  1. We did have a postponement against Wimbledon it would have been before 97 though. Can't remember what the score was or if it even started but I remember Fashanu, Wise, Jones et al doing belly slides all over the pitch and pretending to swim after it was called off
  2. There is only one 'fair' option which is to finish the game with the same set of players on the pitch for both sides. 11 v 10. But that won't happen. Giving one side the points without finishing the game can never be described as fair - it denies the other side the opportunity to gain points through no fault of their own - despite the odds being heavily against them - anything can happen in sport. Remember Devon Loch
  3. It's not more difficult but it is less beneficial financially. If the shortened match is behind closed doors then the club will have to issue refunds on the original match and get no income from the 15 minute match. Pasha thinks in terms of pound notes, he doesn't care about the 3 points. Officially, the club will probably push for the 15 minute option but I know what Pasha would prefer.
  4. For the 15 minute option, presumably they wouldn't charge anyone with a ticket for the original game and income from hospitality etc would be zero but they would still need to pay stewards and police. If it's a full replay, Rovers can refund 40% of the original ticket price and then charge full price again for the replay, sell hospitality tickets and get income from food and drinks. Pasha will be looking at this from a financial point of view and may well prefer the full replay
  5. I'm not convinced he had much influence on who was bought or sold. It was probably a case of Yes Rudy, thanks Rudy.
  6. Sounds like bad news to me. They can now go back to plodding along, sending over the bare minimum in funding whenever required but taking no other interest in he club whatsoever. Venky's will see it as a problem solved but Pasha will continue to cut costs - that's his job. They will expect us all to be truly grateful and, sadly, a large proportion of the fan base will be.
  7. Hey Boss, don't say too much. BRFCPrivy is over there
  8. They aren't trying to hide their policy of putting cost cutting before all else. They have cut off all contact with the fan groups and removed any players with any affinity for the fans or the club. They are whittling away at the old guard ( Waggott, Lowe etc ) until they ( Pasha and Gestede ) have complete autonomy to do as their friends in low places desire them to do. My only hope is that it all seems so obvious and brazen that it might be a one final fling before they finally leave us in peace.
  9. I think we may be in such a dire situation by November that many of them would join an 18(in) -75(out) type protest. Rubber chickens and ref's whistles at the ready.
  10. He was always known as Suhail Pasha in the early years. He seemed to start using Shaikh more recently Wikipedia have him listed as Suhail Pasha, The BBC still refer to him as Suhail Pasha - the quote below was from a couple of months ago: Blackburn Rovers chief operating officer Suhail Pasha has sat down with BBC Radio Lancashire this week - the first time he has spoken to the media publicly since Venky's bought the club in 2010.
  11. b) would be a blessed relief. Bring it on !
  12. With Wharton being injured, I doubt he will be sold today. However, it will be a disaster if he does go for £150 Million and Rovers get a big pay out. Pasha will be a hero in Venky's eyes and the face washing will continue way into the future with Pasha having complete autonomy. As a side note, I have heard from a Wharton family friend that Adam favours a move to Liverpool.
  13. I am sure all his agents are delighted. Agents Pasha, Gestede and Owen, along their friends behind the scenes, obviously think it is a great idea to sign an injured player
  14. My worry is that we have played 5 average/poor teams and lost to 4 of them. It is habit forming. I know WBA have had a decent start but they aren't world beaters. Only 3 players started today who were not here last season but we looked very disjointed and there was very little talking or encouragement between the players. More like 11 individuals rather than a team.
