  1. Last line a bit arsey. "Arbitrary target" , no ,an aim, which if met equals success. At the beginning of the season the play offs would habe been seen as a huge success, now I think you and few others are changing it so that the manager and players only get credit if they they actually win the play offs. I gave you the definition of success. If that's not good enough for you,I can't add anymore. Not sure why you are bringing cup finals in either, nobody was talking about them and it's hardly relevant to us. I suppose that's what happens when you have lost the argument and have nothing else to add.
  2. Obviously he would have failed in his target to make the play offs. Is that what you want to happen?
  3. You were talking nonsense that I somehow compare making the play offs to winning the premier League. I didn't really know what to take from it,so I just had a go.
  4. Mowbray said the aim was the play offs. This is pointed out on here enough, usually to criticize him. Here is the definition of success Case closed.
  5. Well I don't think we are winning the Premier League this year, but if you think we can, good luck with that.
  6. No,obviously straight after the game people wouldn't look at it like that. It all depends on when the question is asked. Would it have been seen as success before the season started? Have a look in the prediction thread and let me know what you think.
  7. If some of their fans were topping them for relegation beforehand ,they might!
  8. Ya and would they get us this close to the play offs? No guarantees. Clearly getting to the play offs would be success. I am sure if I asked you that at the begining of the season ,you would have agreed. "Whatever dude" ?
  9. Getting into the play-offs would be success(particularly when you take Dacks injury into account). Being promoted would be even better I don't see anyone saying we are a transfer window away from things clicking. I think you are exaggerating about people blindly defending Mowbray no matter what. There are 1or 2, but most are fairly balanced I would say. A new manager wouldn't mean we would be proofed against any of the threats you mention.
  10. No guarantee they will go up either. With the budget they have, anything less than promotion is failure.
  11. Oh ya? Will that stay in place I wonder? We could be back to the good old days so where it was mostly British and Irish players at the top clubs. Difficult to imagine it though...
  12. Interesting. Not good for Irish players chances of getting to the UK, but potentially good for the Irish domestic league.
  13. To be fair Mashed potato and another poster ,whose name escapes me, were accused of being moles for the club.
  14. Who would you be talking about there now I wonder ?
  15. Stop being silly. I can have an opinion without naming names. I wouldn't go as far as an "agenda" anyway. More that they have painted themselves into a corner and acknowledging success would mean a lot of back tracking. Some posters contribution amounts to a few lines here and there complaining. I have no idea what they would post about if things went well and we got promoted. More than likely onto critisizing the manager for us not being prepared for the Premier league.
  16. I honestly believe some on here are so far down the anti-Mowbray rabbit hole that success would be uncomfortable for them. A handful, but I believe it to be the case. I won't name them because there is no point. It would just cause needless arguing.
  17. Thats incredible. What are the chances
  18. He was very cutting about it. They asked if Pedersen would train with the first team squad and he said something along the lines of "no, we are a professional football team preparing for a game" I reckon that would have cleared up any questions Peds may have had about his visit ?
  19. Mmm, maybe, just need a "can we stay in the Premier league next season?" thread for counterbalance now
  20. I don't see the point of this thread with the season still ongoing.
  21. I think a trouncing with a couple of knocks would be best. Nothing serious, just enough to put them out for the weekend. The good thing is with Rooney playing they will want to give this a right good go. Probably full strength.
