  1. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17676487.rovers-chief-executive-on-budget-talks-with-owners-venkys/ Generic enough stuff here and as I said in an earlier post, no benefit in coming out saying we have more money to spend than last summer. The proof will be in the pudding as the fella says.
  2. Simple logic, Gallagher would be a good buy at 5 million in todays market.
  3. God no, he is definitely not a winger. Even less so than Brereton. I don't get that at all
  4. If Brereton cost 7 million, 5 million for Gallagher would be a good deal. If he came here on loan and did well, we could forget about getting him for that much. By doing well I mean the same as the last time where he scored 12 goals I think it was.
  5. Could be a good value back up for Dack
  6. Knowing Sharpe it won't be too explosive, but at the same time, I don't think it would be in any ones benefit if he came out and said that things went well. It would just lead to other clubs and agents looking for more money.
  7. Some good points by all. I think we got ourselves a wrestling thread. Might spend more time here than the transfer one ? I think between the kids market and Saudi Arabia, wwe are coining it in,but if they lose the "adult" market to AEW it will eventually end up doing big damage to them. Maybe not in 5 or 10 years even, but it will.
  8. Obviously. It will be interesting see where he ends up
  9. Not sure about Jimmy Havok though. Personally death match stuff just isn't my thing. Pretty safe to say AEW will be PG or whatever the kid friendly term is, so he won't be doing the gorey stuff. His look just doesn't do it for me.
  10. I am around half-way through it. Interesting to listen to a big name WWE guy being so honest. It sounds like the biggest problem is Vince. WWE has amazing talent doing their best, but Smackdown and Raw are absolutely rubbish most of the time. I wouldn't even watch them now. I watch Wrestling with Wregret and that does for my updates. AEW is definitely good for the business. They are building a nice roster. I think it's promising that, for example, when Moxley came out at the PPV, he destroyed Omega. That might suggest egos won't be running the show there. Of their roster MJF looks like a great heel. Luchasaurous looks really cool. I have seen bits of Joey Janela in the past and there is a great documentary about him on youtube by Kenny Johnson called "please don't die Joey Janela". The bump, well I wouldn't even call it a bump, the death defying stunt he did in CZW was absolutely terrifying. I think he will be an interesting character going forward. His valet is very easy on the eyes too. Hangman Pages entrance music and video is one of the best since Stone cold. His clothesline is ridiculous as well. Him v Jericho for the title should be good. I would actually like to see Jericho win it and have a run as an uber heel who thinks he is the main draw. Ideally if he gets some muscle as bodyguards. Finally, they need to do stables well again. WWE have made an absolute mess of the concept. They have fucked it up so badly that I don't think they can fix it. In pretty much any fans top 5 moments in wrestling, you will have; DX, NWO or the horsemen. Plenty of other great stables over the years too.
  11. It depends really. His injury record has been so bad over the last 4-5 years who is going to offer him a long-term deal? A newly promoted or possibly a big spending championship club might offer him a year, but even that would be a gamble. It will be interesting to see.
  12. I actually thought about him the other day. An article showed his potential in fifa 09 would end up at 89, which is basically world class. The reality is his card is now 73 and he plays in league 1. That move to Russia killed his career On a free, I would prefer him over Downing to be honest. When he gets going he is class, but he is hot and cold. I don't think he has an attitude problem or any off the field issues, just one of those players. He had/has more talent than any of our current wingers, that's for sure He did very well at Preston, so maybe he would be on for a move back around that neck of the woods.
  13. Feck the begrudgers-keep it coming!
  14. We play with a lone target man, so I am sure Big Andy would fit in just swell. Well maybe not actually, because we are moving to a technical, possession based style with false a 9, 10, 11 and possibly 1 if Raya doesn't sort his shit out. Maybe we should inquire about Messi? Actually, he is probably too old.
  15. I wonder if there is any chance of us signing Andy Carroll I would say around 1%, but what a signing he would be on a pay as you play at this level
  16. Downing may be almost 35, but I just read there Eden Dzeko is moving to Inter for £17 million and he is almost 34!
  17. An what news are you expecting exactly? A breakdown of the transfer budget for your perusal?
  18. Fake news. Chaddy may have been amusing, but he took himself extremely seriously.
  19. Lads, ye can't just label anyone who disagrees with ye or who veers towards a more optimistic viewpoint as "the new chaddy". Chaddy was a one off. In a good way.
  20. Ya, but some with more experience than us must see something in him to categorise him among the best under 19s in the country. Don't @ me with "well Jason Lowe was an England under age player too" because , as much as it pains me to see and say it, the quality of player in your teams, particularly under age, right now is miles ahead of where ye were back when Lowe was selected.
  21. My thoughts on Downing are while not the most exciting signing due to his age, we do need experience and he has pretty much done it all. He is left footed as well, which would offer more balance than Conway. I wouldn't get too worked up about it in isolation. I will wait and see what our 2nd and 3rd signings look like if we get him. I don't think we will anyway. I can see him going to Rangers for more game time
  22. Depends on if we know what division we will be in. I think this season it was still, somewhat, up in the air. Definitely needed to happen sooner than it did though.
  23. A bid wasn't required as he is out of contract. I imagine Mowbray didn't need sign off on offering terms, particularly as he stated that there was budget left over from January.
  24. All speculation in paragraph . As for the last sentence and please answer, what business have other clubs in the division done? Apart from Stoke. I agree with the 2nd paragraph for sure
