  1. Emerton left Ewood hobbling badly, last night, so must be a doubt. As much as some will cheer, we need to steer clear of any long term injuries. I expect Reid will come in, if Emo doesn't make it. The last few games when reid has come on, we have looked far more threatening.
  2. We too had injuries and suspensions, but that's not an excuse. The truth is longsider, that we don't have any quality up front. The previous managers' decision to give our best striker away is costing us this season. There is cash in the bank to sort something out in the summer. though. As for why couldn't we deal more easily with seeing off Burnley, well it wasn't as though you ever looked like scoring, never mind winning. So although we played poorly, I wouldn't say we were ever threatened. That's where I think your manager got it wrong. You might have only one striker fit, but that shouldn't stop you from being a bit more positive. You still had 11 players out there, you should have pushed more of them forward in support of the front man.
  3. Jordan - was it your 21st birthday advertised on the big screen last night?
  4. Fair enough about building from the back, but that amounts, in Burnleys case, to putting ten men behind the ball at all times. If you're going to have a realistic chance of beating a Premiership club in the cup, then you're going to have to score goals. Do you only have one striker? I don't know. To me, you didn't ever, REALLY have a go at us. You might look back and regret that.
  5. It's certainly not in the prem. Agree with you Jim, modern day strikers have control, blistering pace, strength. Gally wont make it in the prem, IMO.
  6. I've got to say, watching the Riverside bouncing and rocking, from the JW upper was fantastic. It's a long time since I've seen that!
  7. A serious question for Longsider, or any Burnley fan: Once you've got over the fact that you didn't get hammered again [and I think that's where the pride bit comes in], why, oh why, didn't you have a real go at us? We are a poor side at the moment and this was the best chance you have had for what - 40 years? and all you do is approach both games with such a negative formation. At the Turf and down at Ewood, you didn't create one decent scoring chance. [apart from the speculative shot that you scored from]. I can understand that approach in the league, where you are fighting for your survival, but in the F.A.cup? Was it because you feared a hiding, or your menager is just a negative manager, or because you aren't good enough to pose a threat to anyone. Like I said, it's a serious question. You should have had a go! and you didn't.
  8. Burnley did OK - no more than that. In two games they have had two shots. For ninety minutes they keep ten men behind the ball and it makes it very difficult. As a threat though, they don't exist. Watch the highlights and see how many real chances they created. I can understand you all being happy by their performance, they didn't get the expected roll over. Don't get carried away though. If you had come with a positive attitude and tried to get men forward, you may have reaped some rewards.
  9. 115 coaches leaving turf moor right now.
  10. Tonights attendance - 28700. LET
  11. Not so much singing, more a low drone of grumbling and snoring, kind of mixed up. If you seriously want a song, me and rev will start you off.
  12. For god's sake, stop talking about penalties. You're making me nervous. I'd been OK up 'til now.
  13. Paul, I said in a post yesterday, that Radio Lancs said the attendance will be restricted to 29000, because of safety measures.
  14. What was the gate, last time we played them? At Ewood.
  15. Nelsen can't replace Todd, he plays alongside him. Short hasn't played since before Xmas and Mokoena isn't much use. Worry again, Jan.
  16. Dickov and Matteo doubtful, while Todd is suspended. Rovers official site That's a blow Todd being suspended. I thought he would miss the Everton game. Amoruso?
  17. You saw my post a few minutes earlier, Dan?
  18. D-Day for Dickov. Lancs Evening Telegraph
  19. Rovers expect to sell all remaining tickets before this evening. Attendance restricted to 29000 because of safety measures. - Radio Lancs.
  20. If you want to post on here, as quite a few Burnley fans have done, then please don't use textspeak - and try to make some kind of point.
  21. You're tempting fate you lot - pack it in.
  22. Yesterday morning we had sold 13000 tickets. By all accounts yesterday was very quiet, so maybe we didn't reach the 17000 mark. Another couple of days of poor sales and we might struggle to reach the 20000 mark.
  23. Good post Tris. The thing is Rovers are in a customer satisfaction business. 1/1.5 hr queues or 90 minute phone bills are avoidable. There are ways to improve the service and just saying "that's the way it is, so what?" really isn't the way to go. I've said a few times the situation is unacceptable - that sounds like it's moaning, it's not. A proper business will look at the problems and deal with them. It's not for the customers to "deal with the problems". What that means in essence, is that waiting times both in a queue outside the ticket office or on the end of a phone line, must be reduced to a reasonable level.
  24. 17000 sold by the end of today, with 5000 to go over Sat, Sun and all day Monday. They seem to be shifting 5000 a day, so all should be well. Unless, of course, some gave up and wont come back.
