  1. The Riverside must be the most populated Stand for the last 5 years.

Surely some 20% of the upper seats will find their view blocked when looking towards the goals in each half?

Could be a riot on Saturday...flat caps and flasks.

I've literally bought a new flask for my bovril for the coming season, quite liking forward to using it too. I'm in my 20's! Maybe it's a Riverside thing?

  2. Letter appeared on twitter, sent to a Riverside season ticket holder arrived today, saying there may be problems with the views because of the new TV gantry, looks like the operation to shut the Riverside next season is under way

Third paragraph: "However, our most important concern is the loyal fans in the stadium."

When is that sentiment ever applied?

  3. Just watched the Crawford Postol fight, it was a decent scrap, I predicted a decision win for Crawford though not by that margin. Only really became aware of him since the Ricky Burns fight, the guy is technically great. There's talk of a bout with Pacquiao next, though hopefully Burns will get another crack at him in the future to try and unify the division.

  4. Half way through Ash vs Evil Dead at the moment, as a fan of the film series I'm loving the TV show. It's kept the same comedy style as the films which Bruce Campbell naturally performs superbly (as he always does), yet still rather gruesome. The makeup on the deadites are cracking too.

  5. Ha, she's not a fan sadly :(

In any case, I've got a few other gigs coming up to whet the appetite!

Kendal Calling at the end of this month, The Enemy in September in Liverpool, then The Maytals in Manchester the following night. UB40 at KGH in October as well!

Would have loved to be going to the UB40 gig but can't with the newborn unfortunately! However if it was 'Ali Campbell's UB40' then that might just have sealed it!

  6. I don't. He has been stymied by promoters and avoided by fighters for a long time now. I think he will handle Kovalev's power and win relatively comfortably. Few made Froch look pedestrian, but Ward beat him without leaving 2nd gear. Rate Kovalev however and he could be as much as 20 pounds heavier come fight night.

Neither do I in all honesty, I was being facetious. Ward is an extremely effective boxer for sure with a great chance of winninng. General interest in the USA for Ward's fights waned a bit, though like you say he's had his fair share of promotional squabbles. Hopefully Jay Z can serve him better.

Froch was great but was never going to beat a man of Ward's talents.

  7. Looks like Andre Ward v Kovalev has been made for the Autumn. That's a really interesting one, will Wards spoiling tactics and slick counter punching be enough to outpoint Krusher ? Will he find some power at his new weight and will he take the shots he's bound to get caught with ?

I sense a Ward 'injury' coming on.

  8. Rap and hip hop these days is generally utter she height. When Drake is the biggest name out there then you know there is problems. There's been a surge in that weird hipster rap like Tyler the Creator etc too. The only great current active acts out at the moment I'd say are Kendrick Lamar (though a recent album started touching on the hipster element and not listened to his untitled release), Schoolboy Q and Chance the Rapper.

I still regularly listen to DMX, Outkast, Cypress Hill, Wu Tang and Eminem (in terms of mainstream acts), can't stick most of the current stuff.

In before K-Hod preaches De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest!

  9. If anyone likes Alan Partridge his latest mockumentary Scissored Isle is funny. It was on Sky Atlantic.

"I'm going to one of the most deprived areas in Britain, the spiritual home of the needy, Manchester. You only have to hear the locals speak to realise this is an area severely handicapped by poverty. Once an industrial hub, today better known for its teeming gay and lesbian scene and coincidently the arrival of the BBC in Salford."

The 'Bin Laden' comment was hilarious.

  10. I rarely buy games at full price to be honest. As i had a voucher, got it for £37 new.

That turtles game looks like it could be fun, i bought transformers devastation which looks similar (hack and slash type game) I thought that was enjoyable, even if it was just for nostalgia moments.

    How is Doom anyway?
