor kicked it, hense creating a nice gap for him to put the ball on the "guarded" side of the goal. 8th place on 2nd Jan, extremely happy with that! Tugay was very lucky but got away with it and it didn't affect his game at all. However matt didn't get any luck and he almost died and as such could and probally should have been dismissed. But the club held faith with him (all credit to us for that) and he has scored some crutcial goals for us. However there is no doubting it's matt jansen 1-0 rovers and now its full time. Jansen can go off and try and do something with his career and rovers do not have to sack him or let his contract run out. It's a win win situation. Jansen was very stupid and it's cost him a potential career with england.

matteo is the only change to starting 11, good to see dickov and kuqi kept together but i can't imagine Bellers will be over the moon at staying on the bench.

Jansen last season played 8 scored 2 Dickov played 35 scored 10 Dickov has the better ratio and is much better value for money. I very much appreciate what matty has done for us, in getting us to the premiership but I’d rather that he did nothing and got paid for it at another club as it is now obvious he has very little to offer us. Thanks for the service Matty J, hope you do well in the lower leagues (unless pompey or brum want you). Best decision for him as the club would have kept him on pay as you play for aslong as they could have. Now Hughes has a spare place in the squad, so it's either a youth, Galli or a new body in!

I have got a very bad feeling about this, if it were us and manyoo or arsenal i'd feel happier but both of us are not loved by the footballing press/fa already. I think whatever explanation we offer we'll be done over by a FA who need to learn from mistakes and make the derby fixtures over xmas to avoid large disappointment.
